Opening day, Many Personal Records!

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby themanoftheland8 on April 30th, 2006, 7:45 pm
So I got to the park around 9:30, and walked in with my newly renewed season pass. After the opening ceremonies, we walked briskly passed Superman after seeing the line. We chose to stop at Rajun Cajun because there was no wait. We were the first riders, and the employees there were incredibly nice. One of them even gave me a high five :D . We moved on to V2, where we discovered we were the second dispatch. We stayed on 9 times, which was a record for me in one day.

Next we moved on to Batman, where there was no wait for back row. Would have stayed on, but we were not allowed to switch rows for a re-ride. So, we decided to head over to AE. Got up to Blue's station, where there was no line. However, as we got there, the blue train broke down. While waiting, I had a small conversation with newly-hired Jeff, who was working the red side. After about 10 minutes, they had it up and running (thanks to the amazing crew), and we hopped on back row. We then made a quick stop on the back row of Demon, which would be one of many.

We moved on again, this time to Bull. About a 5 minute wait, which was the second longest line of the day. Got back row, which was another great ride. Next, headed over to Viper, no line. Once again, however, the ride broke down as we were the next to ride. As we waited about 15 minutes for it to be back up, we watched John (There, now I spelled it right this time) climb all the way up the steps, feeling sorry for him because the train stopped near the top of the lift. When he got back, we jumped in to the back row for possibly the best ride I've had on Viper--lots of air. We rode it again because there was no line, and had another good ride.

After Viper, we took a quick spin on Chubasco, thanks to my friend who desperately wanted to ride  . We continued to Superman, which had about a 10 minute line-- making it the longest wait we had of the day. When we got to be next in line, our misfortune again hit us. It broke down, stopping the train about 2/3 up the lift. We waited for about 10 minutes for them to fix that, and then flew on the back row. Then, we went on a second time, due to the shortness of the line.

After that, we were starving, so we headed to BK to get some lunch. Little did we know the fun was just getting started.

We decided to let our food settle, and liesurely walked over to the space shuttle. Excited that Stargate was now gone, and I wouldn't have to yet again get the gate key, we went in for a one rotation wait. I don't know about this, I think they need the dinosaur one back (if I'm remembering correctly).

After much debating about what to do next, we walked over to Demon. No line for back row, so we took it. When we got back, we noticed there was again, no line for back row. We rode it again. We were forced to move rows this time, but we rode again. And, well, I won't go into detail, but we went 28 times in a row, bringing our ride count up to 29 for this ride. We then chose to take a break for a bit.

We walked around, my friend got some food, and went for a quick ride on Hometown Fun Machine (I think my first ever). Nice and relaxing, the only ones on the ride.

About 25 minutes later, we marched back to Demon, determined to reach our goal. We only needed 16 more rides to accomplish it. After about 4, our train randomly decided to stop before the station, and the yellow train refused to leave. So, after about 10 minutes and much complaining to Brad about not getting an exit pass, we pulled in. We got off following the procedure for testing, and got right back on. Then, after 4 more, rain caused a shutdown of the park (besides Chubasco, Trailblazer, and the train, which ran strong). We waited in the station, complaining to Amy about the blue light over the tunnel being burnt out.

Eventually, we got back on, and finished our 45th ride at about 7:15 (you know, for the 45th anniversary, for those of you who didn't catch that). So, that ended our Demon marathon, and we headed back to ride Bull 8 more times, which finished off the marvelous day.

Also, the workers, (accept for Jeremy at Bull, who seemed to take his precious time  ) were the best and most entertaining I have ever seen.

So, Overall.....
Demon-45
Bull-9
V2-9
Viper-2
Superman-2
Eagle-1
Rajun Cajun-1
Batman-1
Chubasco-1
HFM-1

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

lots of demon rides. I think on saturday, i got four viper in a row, and three RB in a row. I would have done more RB, but i promised a new friend employee i'd ride his ride since he was bored, so i headed there.... opening day was great besides the fact that i pretty much passed out twice at viper because of exhaustion and nausea and light headedness after the big run. I was nauseated all day, and felt like crap, but it was a great day.
