May 6 - Why are Revy and King Chaos still closed????

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby [jonrev] on May 6th, 2006, 5:17 pm
Got there about 5 minutes after the chain drop and they were finishing up the Carousel Song. There was a Mexican band playing in front of Columbia.
Image

First we headed to Hometown Fun Machine. For some reason this warning sticker makes me LOL...
Image

HTFM was running well today...
Image

...and so was Whizzer:
Image

Next we headed for Viper and we noticed this in front of Whizzer (is this new? I dont remember it):
Image

Now for Vip- um, i mean Orbit:
Image

Ok, NOW for Viper, back row. The back row EJECTS you from your seat!! I will always ride Viper in back row.

Next was Trailblazer which I thought was alittle boring. Then came Riccochet where I shot this photo:
Image

Giant Drop came up next since there was no line and they tried AGAIN to staple me. They still can't staple me.
Image

After that we decided to head for Demon when we saw this marching band (I think there was some Marching Band Awards thing going on at the park today)
Image
Image

Demon in the back row is awesome! The first drop gives you incredible airtime.
Image

Next was AE Blue which was nothing special to report. Then we went to Batman but stopped at Yankee Clipper first. They added more to the clipper sign, it looks MUCH better now:
Image

I'm not really a water ride person so I let Steve (my brother) ride it alone:
Image

Look at how happy he is (he found a hat hanging in a tree by Orbit):
Image

Wonder Woman!:
Image

This is Batman (and Robin)...
Image

... and this is his roller coaster:
Image

Is it Batman's birthday?
Image

So after they blasted Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me and The Passenger in the station and we rode Batman we headed towards Orleans Place. Mardi Gras recording studio is dead (thank god, some of those people singing made me want to rip my ears off!)
Image

Not anymore...
Image

Then we got a ride on the greatest bumper cars ever:
Image

So... Much... Chaos!!!!
Image

We got a re-ride but I got probably the worst car of the ride. It got one hit and went completely dead! Grr...

Now for some gentle rides since Steve wasnt feeling too good. First was Columbia on the upper level.
Image

Steve:
Image

Photos from Columbia:
Image
Image

Since SSA was now SSA again we headed for that. I still love this ride and remember riding it when I was only 7.
Image

We then rode Fiddler's Fling and Whirligig which was nothing special.

Two ducks were relaxing in Yukon Territory.
Image

Then we got on East River Crawler which was AWESOME! It is still my favorite flat. It looks like Fiddler's and ERC use the same cars if you minus the roof thing on Fiddler's cars.
Image

The last ride of the day was Big Easy Balloons since I have never ridden them. It's a decent ride and its long enough you can relax for a few mins.
Image

On the way out I got a great shot of Columbia.
Image

The End!
Image

Notes:
-King Chaos and Deja Vu are still closed.
-Triple Play's arms are still sitting there.
-There are Jesters in Mardi Gras again (they are fun).
-The lights in the Demon tunnel were turned off when I rode but they said they were not purposely and they would check it out. The song is still playing :D
-Loggers was closed again but it opened later in the day.
-Revolution is still closed.

Not a bad day. It got a bit crowded later in the day though. I wish I didnt leave though.

Very good report and excellant pictures!!

As for the rides not running, apparently a seasonal park doesnt have enough time in the off-season to get all the rides prepared in a timely manner!

i was there with danhockey, and it was a good day. I think one of the highlights of my day was after we got off STT, and i heard a guest say as he looked at STT, "is that the giant drop???"

Seeing the characters with their "muscle" pads always makes me laugh. Batman's abs were a little off-center, which made them look even worse. But I pity The Flash most of all. A one-piece costume was simply never meant to be.

I wish they'd fix that blue light on Demon (at the entrance). It's been broken since last year, but nobody cares enough to fix it. Even the almight Amy was powerless to convince maintenance (unless she LIED to us).

Instead karoke gone wrong is on the stage in the same area (Great American Idol).  The people don't sound that bad.
