Let us know how your day at the park was.

Today I got out of school early fro Prom, but I'm only a sophmore so that means SfGaM for me . I still didn't get to the park until 3:30 becasue of some tempory delays. When I got in the parking lot I noticed that there were literally and I mean literally more buses then cars, it was crazy

Got there and went straight to Mardi Gras because the non-operational rides weren't listed on the board, I was guess because there were to many and I was right. Cajun and Chaos were both closed, but Chaos looks ready and Cajun's station was comming along nicely. Along with those 2 rides, Sceinic Railway, AE Blue, Deja Vu, Splash Waterfalls, Loggers Run, Great America Raceway, Trailblazer, and Triple Play were all closed.

OK so its pretty crowded for a weekday in May thanks to the damn buses. Found a short line in Iron Wolf about 10 minutes. Raging Bull was nex and it was using almost the full first queue house but with three trains, so I knew it would be fast and it was about 25 minutes, and when we got off the whole queue house was empty, it was crazy, I guess all the buses were leaving because it was only a 10 minute wait then.

After some RB action we headed over to Viper which was a short wait as well, 5 minutes for the back. The seatbelts I don't mind because they don't take away from the experience, but they stappled me in and my legs were kiling me afterwards from all the air time. Viper now has an On Ride Photo.

Went back to RB for another short wait about 10 mins. Then needed to get at least 1 Demon in and did it was a walk on, figured the other lines were probaly short now so decided against sticking to Demon.

Whizzer short wait about 8 minutes, decent ride. Now it was time for the clouds to roll in and I don't just mean clouds I mean the dark dark green and black clouds. Got in line for S:UF and it was about a 15 minute wait and it looked really bad when we were in the station and everyone was cheering when a train left the station as they were a ride closer to getting their turn. Got on and it was fun looking up at the green sky in the pretzel. Green sky rides rule! Got back in line as now the station was empty. Got on again for another nice view ride, I decided on one more ride as I still needed to get on B:TR and V2 before I could call my day complete.

B:TR was a walk on for 7th row. By now it was looking as though it might all blow over. Ran to V2 and it was a walk on. Heres how my V2 experience played out. Launch up the front spike cool nice and normal. Going through the station and up the back spike normal again. Through the station and up the front spike for the 3rd time, a little bit of a drizzle not to bad barely noticeable. Through the station and up the back spike for the 2nd time with holding brake still a drizzle. Through the station and up the front spike for the 3rd and final time, and it is pouring with rain drenching my face.

So of course the ride is shut down, it is about 6:58 now and I am in a desperate search for my final ride of the day. I see two kids get on Whirligig, try to get on but the op says it is closed yet he didn't even start their ride yet and the announcement of the parks closing didn't come on yet. Ok so I'm still walking through the pouring rain look for a ride. B:TR..... closed. Jester's Wild Ride......OPEN!!!! I am now soaking wet and as I get in line the park cloing announcement goes on so I got on just in time. Had the whole car/float to myself and go myself a nice little rain ride on it. The op asked me if I was actually enjoying it, because all this water was falling from the top of it on my head, I just nodded yes .

Overall it was a pretty good day at the park, the rain was kind of refreshing in a way I thought. Afterward I took my soaked body over to Subway for a nice little dinner and when drive home I saw 2 overturrned cars and the rain never let up, in fact its still going as I type now and the park closed almost 3 hours ago!

Is the new Cajun Grill (I think that's the name) open? I'm assuming they had it opened for Media Day, as the Chicago Sun-Times mentioned it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I saw some people in it, not sure though, I wasn't really looking that way.

It was open for Media Day people. I don’t think it is ready for opening to the GP Yet. There were like 4 tables it in when it was open for Media Day Attendees, and I don’t recall there being a menu board were you can order from. I know it closed soon after the park opened.

Good TR. I won't start a new topic, but I'll just post a few observations from yesterday's trip.
I got to the park at about 9:30 am, and the rain was just beginning to pour. Once inside the park, you can hear the cables on Sky Trek Tower banging loudly. Before the mass exodus of students to the only opened store, I caught a glimpse of the trash cans near Stargate being flung around (I didn't think it was too windy).
Once the park officially opened, nothing was open in SouthWest Territory yet, except Chubasco. After riding Chubasco, my friend and I decided to wait for Raging Bull (the rain still coming down, but lightly now). While waiting for Raging Bull to open, we notice the cars for Giant Drop were stuck mid-way.
The crew for Ragin' Cajun was working on the hotel/que house structure and other parts of the ride as well. The water dummies for King Chaos were gone.
The "World of Magic" show was pretty entertaining. I won't spoil anything, but the pre-show got some chuckles/laughs from the crowd.
We did notice the Demon crew racing to see who can check the harnesses the quickest, too.
The Tornado Warning for the park came on the speakers at about 6pm. Today was a little more crowded than last week's "rainy Friday,'' but it wasn't a bad day once the rain let up.
