Quick Trip Report from Preview Night

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby [jonrev] on April 28th, 2007, 8:59 pm
Rode:
Hometown Fun Machine
Demon
American Eagle
Revolution
Whirligig
King Chaos
Whizzer

Triple Play was open briefly but closed after about 10 minutes since the park opened.
Image

Demon's trains have an updated version of the old logo. They're no longer a decal, instead they're airbrushed on. Yellow train's (shown) have green lettering and eyes, black has red. Red train still is in rehab. They also feature an awesome looking demonic mouth with fangs.

The usual Demon Corkscrew Photo

Eagle lift with some of the Big Red Car's track.

On a side note, Revolution was running great last night.

Wiggle's World looks decent...

Image

Whirligig looks great after being rehabbed. New seats look good too.
Image

Southwest Ampitheatre was VERY crowded last night. I don't think the theatre has been that active since the days of the Batman Stunt Show and the Warner Brothers Western Stunt Show. The SpyGirl set seems to be coming along great.
Image

They treated everyone to a preview of the new Spirit of America show...
Image

Columbia looked great this year. The reflection pond had some work done on it over the offseason.

THE END

Other Notes:
-The park looked great, alot of advertising this year but the misters built into the advertisement signs was a great idea.

-Bottled soda looks like it's gonna go up to $3.50, a little too pricey.

-TrailBlazer is basically nothing now but a big empty space with a background behind where it was.

-Some gallows from Fright Fest are in Southwest Territory in front of the Chubasco area.

-Southwest Amphitheater is also being repainted. IDK if it's done or not but the rocks are green now, looks ugly.

-Eagle Snacks is now by Revolution.

-Eagle's entrance is still being worked on but it looks pretty good. I liked the other one better.

-Dare Devil Dive's entrance is now to the right of the Eagle entrance, but they're in the same building.

That's odd. It's usually never like that. Water is mostly always cheaper.

^Actually, i don't think so, Water Bottles in vending machines (at least at my college and other places downtown) are more expensive than the pop.

Great trip report, Jon, I love the picture of the carousel at night!

Its soda pop

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Actually, it's a Chicago thing to say pop. I know for sure that in the south (Florida, Washington D.C, etc), they call it soda.

EDIT: Whoops! That's what I meant to say. Typed that out wrong. Thank you Trailblazer Tony for pointing that out.

^WRONG! It's a Chicago thing to say POP! Almost every other city says soda, and some *cough Florida cough* won't know what you are talking about if you say pop. So go Chicago! Say Pop!

Either way, no matter what you call it, it's not worth more than $1.50.

Water fountain.

In New England, some places call soda "Tonic"....
