First of all it was an absolutely gorgeous day. Nothing but blue skies and very comfortable temperatures all day.Went to Superman first. That pretzel loop is incredible! Bolliger and Mabilliard were right about that element. It is the most intense coaster element ever. The G-forces just crush you into the seat. I love that feeling. The rest of the ride was great, but not as intense as I might have expected.Next was Batman (front row). For my money, this is without a doubt the best coaster in the park. Once you start careening down the hill, it is a relentless assault of G-forces. I know some say it is too short of a ride, but I don't know if the human body can withstand anymore of the forces it is subjected to from that coaster. I absolutely love that upward helix after the second loop. It feels like my face is being ripped off!Next up was V2 (second row). This ride never disappoints. I love the feeling when the train heads up the back vertical spike. I think I now know what it feels like when an eagle swoops down and grabs an unsuspecting rabbit. Now it's on to Iron Wolf (front row). The first ever B&M coaster and it still holds up well after all these years. Another merciless onslaught of G-forces. I really love the helix going through the loop and the figure 8 finale. Yeah it can be a bit rough, but I just pin the right side of my head against the pad and I'm just fine. Now a break for lunch at the Mooseburger Lodge. Twelve bucks for a burger, fries, and a soda, are you kidding me??? Actually it was a damn good burger, I'll give them that, but twelve bucks, c'mon!

Back to the rides. The Eagle was surprisingly down upon our arrival. So it was on to Raging Bull. Once again, kudos to B&M! Another superb coaster! Air-time galore and a fabulous figure 8 finish.Next, Viper (front row) injected plenty of venom into our veins! This coaster always leaves me with tears in my eyes. The lateral Gs are simply awesome! At the sound of the Demon bell, we headed to the Demon. A short, but sweet ride.We went back to the Eagle and rode the red (forward) train. I didn't notice any trim brakes so the whole ride was outstanding. The double helix and the one at the end of the ride were great. Now to the Whizzer. Just before we got to the station, one of the trains got stuck at the top of the spiral chain lift. About 3 or 4 guys climbed up there, gave it a push, and it made it through just fine. In this day of hi-tech computers and what not, it's nice to see good old-fashioned brute force make a difference. Anyway, the Whizzer is still a nice, fun ride after all these years. The rest of the day we took a second spin on Superman, Batman, Iron Wolf, Raging Bull, and Viper. So all in all it was yet another great day at Great America!
