Mother's Day Weekend 2005

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby rct2wizard360 on May 8th, 2005, 9:57 pm
Talk about a great weekend and SFGAm!

May 7th, 2005:

After a chaotic drive on the highway of Triple-Checking we had everything, we got to the path at about 9:30. Parking lot looked decently full, and the waterpark looked good. The water rides were closed as was King Chaos. Heres how the day went.

Deja Vu:(walk-on) After running to it, only to be beat by Dan, Jeff, and Ally, I waited one cycle for 1a. Walked around and took another ride. It seemed alot faster than last year.

Raging Bull:(10min) The line was a little past the stairs. Waited for the back. Got far left. Good ride, I thought since it was my first ride of the season airtime would be better..........nope.

Viper:(2-3min) Back-row right away. Airtime machine as usual, though seemed better last year.

Demon:(2-3min) Waited for 6:1. No head banging on the corkscrews.

Iron Wolf:(walk-on) Back row outside left. Wasnt the refurbed train. Somewhat rough.

V2:(15-20min) Back row because front was loaded. Wasn't fun. I'm slowly beginning to hate this dang thing.

Ragin Cajun: Most miserable wait of the day (so I thought) Running 4 cars and it was stacking horribly. We got good spin though. Still wasn't worth that over an hour line. :x

I went on Sky Trek to get a view of what was going on with the waterpark. That is an awesome kiddy pool!

The rest of the day I just went roaming around arcades playing BeatMania and DDR and such. The lines got really hectic considering it was BoyScout/GirlScout/Band Awards day. Making almost everything a full queue. Not the kinda day I wanted but, all in all it was good.

May 8th, 2005:

Ate breakfast at IHOP, (agh too much food!) and arrived at the empty parking lot. I got to the season pass line, went through, and saw DanHockey04, and Dave. They fetched Nolan and we ran to Vu.

Deja Vu:(Umm what line?) We all got first dispatch in the 1 rows. Dave and Nolan I'm pretty sure left after that. Me and Dan took about 8 or 9 rerides without leaving the station. Who's to complain? It's leading my ride-count right now and its pathedic!

Demon:(1 cycle) After Nolan and Dave leaving us we hit up Demon 6:1. Not rough, and pretty fun.

American Eagle Red:(Walk-on) Shiney Red Train! 2:1. Massive airtime on this thing. Blue's track looks really nice from what they did.

Iron Wolf:(1 cycle) Didn't get the refurb. Back row. Okay I guess.

Batman:(1 cycle) 2nd to last row. Hauling still. Very smooth and fast!

Met back up with Dave and Nolan.......

Iron Wolf:(Walk-on) Front row on the Refurb. SO smooth. Corkscrew is actually really fun when your head isnt banging side to side!

American Eagle Red:(Walk-on) Same as last time....

Raging Bull:(1 or 2 cycle wait?) Outside right. Overal same as yesterday>

Superman Ultimate Flight:(Over 30min) We got in line, and......1 TRAIN OP?!?!?! Bull was running 3 now, I think Suf should run 2. We waited for Row 2, when they decide to add a train. This ride officially sucks now. Take it down and bring a new coaster there. Really rough. I think they took a train off after we left becuase both were dispatched empty.

Thats All for the weekend. I had to leave for a Mother's Day Party but it was still awesome!

Everything didn't have a full queue on Saturday. Only Superman did.

BTW, Superman's second train might have been unoperabe, hence the reason is wasn't being run. (Edit: re-read that part and noticed you said one was taken off.)

Sounds like a good time! BTW, did I see you Saturday?

I was behind you in line for Vu right when the chains dropped, In the black jacket....

EDIT: It was momentarily operable, hence Dan, Nolan, Dave, and I rode it..then it was dispatched empty...

Nice trip report Joe. Awesome that you got that many rides on Vu. It's a good thing I didn't go this weekend, since I was sick.

It was much better on Sunday than Saturday, I ended up with easily over 70 rides on Sunday. We got re-rides on like every ride in the park (except Cajun). Since Cajun had only 2 operating cars. Four cars were on the track, but 2 of them were next seat please, and another green car (5th car) on the transfer that has not gone through its safety runs.

Wow. I was on first train of Vu Sunday also. I rode it three times in a row without getting off. Were one of you guys wearing a SUF shirt? I think I sat in 2A or something like that. It was great though! I also think I saw you guys on IW in the front. I was wearing a polo Mr. Six shirt.

Me too. I was puking, and going to the bathroom too many times to count. :(
