I woke up at about 9:00AM, over an hour later than when I wanted to. I crammed some toast into my mouth and took off. I was about 5 minutes into the trip when my brother told me that he forgot his season pass. So we had to turn back only to find that his season pass is at his work which wasn't open today. We went anyway, hoping there was a way he could get it.First thing we did when we got there was go to Guest Relations and explain our situtation. They gave him another season pass for no extra charge. We finally entered the park at around 10:30 and immediately headed to Viper, because everyone would be distracted be Superman and Raging Bull. It was a walkon. We got on once in the back row and once in 1.3. While we were in line for 1.3 we saw that back row was now blocked off. There's my first example of perfect timing.I didn't notice much of a difference between the seats, but there was a little more airtime in 1.3 than the back. We went to Raging Bull just after most people have gotten their morning ride. There was about a 20 minute wait. We were near the end of the line for back row when they had two open seats, so we could skip right in front of everyone Another example of perfect timing. We were in the blue train, which I think goes a lot slower than the other ones. There was almost no airtime and everything went by a lot slower.Giant Drop had almost no wait so we went on that. I did the "coin trick" just to have a little fun and distract me from the suspense of waiting. As we got near the bottom, my nickel flew away from me and the ride operator took it We took a back row ride on Demon, which was a walk-on. I love the ejector air on that first drop. This ride was running a lot smoother than normal. I don't know why. After that not-so-exciting ride on the Demon, we went to our car to get some lunch. I had a turkey sandwich with mustard on a kaiser bun. Yummy!I popped some extra Dramamine just to be safe and went back into the park. The line for Superman wasn't out of the queue for once so we got in line for that. They were handing out those stupid bording passes again. My brother and I talked about how useless they are, and how people can easily get around it. We decided to take a front row ride, which was a really good decision. In the front, you don't feel the pretzel loop as much, but you really get whipped around the turns. You get a true sensation of flying. It's definitely worth the extra wait time.We then hopped in line for American Eagle Red, after purchasing two large Mint Chocolate dippin' dots. The wait line wasn't too long. We got in line for a back row ride, which was, as always, filled with speed and airtime. The line was so short that we went on it again. We both wanted to go on a water ride, but not get soaked so we headed to Roaring Rapids. It was closed. Raging Bull was our next stop then.In the queue, I paid $3.50 for one of those Icee things. About a minute after I paid for it, I dropped it and had to throw it away We got another back row ride in the blue train. *yawn* Got in line again and waiting 15 minutes for the...RED TRAIN!! It could just be me, but it seemed a LOT faster and had much more airtime. Next time I'm just gonna wait for the red train no matter what...unless yellow is running. We headed over to Batman for our first ride on it of the day, which is very unusual for us. We chose front row. What a good decision. The G's seemed to be higher and you seemed to go a lot faster than any other seat. We got in line again for a back row ride. It was just as good as the front in my oppinion, except it whips you around a lot more.Time for V2! We got in line and saw that the back row was blocked off, so we opted for a front row ride. Right before we got on the stairs, I heard the scream of the LIMs, and then it stopped. There was some problem with V2 to where they had to stop it for a while. A lot of people left right before they got it running again The front row was a great decision. You seem to go so much higher on the track. It looks like it's gonna hit that bumper thing at the top, but you stop just in time. The brake is so much cooler because there's almost nothing between you and the water. There was about a half an hour wait for this, but it was worth every second. We headed over to Superman andthought there was a really long line, since there were about 20 people outside the queue. When we got there, we found out that it was CLOSED! We waited for a few more minutes, and they opened it back up! SUPERMAN WAS ALMOST A WALK-ON! We waited only about 10 minutes, and that was for the front row. At 9:00PM when the park closed, they told everyone to leave the queue for the front row (which we were still in) because they were only sending a limited number of trains. We didn't listen and still got our front row ride, which was again, spectacular. We then left the park after having a great day.
I went yesterday too, and had a really good day. No real big lines at all and I rode basically everything on the west side of the park at least 5 times. Im going to post a TR when I get time.
I was wondering what seat is best for S:UF because i want to know what the back is like. Great TR too, i like the back of V2 because you get the best air on the vertical spike, i never rode the front, but when i go tomorrow (the 17th) i am going to compare front to back.
I agree with CD316 about where to sit. in my opinion I think that front row is the best place to sit for V2. If you dont want to wait for the front row then sit in the second row..thats a good row too.
No...Back row on V2 is the best. I'm seriously debaiting whether I like back row V2 or Raging Bull Better. The launch and freefall are just too cool. I hope to go on a weekday when I finally get some days off.
Different types of movement effect different people in different ways. My mom needs Dramanine to go on coasters, but has had no problems on any cruise (over 10, including one where there were 20' swells.) Then there are people like my sister, who get naseauted just by being in a car too long. Then there are the lucky ones like me, nothing can get me sick but food poisoning.
I've never been to Great America without Dramamine, because I always get sick on carnival rides. However, I'm fine on cruises but get nauseated for being in a car a long time.
I've got to check out on that Dramamine for my sister. She gets nauseated during long car rides, but is fine on roller coasters. The Orbit is not a ride for her, and apparently just watching a film at Pictorium can be nauseating(Adrenalish Rush and the one with the Aliens in the amusement park from a few years ago). I, on the other hand, can handle just about anything without getting sick.
