SFGAm 9/11, A day of change

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Danhockey04 on September 11th, 2004, 8:17 pm
Corwds: moderate
Weather: sunny and hot
Ride closures: IMS and Condor

Waterpark changes: The bus lot has been removed even more. They have remove the back corner of the bus lot by Eagle.

Changes:
Soutwest Arcade is now closed for the setup of Sleepy Hollow 3D, we
walked in and saw that it was half setup.

Chubasco has been enclosed by the boards, but the lights are still on.

Trailblazer had the walls setup around it for Sleepy Hollow

Condor is down for the rest of the season. It is being refurb'd for the 2005 season, and excepted to open early 2005. They had the sign out.

Took out half of the Fright Fest setup for the concert.

New item for sale--Mr. Six bow ties and Mr. Six glasses in the same package

Notables:
SUF had a one-train op the whole day (the train with row 3 broken).

Deja Vu opened at 11:10 am, and stayed open for the whole day.

Raging Bull had a 3 train op after 11:00.

My Day:

Alright, I got there at 8:50 and the parking lot was crowded because of the cheerleader contests. I got to SUF in the morning (let us in at 9:50), got first dispatch front row left seat, and was informed that it was a one train op for the whole day.

From SUF, we went to Deja Vu, but it was closed, so I went on Demon. I got 2nd dispatch on Demon in 6:1.

Then we went to RB, got back row left seat.

I then saw Deja Vu cycle, so we ran back to it, but it never opened. So I went on Demon (walk on) again in 6:1.

After Demon, on our way to Viper , we saw Deja Vu cycle again, and it kept cycling for 6 rides and then finally opened. I got on first dispatch Deja Vu 1A left seat. We went around after that and got 3B, all in 25 minutes.

We went to Raging Bull (10 min), and by then it was a 3 train op. Got back row left seat again, best seat on the ride.

Then went to Chubasco, spun it extremely fast that my friends came off really sick, but I didnt.

Then we rode American Eagle both fowards and backwards (walk ons), both heavily trimmed, but giving it an amazing race again.

We then went to King Chaos (walk on), which we got stuck for 10 minutes, we were flipping uncontrollably after the free flips that we were still going partically upside down when over the water.

We got off of King Chaos and went to BTR (20 min), row 8 left seat. Always brings a great ride.

We then went to hit Viper, which surprised me to only be a 12 minute wait at 2:30. Got back row left seat, awesome airtime.

I really wanted to ride Chubasco again, so I did by myself because no one would ride with me because they were afraid. I was spinning so fast again. :P

Then we went to Whizzer and waited only 10 minutes for that ride, back row, and it is fun as always.

Revolution was next which brings the same great ride every time I go on it, I love that ride.

Iron Wolf was next, which was kind of long. We waited 20 minutes for it, and it was still the same thing, a head banger that is extremely fun.

My friend really wanted to ride V2, so we did, it broke down while waiting so our wait ended up being only 25 minutes. That ride can be fun if you really want it to be.

Then I went to Orbit to finish my day, and great fun it was, got 3 inversion, kind of.

When I was leaving, the carousel seized operation because a young child threw up and then fainted on it. Everyone from the park was there, management, secruity, and medics. I really hope everything is fine because it really did not look good.

Wow, a lot of changes. Now I'm going to see 11 year olds running around trying to look like Mr. Six.(I thought the Superman capes were enough.)

Were they parallel parking the cars again since more of the lot is torn up?

I like the Condor idea for refurbishment. I guess they wanted to start earlier this year so it will open up for opening day next year. Maybe they will finally run a better cycle next year, too.(Wishful thinking.) :D

They were parallel parking along the main drag all the way to where you can drive under the Eagle.

They also decided to open up the Preferred parking area which I got lucky and was able to park there.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

yes, parallel parking did occur along RB's fence and Six Flags Avenue, but never completely filled.

I'm betting that they will have the back lot ready for Fright Fest then. Otherwise, you will have to get there very early. :(

Not sure. It does bring crowds, but I thought it was a fine trade off with all the different girls I met today. :D

Cheerleader competition was a mess this morning, half went to SWT for competion other ones went to rides, even they got in 45 minutes before me I still beat them to S:UF (oh yeah, they did have a chain by the carousel ).
As far as actual changes more of the Hometown GMH/FL building was painted yellow, they put a sign over the FL center saying it's the FL center, the America bands were performing at the Fright Fest display, Chubasco and Rue were boarded up (both being open), a huge chunk of lot next to Eagle has been ripped out.

Wait, Danhockey, were you waiting in front of DV before it opened? I knew you guys were from the boards. I was like 2 people behind you in a green shirt, with a girl in pink pants and white shirt. I remember hearing you guys talking and I knew you were enthusiasts. And either you or someone you were with was wearing a Cedar Point shirt right?

Yes, I was in the very front of the line, the one wearing the Mr. Six shirt, but I am the only one that posts here at this site. The other three were friends, the one in the CP shirt loves Cp more than SFGAm (I told him he was an idiot, but that is my opnion), but he does not post here.
