SfGam 6/10/05 Too hot, but fun

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby DejaVu The Ride on June 11th, 2005, 12:04 am
It wasn't too bad today. I'll just tell you what I did and how long I waited. It was basically me and a group of 3 up to 6 or so.

Demon-Row 1, first dispatch of day. Ready at opening.
Iron Wolf-Row 1, only 3 people on train.(my group at the time.) Loading every other train.
V2-Row 5 or 6. Walk-on.
Batman-Toward front of train. 10 minutes.(Only one train early morning)
King Chaos-pretty much walk-on.
TIMS( :D ) or Ice Mountain Splash- waited 10 minutes. Should've been less but they were adding more boats.
Revy-Walk-on
AER-one train wait. Somewhere in the middle.
Firehouse Pizza was for lunch.
Watched the second half of the Looney Toons Party.
Sky Trek Tower-Walk-on.
Stargate-about 5-10 minutes. The are only running at half capacity.
Columbia Carousel-1 cycle wait.
DejaVu-waited about a half hour or so for it to open. Thanks to my alert eyes, we got 1st dispatch.(I was in 1a)
DejaVu-Went back and rode again. About a 15-20 minute wait for 8a.
AEB-The line wasn't too bad at all. We waited maybe 3 trains for a nice ride.(Maybe 15 minute wait at most.)
Time to go into the parking lot and we talked under a tree for awhile.(Maybe as long as an hour.)
Sat at Firehouse pizza for awhile to cool down.
Whizzer-About a station wait. We waited for the first 3 rows. I rode in the front.
Train- We went for "two" laps around the park. We were just too hot and needed to relax. Still no stop at Hometown station.
Batman-10 minute line(maybe 15).
East River Crawler-one cycle wait. Decent ride.
Sprayed people at Roaring Rapids.
Ragin' Cajun-25 minute wait. Good spin ride. At least to me. :( I had to beg everyone to go on it.
Whirligig-Walk-on. Loads of fun.
Raging Bull-15 minute wait. Row 9.
Viper-10-15 minute wait. Row 1:3.
Demon-2 train wait. Nice night ride.
Picked up some cheese fries.
DejaVu-Second to last ride of the night. About a 20-25 minute wait.
DejaVu-Last ride of the night. Obviously right after the second to last ride.

Here is just some stuff about the day.
1. DejaVu, IMS, and Condor were all on the rides closed list.(Condor is the only ride that did not open today.)
2. There are A LOT of stupid people who walk right past the security guard holding people before 10.
3. HH appeared to be very busy, but I am not too sure it actually hit capacity today.
4. AEB's second train is all together on the transfer track now. A maintenace worker was working on it and it should hopefully be ready to test soon.
5. Batman opened with 1 train, but lots of maintenance were working on the second one. The second train eventually opened.(This was the train with no wheel covers, but now 3 rows do.)
6. A Nascar racecar is now in front of the Pictorium. Check it out!
7. Trailblazer closed early.
8. The park seemed to be low on staff as Vu opened late and Raging Bull didn't get 3 trains until at least after 1:30.
9. VERY engergetic ops today.
10. Cajun was running 4 cars today.
11. The backlot was at least half full.
12. Saw a lot of people I know.
13. Cleaning trucks were cleaning the frontlot parking area that was closed off for HH contruction.
14. No fastlane today.
15. Bull and Batman were running the best today.
16. AER didn't open right at 10.
17. We had lots of water fights today. Good times.
18. We used fastlane for the bathroom. :D (Again, good times. )
19. Some of the foods locations we visited today were rather slow.
20. AER is heavily trimmed again.
21. I was out of the parking lot in 2 minutes! However, I'm sure others were not as lucky.
22. Lots of garbage cans overflowing which was kind of disappointing. Especially in the parking lot and Raging Bull's station.

I'm sure there's more, but I'm just very tired. Overall, A VERY fun day at the park, but was just VERY hot. Thanks to everyone who hung out in the group. Feel free to add more.

It really didn't seem that bad yesterday (for the lines). That waterpark really does wonders for the rest of the park. The cold days are the ones to worry about.

Why was IW sending every other train? I wonder where you were trying to get to first with Demon being your first ride of the day???? Lol

Nice TR, and glad to see you had fun. It's nice to hear the NASCAR car is already ready. AEB's second train wasn't all together just a few days ago, but it's good to see that work has been going into getting it ready for operation, too.

The Raging Bull crew (and one supervisor?) were one of the most energetic groups at the park. The Deja Vu crew would be right up there with the RB group. The least energetic group seemed to be the Viper guys.

To leave the parking lot madness at night, I usually head towards the exit near the Drop Off area. I found this a lot quicker than trying to exit through the parking booths.

we went first for demon because Deja Vu wasn't open and it was right there. the water fights were fun, but my hand still hurts! Great day overall, except for a few little things, like heat, and nearly feeling like i wanted to pass out after Deja Vu the first time from dehydration and heat and exhaustion, but besides that, it was good. No, i didn't get lost driving anyone home either, and we got out of the parking lot pretty quickly as well.

The ride ops send only full trains after park closing, and it's mostly luck ands moods of the ride ops.

Nice TR. I've also gotten second to last train and last train on Vu. Twice. One of those times they let the whole train ride one more time which was awesome, and I was in 1A which made it even better.

Just an update: Hometown Station is Operating today. But It closed early to work on lights and soudn for JJJ and put up the stairs.
They also painted the First float many colers and have the white lines painted on the ground. They had all the floats out and were powerwashing the trolleys, so it looks like the park is gearing up for summer.

Other things I noticed:
Castaway creek now operates strangly. If you rent a tube you can only get in near the Pink Flamingo. If you dont' rent a tube you can only get in by the future tornado site. You can still get out at either side though.

Most of Skull Island is still closed off.

HH has made significantly shorter lines for us in the park. Nothing except Vu had more then a 15 minute wait all day! It was amazing! I love HH!

Sorry, but we cannot answer that question.

Anyways, Raging Bull and other rides are better than Vu, so stay away and go to those.
