It was VERY BUSY TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I arrived at the park right around 900am and found the gates open to the parking lot and it parked right up from next to the perferred parking.
As i waited in the season pass area to get into the park the crowds didnt seem to bad(people talking during national anthem is very upsetting and big kudo's to SFGAM to start the day this way, im not aware of other parks doing it).
Made my way to the rope drop for Raging Bull and was able to keep up with the teens(glad they watch tv/play video games and dont exerciase like they should) and was able to get on the first ride of the day on RB. Was very glad to see 3 train operation right away(not the norm in my experience )and thought it was a good sign. After a very good ride i got back in line again and after about a 15 minute wait rode in the back a second time. And this is when i spotted trouble!!! The right lane on the freeway going north was backed up for at least a half a mile(likely with people trying to exit so they could get into the park) and a long line of cars waiting to pay for parking.
I then went to The Giant Drop for 2 quick drop rides with only a one to two wait and no letup in cars entering the parking lot or the freeway backup.
I then headed to Viper and as i walked into the que line people were exiting and saying the ride broke down. Being postive i went to the back row and waited abput 5 minutes till maintence showed up and got the ride working again and no test runs were even done. So i waited 2 trains and rode in the back till i again exited and rode agin with about a 15 minute wait and the backup on the freeway was still there so i knew things would not be good.
I then went to American Eagle and rode blue/backwards and had a very good ride with pops of air and olnly waited for about 3 trains for the front row of the ride. As i goy off i saw that the wait got much longer.
I then went to batman and saw that the wait extended out to almost the whole park area with all que lines open. I finally rode the ride after a 50 minute wait(which was made much worse by fastlane guests).
At this time i met up with wife and kids and as we made are way around the park we saw THAT EVERY ride had a very long line. Went to the Sky tower which usually has a short line if any at all in my experience and the line had 3 que lines being used. Once on the Sky Tower we had a great view and saw Chicago in the background much better than usual and also saw that over half of the far northern parking lot was full with more cars stil coming in.
At this time we took a nice stroll around the park to people watch and see the lines which were long for every ride.
Whizzer had every line open with them all filled and the line extending out of the que. Even American Eagle was using que lines under the tent. Iron Wolf was using both sets of que area's as was Batman as they were full and the line extended out of that area. Superman's waits also had all que lines being used the the wait outside the line extnded to the Rest.
It was so busy even Stargate had a long line outside. It must have been the great weather because i have never seen the park this busy on a week day and im glad im a season passholder as we left around 230pm due to the crowds and had a excellant meal ay Max And Erma's across from Gurnee Mills till we drove home.
A very good day for SFGAM but not for people who wanted to ride rides and im glad i didnt pay full admission or near it as today you werent going to get on alot of rides.

Well you can only expect it to be busy. I'm assuming a lot of families with little kids? It was real nice out, read to suceed expires in 3 days so they're all using them now.
(glad they wtach tv/paly video games and dont exerciase like they should)
So true.
Was very glad to see 3 train operation right away(not the norm in my experience )and thought it was a good sign
They have everyday for awhile now (except when its raining).
that over half of the far northern parking lot was full with more cars stil coming in.
Oh man that ones a killer (also a long walk to the park).
Good day for SFGAm, bad day for guests. I'm sorry you had a bad day. How full was the other lot when you left? I think you saw the north lot halfway full before you left. So, that's why I'm asking.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
I was at the park today also. I was on 1st train of the day on Superman back row. Then did a walkon of batman and V2. walked to AE. Red was not running yet I wasn't in mood to go backwords. Decieded to check out a few shops to find a bobble head (no luck). Went on Triple play (first time this season - what a classic!). I noticed it was starting to get packed so I did a lap on the train to just enjoy the nice day. I then looked again for bobble heads in the shops in front of park(still no luck). I then had to head home to get ready for work. As I left at 11:20 the front lot was all full and they where starting to load back lot. The tollway was backed up all the way to route 60 caused by Grand ave exit backed up on tollway. I am glad I left when I did.
I also visited the park today but couldnt get out until 12:30 because of work. Traffic was nasty and we didnt get there until 2:00. When I saw the north overflow lot being used I was amazed. Never thought they used that. we ended up parking several rows back in there. Took us a good 4 minutes just to get to entrance and went to RB first. Gotta love those three trains with 36 capacity each because despite all lines being open, the wait was only about 1:19. Not great at all but I suppose it could have been much worse. Next we went to AE which once again amazed me with people lined up all the way out of the lines. My freinds and me were just saying how they should knock all those lines down because they never use them. Turns out they do I guess. On a side note, while waiting under the tent we got to watch two pigions totally "doin" it up in the rafters. You never know what you'll see at the park. That was about a 45 min wait. Next we went to V2 which was the usual hour wait and capped off the day with a 1:50 min wait for Super man in the back. Awesome in the dark. Wow, 4 whole rides in 7 hours. That was really sad. Maybe this coming CAD will turn out good and redeem today's pitiful trip.
Unless you pass out from lack of oxygen, the first drop isn't tall enough
Your telling me it was full I went today ( thursday ) and it was packed I got their at 11 because I had something to do and it was full we went on the triple play which was just a long line no U's and it was fun ( we went on it because my little cousin which was good because I didnt care I go their every week she goes there once so she got to ride whatever ) anyways then we were lucky De Ja Vu was up so we went der not that long of a wait no U's till it opened up whenwe got there an hour and a half wait front row to and it broke down twice. Then we wanted to go on Batman it was full and Rajun Cajun full so we just ate. When we came back it was even wrose which my little cousin WANTED to go on Triple Play so we had to go on it again and it filled up the whole line then Ragin Bull went outside and got me kind of mad because she wanted to leave and I wanted to go on Batman because its a tradition but at least I went on one of my favorite rides so we just went home and I also wanted to ride as much because I start school and Im not going to have time during school since homework. But the reasong why its packed always in August in my opinion is because the kids and teens go there before school.
When i was on Sky Tower and when i left the park i saw no empty spaces in the front parking lot and cars were being dirfected to the back lot, even around viper/RB was full.
King Chaos was closed all day, but workers were working on something. DV wasnt open at the start of the day but did open sometime between 1100 am and 1130am.
I cant say i had a bad day because i did get on most of the rides i wanted, just not as often as i would have liked. But for the size of the crowd the employee's were very good/bathrooms clean and guests were well behaved. Just that even to get a icee for the kids took 15/20 minutes in SW Terr.
I dont go on weekends to avoid crowds so i was very suprised to see it this busy on a thursday.
I either might go next saturday or Wednesday so hopefully its not full I wanna go all day. I didnt even bother riding Superman I wanted to ride Batman because it was long but its like a walk on basically Im just lucky they dont use the entrance in Orleans place nomore were it went around the East River Cralwer.
Oh yea if you guys have the balls to say it ( not in a bad way ) ask somebody in Yankee Harbor and be like what do you think this area is because I did to my cousin and this guy behind me in Jacks Snacks and they were wrong so SFGAm should do something about that just like boats and light house.
I went today too. I arrived at about 8:30 PM stayed till close. The crowds were ridiculous. It took me about 3-5 minutes to walk from the admission to the entrance of Orleans Place. I couldnt get through, tons of little kids and families. I was getting head aches by the sounds of all of the little kids high voices, oh well I guess its good for the park that the families are coming in.
Almost all rides had a full queue (only rides that didnt were water rides). Only rides went on were IMS, RB, and Triple Play.
A few notes: The fountain by Orbit now has a red light shining on it, it looks pretty cool, also by Demons corscrews and waterfall, they have red lights shining on it now as well.

They do still use that entrance sometimes, but only on extremely busy days.
I know this has nothing to deal with this topic but is this site http://----.com related anything to this site because it basically has the same thing we do and if its NOT related to this we should COMPETE!
I was at the park today too and I couldn't believe how crowded it was for a thursday. So during the day I did all of the water rides since they had no wait and I did all of the coasters at night since the waits went down.
