Noah's Ark(Wisconsin Dells) Trip Report 6/30/06(long)

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby sixflagsdude on July 1st, 2006, 2:57 am
Just getting back from Summerfest tonight where me and Mimi went to see Blue October(and multiple trips to the beer tent) I am a bit tipsy posting this...so bear with me!

Got up at 9am this morning, Monica and Chris picked me up shortly after that and we made our 2 hour trek out to the Dells. Got there around 11am and went to Dairy Queen to eat and pigged out on pretty much everything on the menu. :) Then it was off to the park...

We decided to park in the Walrus Parking area instead of the Gator parking lot where we usually go since Monica likes those changing rooms better. She brought in a bunch of $10 off Pepsi cans and Chris used one to check in. We tried to give an extra one away but everyone had free passes. So some girl grabbed my arm and told me that she had 2 free passes and gave them to me and Monica so we got in for free! w00t!

Put our stuff in some lockers and headed off to the Big Kahuna(normally we go to the Wave first but yeah we were @ the other end so whatever). The water was still brutally cold and it was at least 90 deg out! We stayed in the wave pool for 2 wave cycles and I went into the deep end a couple of times. The waves pump so hard at the deep end that you can actually touch the ground in 7' deep water between the wave crests. I was over that pretty quickly so I swam back and we splashed in the waves in the shallow part for the rest of the second wave cycle. I still like The Wave better because of the Swirl River thing and the fact that it's less disgusting(The Big Kahuna tends to have more trash in it like hair and band-aid's eww)

The 3 of us went on Congo Bongo next. The line was about 20 mins long. We had fun on it but didn't spin or bank as much since there were only 3 people on our raft. The key is to ride with at least 4 or 5 people.

Then me and Chris went on Dark Voyage. A pretty long wait but it was under an hour. This one is fun but seriously takes too long in line. And the water on this one is so nasty, avoid getting any in your mouth if you can.

Monica was kind of tired by this point and didn't want to go on the Bermuda Triangle slides next so me and Chris decided to check out...

Time Warp-This is the new waterslide for this year. I fought for the last few weeks to get a review on this thing but couldn't find anything(including the site forums) so here it is..
We waited in line for about an hour. They played some stupid old techno music and not the cool kind that I like. The speakers sounded awful and like they were about to bust out. The line queue took the spot where the line for the Bermuda Triangle slide's top slide used to go. We finally got to the top and you have to ride in groups of 4(they freak out about any exceptions). Luckily there were 2 riders behind us so we all rode together. You have to cross your legs all together so we were like one big twisted pretzel. We launched off and yayy no waterfall at the beginning. We got stuck @ the opening and the lifeguard didn't notice so I pushed us through. We finally started off on a winding turn and then all of a sudden went down a HUGE drop! The enclosure is dark so it really takes you by surprise. We fell down on the drop which felt like forever and then you go in 2 circuits in the huge bowl where you are spinning really fast then you hit the middle of the bowl..they flash these strobe lights and there are waterfalls that shoot out @ you. You go really slow around the bowl a few more times and then finally go through a small hole and slide to the bottom. This was fun but not worth the wait. I did love that they played Madonna's "Hung Up" while we were in line!

Then Monica met up with us and we went on all the Bermuda Triangle slides. The 3 of us rode the tallest one alone(slow and lame) then Chris and Monica rode the left middle one together and I went by myself, cool ride then me and Monica rode the last one together and that was so much fun and we banked really fast and hard on the sides.

Next, Chris and Monica wanted to sit and eat so I went to Paradise Lagoon and rode the cable slides(I made it through the whole thing) and then the tube that cuts off halfway and then the short slides. These were fun but the 17 foot water is too deep and nuts when you are trying to resurface.

Then we all went to go get foot at some station. They got chessy pretzels and I got a huge lemonaid. mmmm

Next we went on the Lazy River. The 3 of us rode on a HUGE tube. When we got back to the station I fell backwards and did a flip and banged my head on the side, OWWWW! That sucked but they were all laughing @ me.

After that we went to SlideWinders. The 3 of us went on the one all the way on the left. Then me and Monica went on the middle one, then I went on the right one all by myself.

Then we walked to the coolest part of the park...The duck pond!!! We watched the baby ducks and fed them and some people on the bumper boats squirted us with water.

Next we headed off to Flash Flood. Chris and Monica waited on the bridge and I went on the ride. It was fun. Then I went on the splash bridge for a couple of rounds and got nailed with freezing water.

Then I went on the Incredible Adventure. Lame!! I didn't like this one at all.

Next they wanted me to go on the Stingray, because they are both scared of it and of course this is my personal fave there. OMG, this beats any other water ride there. I rode with some other cool kid and there are these new tubes that are like mini recliners. we giggled and lol'd the entire time. That rocked.

Monica and Chris went to go eat again and I went on the Black Anaconda. This was an hour wait. I hated it last year but this year it was fun. I love the drops and whenever you go into the enclosed tubes you get nailed with cold water. The only thing I hate is that when you are launched uphill you have water sprayed in your face, hard to enjoy that. The most awesome part is the end, I never realized that you come out of a snakes mouth @ the end, so cool! I liked this ride much better this year since I didn't have to ride in the front seat.

I went to go meet Chris and Monica @ some food court and they were wiped out(considering they had barely gone on half the slides I did). I convinced them to shut up and suck it up and we went on some more stuff....

First we headed off to Congo Bongo again and then did another Bermuda Triangle silde. Then we went on Adventure River. Monica was mad since we usually hold her head under the waterfalls on this one but we promised not to so yeah, we went on it and it was fun. We did one ride cycle and then I got off while they did the second ride cycle to go on...

Black Thunder-I rode all 4 slides. I did the Twin Twisters first. Loved them both. But it was freaky on the top right once since you spin pretty fast. Then I did the Witches Gultch ones which are my fave, those double drops are FIRECE!!!

Monica and Chris wussed out @ that point and wanted to change so I went on:

Point of No Return: This one is pretty lame, and I hate the jets that shoot out on your face at the end.

The Plunge: Definitely the scariest ride @ the park! OMG, face first and you feel like you are going to fly off your mat on the second hill, loves it!

Then I hiked back all the way to the other end, changed and we headed out to Riverview Park where I rode the Ultimate Rush 2 times and then rode the Gravitron and some orange Galaxy coaster. Then rode Hades and Zeus and did some go carts.

Then we went to Culvers and headed home where I went to Summer Fest and whoooo..... yeah that's when the night gets a little blurry ;)

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!
