Waited for my mom to get home from work. After her finally getting ready we were off at around 1:30! Arrived at the park at around 2:45, forced to park in the middle of the overflow lot towards the hill. Walked in and the day began!
Deja Vu:
Total Rides: 2
1) Well, when I arrived at the entrance there was apparantley a mis-park. It didn't take more than 5 minutes and I joined the line. It was back to the stairs with a grouper. Got into 1b in roughly 15 minutes.
2) Walked around, about 20 minutes for 8b.
Demon:
Total Rides: 1
1) Rode 6:1, with a literal walk on through the airgates. When getting off, the station was filled with families, so it seems to becoming really popular with the kids still!
American Eagle Red and Blue:
Total Rides: 2
1) Rode front row Red right away. Blue was descending over the first hill way before Red today. Maybe a new experience?
2) Rode Blue in the last row to leave the station. Both trains are running back to normal.
Raging Bull:
Total Rides: 2
1) Back row left. Whoever said the MCBR was harder than normal, we coasted through it as normal. No real change to it.
2) Front row left. About a 15 min wait for the front row. The wait was from the stairs to station all day.
Whizzer:
Total Rides: 1
1) Rode front row. Saw one of the Whizzer crew members on his day off at the park. Dang Kevin is that cool!
Superman: Ultimate Flight:
Total Rides: 1
1) Back row walk on. But a very, very painful ride.
V2: Vertical Velocity:
Total Rides: 2
1) Walked on to the second row, didn't feel like waiting for front. It always feels like an overlaunch for me on this ride.
2) Re-rode in the third row. No real difference.
Batman: The Ride Total Rides: 1
1) Back row walk on. This was hauling really horribly today. I blacked out from the second loop until the corkscrew.
Hurricane Harbor:
I didn't think I was going to check it out today, but I decided to. First of all, RENT A TUBE. Even if someone steals it, they will need a wristband to use it. It really is a help with the Lazy River. By-pass the wait, and you can stay in as long as you want. Skull Island was open and crazy as heck! I only got on the Yellow Tube slide on the back slide complex. Another thing, why is Wahoo Racers going so slow? I swear, theres all of one mat going down at a time.
A great day, and I suggest you take advantage of the empty lines in the park, and avoid the lines inside the waterpark.
I Don't know but it is true. I was also there. And Superman wasn't a walk-on, it was like a five minute wait all day! And the overflow lot was about half-full. No Coaster...Except Possibly RB at one point, was using the switchbacks.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
Nice TR. I can't wait to go tomorrow, I'm going to take advantage of the water park again .
One thing I have noticed about why Wahoo Racers has been going kind of slow, is because when people try going down they end up getting stuck. I got stuck when I went on it, and it can be hard to get going. It tends to make the wait slower. I'm also wondering why the yellow slides were closed when I was there.
Welp, no need for a TR of my own. He pretty much caught it all.
I was wondering the same thing about the Wahoo Racers. . .decided to skip it because of the lines, etc. . .
I'll tack on a few additions to the Wizard's TR . . . since he basically said everything I was planning on saying.
1. American Eagle (I assume) has been recently retracked?? I rode Blue and hung on to dear life. . but it was smooth! Nice!
2. Deja Vu - - - Lesson of the day. . . don't scream for too long. I scared the bejeezus out of my Nephew because I blacked out on him . . . okay it scared the bejeezus out of me too. .but I don't blame the ride one bit on that one. Oh well. . .at least I came to long enough to enjoy the ride backwards.
3. Superman Ultimate Flight - - - Funny story here. . .so this lady (two trains before we were supposed to get on) SWEARS to the ride op that she is not strapped in tight enough. . .so after 5 minutes of tugging, readjusting, RESETS. . . .they're ready to go. . .put them in flight position, she starts SCREAMING "GET ME OFF! I WANT OFF NOW! YOU BETTER BE LETTING ME DOWN! I WILL DIE IF YOU DON'T LET ME DOWN. . THIS AIN'T SAFE!"
Reset. . . . .again. . .she gets out. . . but not before she makes her son/bro/cousin/whatever get out too. . .so 2 resets and 10 minutes later. . .they are set to go. . . I felt bad for the poor souls in the train behind them.
The ride iteslf isn't all that bad! The loop threw me way off. . .but great ride. . .still can't help but to miss Shockwave.
4. Raging Bull. . . I followed the construction of this baby monster and I never got the chance to ride it until last Friday. . .man it was definitely worth the wait. Nothing like getting on a coaster that already has sentimental value and taking it for a spin. . it's like that Mustang or Cobra. . .you KNOW it's going to be fantastic. . all you gotta do is get in and hang on.
I agree with the Wizard. . .thank goodness for Hot Weather, Taste of Chicago, and Cubs/Sox game. . .the lines were great. . and I was thrilled to get all of the coasters in without problems. . . .I also had a bad experience with Batman. . .seems to have roughened up in its age. . fun but starting to become a little painful. And the station was 10 degrees hotter than it was outside.
