This is my first trip report, so bear with me. This was also my first trip to SFStL. So I went there and my hotel screwed up my reservations and I left home at 4 in the morning, so I was crabby when I first got to the park and for a part of the time in it. So I mainly found the cheeriness strange and slightly irksome. Also, I took the first part of my day to try and explore the park and kind of see where everything is, which was kind of impossible, since the theming is pretty poor and there's really no signage to indicate where you are. Luckily Mr. Freeze was easily findable. So I got in the backrow and had the opportunity to ride this ride a lot during the day. Took some time to hop on the Thunder River. Rode Ninja, and everyone I heard from seems to be in agreement on this. The headchopper is cool, but the ride is a little too jerky to be totally enjoyable. Still, it was kinda cool. Went over to The Boss. The was interesting. I went in the back first. It was cool. Then I rode in the very front and it was cooler. Then there was Batman, which was pretty good. I love to kick when I'm on a coaster for some reason. I'm somewhat twitchy by nature anyway. I also took a ride on the River King Mine Train thing. Kinda cool. I liked the tunnel at the end. Then there was Screamin' Eagle. Kinda cool. Comfortable for a wooden coaster. I am used to them shaking the bones right out of me, like The Boss did. Anyway, we went to Scooby Doo last. Stupid gargoyle... Anyway, I failed miserably and I can't even blame it on a crappy gun. But hey, it was my first time and the ADD was kickin in with all that blacklight stuff going off.
The strangeness of the friendliness of the employees was amazing. A little creepy at the end when I was trying to leave the park and they made this tunnel you had to walk through and give them all those running high five thingies. Really nice though and they kept trying to keep the park clean. I sat in my little smoking area, the only one I could find there is DC Plaza and watched some guy toss a cigarette butt on the ground and within a minute there was a little park employee with a broom sweeping it up and smiling and chatting the whole time. It was like they brainwashed their employees and slipped them some happy pills. It was great. I was tempted to throw something on the ground and see how quick their garbage ESP reacted to it. That would have been rude though, so I restrained myself.
Once, when I was sitting in my little smoke area, ihauntu knows which one, this park employee came up, bummed a cigarette off of me and we talked for a while. I mean, the whole time she was looking over her shoulder the whole time cause she would have been in trouble I am sure. Then some other employee sat next to me and just talked at this one other time. They were all super incredible crazy nice. I was really unsure as to how to deal with this, since I am used to them not caring and pretty much pretending like the guests aren't there or are a nuisence(or however that word is spelled.)
As for my fears about not having fun because of being alone, they were lies. Bitter lies. I had tons of fun. Those that went, obviously went on a good day, since these stupid storms hit today. Tornado warnings...blah.
So I guess here is where I give my total for the day. I went on a lot more different rides than this, but this is all I remember.
