First Fright Fest-10/15/05

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Trailblazer Tony on October 16th, 2005, 3:38 pm
We arrived at the park at about 11:00. I noticed, as we were parking in the far back that today would be crowded. We walked up to the front of the park to get my girlfriend her ticket for half off. After a 30 minute wait to get here ticket, we decided to eat lunch at the car before entering in. We entered the park and headed towards Necropolis. The sign said it would open in 45 minutes so we rode some rides.

Spacely's Sprocket Rocket:

This was the only ride in the area that had no wait. We waited three trains for the second to last row. It has been a while since i have been on here. Took a good picture though.

Fiddler's Flung:

This is one of my least favorite rides, but a ten minute wait and i decided to give it another chance. I still hated it, my leg killed afterward.

Necropolis:

After a five minute wait i decided to walk through it for the first time. I loved it. I was so impressed, despite the fact that it was light out. The bad santa exihibit has toned it down a bit. After a 2 minute wait to get the combo haunted house tickets, we left the area to go to Raging Bull

Along the way i noticed some surprising things. Eagle was running the forward track and the line was using EVERY SWITCHBACK in the tent :!: When i got over to southwest territory, Raging Bulls line was completely full and went all the way to Viper's line, which went all the way under the bridge. I decided just to hop in line and wait it out.

Raging Bull:

I got drinks while my girlfriend waited in line. After a 2.5 hour wait, i rode front row. It was worth it ONLY because i was able to get some on-ride photos. I have never waited that long at our park before.

Sleepy Hollow 3D:

This is when i decided to go into my first Six Flags Haunted house, especially since it was only a 5 minute wait. The 3D glasses were cool, i ended up whereing them thoughout the park and the effects were cool, too. I jumped a few times, but it wasn't scared. Still fun though.

Demon:

While the rest of our group went to eat, me and my girlfriend waited 1.5 hours to ride Demon. If it weren't for the new effects, i would have never waited that long for Demon. The effects were amazing and it was the first time where there was no headbanging and i had fun. Best Demon ride ever!

The Freak Show:

At this point it was dark out so i decided to had to Necropolis. It was a lot creepier at night and i was able to catch the freak show right as it was beginning. This show is INSANE! I was shocked, easily the coolest part of fright fest. I even got to staple a dollar to one of the guys.

Mauseleum of Terror:

After a 1.5 hour wait, i went through my second haunted house. It was pretty scary, i give them credit. I enjoyed it.

Fallen Giant: Internal Nightmare:

After a 45 minute wait, i went into my last and scariest haunted house. It was so much fun, this was my favorite haunted house.

Overall, the day, despite ENORMOUS crowds, was a good day. It was my first time at fright fest and my first time in all 3 haunted houses. One problem, was the smokers and the line jumpers. Line jumping was ridiculous today, thank god my girlfriend was there to keep me in line. Also, there was so many people smoking in those long, tight lines, that i wouldn't be surprised if i am diagnosed with lung cancer tomorrow.

Yeah, Saturday was the worst day ever at Fright Fest. There were enormous lines for everything. Necropolis had a line out to the scooby doo train line. Eagle went through all the switchbacks under the tent and every ride was through the switchbacks and out past the next rides lines. I got on 3 rides and saw LAFF in 10 hours of being at the park. Luckily I went today too and it wasn't nearly as bad. Some rides were packed though.

When I went to Six Flags on Saturday the 15th I think the wait for Superman was 2 hours and 45 minutes, but we didn't wait that long because I got to go up the exits because I have a sprained ankle from volleyball, and so we only waited half an hour to 45 minutes for each ride we went on.

If he had a sprained ankle, I don't mind him going up the exit. I am willing to bet that half of that line that was waiting up the exit didn't deserve to be there. That is what pisses me off.

excuse me chitown, but i'm a girl. When I was there on Saturday now listen to this, there were 16 girls that just came from cheerleader practice, with all the same bandage and on the same arm and still allowed up the exits.

Ironic and sad, because there are signs all over the queue that say [everybody in unison] NO SMOKING!

Chi: That is sort of what I meant. I know someone who has no legs from thighs down. He deserves to go up the ramp. When I see kids playing bumper chairs with the park chairs, then see them on the exit ramp later on with no injuries whatsoever, its aggravating. There were SO many exits on this day it was out of hand.

The last row of batman was closed all day just for exits! They have to limit those like fast lanes. But again, there really is no cure for this abuse just like the smoking and line jumping.

They can't limit the exit passes. It is against the law for parks to ask questions about why people need the disabled pass.

Ever since i waited 5.5 hours for Millennium Force, i have developed the patience of a saint. Since i am at college now, me and my girlfriend had a lot to talk about so the line for Raging Bull went by fast. As far as the smokers, i was so mad because the guy was blowing the smoke in our direction and one of the little girls we were with could barely breathe. I have never seen the GP so rude before.

People don't care about anything other than satifing their crave for nicotine, It's either they smoke while waiting the 2 hour wait or they get all pissed off and aggitated. That's how smoker's are. They can't wait till they finish the line, get on the ride and get off and then go smoke. I'm
suprised I don't see them smoking on the ride and if they did then they are totally insane about something that can kill them and give them cancer.

They rather pick cigaretts than think of other people and if you tell them to not smoke they get pissed.

By they way what is the rule for those diable exit passes. Are they alowed one ride per hour.

Superman used row 7 for exit passes and those disable passes.

^Which rides? Seriously, if i ever saw someone smoking on a ride, then i would say something to them or tell the ride op. I just couldn't believe that someone would see no problem with blowing their cigarette smoke on a kid. Her eyes were watering by the end of the line.

Raging Bull. It wasn't this year, though. They must have lit up on the lift, and once the train is sent you can't really do anything about it, unfortunately.

Edit: Take his cigarette out of his mouth and toss it off the coaster.

Then they will want to fist fight cause that one cigarette cost him like $3 the way they price these cigarettes.

No, not all smokers are like what has been said here.

I smoke and I am probably the most courteous smoker around. I don't light up in line, on a busy midway, etc. I make every effort to walk somewhere away from people.

I actually get pissed when I see someone smoking in line and have said something before.

Yes, it's a bad habit and I have tried to quit, but everyone displays bad habits unless you are a health freak.

Thank you for bringing that up. I have never thought bad about any smokers, I know people who smoke, as long as they are courteous I could care less that they smoke. My post 6 up was referring specifically to smokers that smoke in line. Sorry if that offended anyone.
