Holiday World TR 6-20-21-06

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby EagleFan344 on June 23rd, 2006, 2:26 pm
The night before, we actually drove by the park just before closing just to get a glimpse of Voyage  . The mere sight got us excited for the day ahead.

We arrived at the park around 9:45, and once we were in we headed over to Legend first. After that we went a queued for Raven, about a 20 minute wait. One train op, but later that queue cleared out so they only needed one train. Then finally on to Voyage, and wow I will post my review later in this TR. We literally stayed on this thing for the rest of the day, only to leave while getting food and going on Voyage and Raven a few times since we were right next to them.

The food was great. Tasted great, and you could get 2 hotdogs, large fry and a drink for under $5  . Try that Six Flags, oh wait it would cost $15-$20 for that amount of food. The free pop feature was also amazing. Also included were pink lemonade, fruit punch, iced tea and orange gatorade. Gatorade was our drink of the trip.

Ride Reviews:

Legend:
It was a good coaster, however did not live up to the hype in my opinion. Didn't produce much airtime, and thats what a wooden coaster needs. It had many tunnels, and you go through a small section of the water park. i would rank this ride #2 on my woodie list, but thats not saying much.

Raven:
Wow, talk about overrated. Where's all this ejector air I had been hearing about? It had a weak first drop, and it was very short. I would rank it on par with Viper, but I will give it a slight edge so its #3 on my list.

Voyage:
Wow, wow, wow, omfg, just wow. This coaster was worth the trip itself. I cannot say in words how amazing this ride is. GREAT first drop, every hill after it you get great airtime. Ejector all over this ride. The 90 degree turns were awesome, and there was 3 of them. So many tunnels. The fly by the queue underground was cool, but the line was rarely that far  . The triple down IN AN UNDERGROUND TUNNEL was the best element on a coaster I have ever been on. I have been on 66 coasters, so thats alot of elements. This ride is non-stop speed and airtime throughout the whole course til you get to the ending brake run. My #1 coaster, no doubt. Better than Kingda Ka, Superman: Ride of Steel (SFNE), Nitro, w/e. This ride will bring me back to this park in the near future. This ride was a short station wait for most of the two days. The 2nd day, this is the only ride we went on.

The first day, it stormed from 6-8 so we left around 7:30 since Voyage was not going to open back up. Earlier in the day, when we were eating lunch, we decided to cancel our trip to Indiana Beach the next day and stay in Santa Claus for another day at Holiday World. Voyage was too amazing to leave for Indiana Beach. But due to the long drive, we left around 3:00.

Ride Totals:
Day 1:
Raven: 5
Legend: 3
Voyage: 14

Day 2:
Voyage: 16

30 total rides on Voyage.

Go to Holiday World!!!!

Hell yeah. That was a fun trip.

I also thought Raven was a little overhyped...I personally get more airtime on Viper. Although the turn over the lake was cool.

I thought Legend was a great ride though...a couple moments of good airtime (in my opinion) and an awesome first drop with cool tunnels, lots of sweet turns, and the double helix was great.

Voyage....all I can say is wow, the ultimate roller coaster. Speed, ridiculous airtime, 5 tunnels, three 90 degree banked turns, great first drop, two 100ft+ airtime hills, an enclosed triple down, a terrain coaster, SHORT lines, and did I say AIRTIME??? Overall #1 on my list...see sig

Lol. 24.2 seconds more than that GP in line thought he should be getting.

"I'm gonna pull my restraint down tight this time since on the last ride my butt came off the seat".

Or whatever he said. That was great.
