SFOG TR 2/4

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby sixflagsguy5 on April 4th, 2005, 6:19 pm
We arrived in the parking lot around 10:30 and payed $12.00 for parking. We parked neer Georgia Cyclone. Once we got inside the park, we walked by Georgia Cyclone, and there was a sign and a worker standing next to it. They said that it wouldn't open for about 30 days. Then we walked to Acrophobia-Closed. Dahlonega Mine Train-Closed. Dejavu-Closed. Ninja-Closed. When we got to GASM, there were some people waiting in the station. My sister and I waited 30 minutes until they opened it. We got in back row. I liked this ride alot, but on the last bunny hill into the station, there is a huge headchopper affect. Then I ran back around and got into the front row of the last car. GASM only ran one train. Then we went over to ninja. Got in 2nd car in front row with a fifteen minute wait. Then we waited an hour for SUF, but after awhile they started sending out empty trains and then didn't send a train out for twenty minutes, so we left the line.

Next we headed over to Canyon Blaster. It was closed, so we headed to DMT. It was open and I waited about 30 minutes for it. After that I went over to Georgia Scorcher and waited 15 minutes for front row. This is my favorite ride in the park. Then we rode Free Fall. It has good air time, but is really rough at the part where it flips you back up.

I saw that Mindbender was sending out trains so I went over to it. It turns out that they were testing out the brakes and it would not open at all. :( I went into Batmans line next. I thought that the line would be similar to our queue line, but it turned out that there is a maze that is under the whole station and brake area. I waited 30 minutes for 6th row.

My mom told us that Canyon Blaster was open so we went over to it. We waited 20 minutes, and then right when we were about to get on it got stuck in the wheels that bring it back into the station. It was going to be my 100th coaster (if you include free fall rides) so I decided to wait. It took about ten minutes for it to get fixed and tested, but while they were doing all the fixing, I kept saying stuff to make the people in front of us leave the line (so I could get front row). It worked, and the ten people in front of me left the line.

After that, we headed over to a shop near Ninja to get my shirts that I wanted. I talked my mom into one last ride on Ninja, and rode in the same row as the first time. After that, we walked over to the entrance, and I saw that Georgia Scorcher was running two trains. I talked them into another last ride and got in back row, with at ten minute wait.

Then I saw Acrophobia testing. I had wanted to ride this the most of all the rides in the park, so I talked them into another last ride. We waited 15 minutes, because they kept closing to test. This was my second favorite ride in the park.

The day wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be when I saw all of the rides closed, but I still didn't get to ride alot of the stuff I wanted to. Most of the rides ended up running two trains as the day went on.

Wow that didn't sound like much fun. Not getting to ride Mindbender is by far the worst thing to happen. Nice TR.

Sorry to hear that all the rides at SFOG are still down. I swear that park is falling apart. Sure hope that doesn't happen to us on opening day.

It actually wasn't that bad, because I ran out of time. We needed to leave by 6:00 and we ended up leaving at 7:30, and I still didn't have enough time to go back to SUF.

I think that park (out of the parks I've been to) has the best rollercoasters. However, I think they have poor management, and TERRIBLE mechanics. If a row is broken on SUF, just block a row instead of sending an empty train. I imagine BTR was one train operation.

That park should get a higher attendance than SFGAm, but it doesn't. Do you see why? It is open almost two months before we are open. They are now open daily.
