SfGaM 5/9/04

Let us know how your day at the park was.

May 9th 2004

Today(Mother's Day) marked my 1st of many visits to SfGaM. It was such a nice day out. About 85-90 degrees out and sunny for most of the time minus the one storm that hit. It was extremely empty to which really surprised me somewhat because it was a beautiful day out for most of the time, then again Mother's Day is historicly empty.

There were alot of noticeable changes to the park. Lots of new paint everywhere, newly paved pathes almost all around. Revoultion fits in perfectly with the County Fair theme, it looks like it was there for years. The new Mardi Gras area was comming along very nicely. It looks like Jester's Wild Ride, Big Easy Balloons, and King Chaos are all about done, and Ragin' Cajin is comming along nicely. The new rides really liven up that area and it really needed it too.

Well heres how my day went. Got there around 1:30, and got my season pass processed right away. I saw Viu was closed so.... Then off to Demon my 1st coaster in over 6 months! It was running pretty good. In the brakes run I saw Vu was open so I got in line and waited about 30 minutes for 2B. Right after I got off it started to rain and lightning out so it closed. I found it kind of funny, but then I realized that every ride closed ..

So every ride was closed for about 30 minutes or so. I walked around the park to find a few flats open but decided to pass them up. Then finally at about 3 I saw Vu testing so I got in line. I got into the station and was next in line and then the restraints wouldn't come up so it was about a 25 minutes delay, and ended up being almost an hour wait! After that mess hit Demon again walk on. Then Finally experience a Huss, Revoultion. Went on twice, it gets pretty intense towards then end I really liked it.

Then Iron Wolf, which was only a few minute wait. AE Blue which was down when I got into the station and took about 10 minutes. Now it was time to get alot of rides in a short period of time.

V2 was only about 8 minutes for front row! Then hit B:TR walk, V2, two more times which were both walks, B:TR again. Then S:UP, 4 times all walks except for one when it broke down. I noticed the Triple Play cars behind Condor on that service road. They are now colored Green, Orange and Yellow. 1/3 of the cars Green, 1/3 Yellow, and the last 1/3 of them are Orange. It looks like it will be nice after it gets back up.

All in all in was agreat day at the park, by the way I left around 7. So heres the recap.

Vu- 2 rides
Same old Vu, with its random breakdowns that are frequent, but I'm glad to see it opened, and its funny that I matched how many rides I had in August last year on my 1st visit this year.

Demon- 2 rides
Eh kind of slow today, I still liked it as always.

Revoultion- 2 rides
Great flat! It was everything I thought it would be and more. Really intense in the 2nd part, got to my stomach.

Iron Wolf- 1 ride
It was running good today can't really think of anything to say about it.

AE Blue- 1 ride
The seatbelts don't change the ride at all. still get good airtime and all. It actaully felt pretty smooth in the helix in my opinion today.

V2- 3 rides
Good intense launches today, looks like a good season for V2.

B:TR- 3 rides
I thought afetr hearing on some other sites that B:TR was running slow that I was in store for a slow ride, bu today it was running great, the same intense ride as always, maybe because it was warmer today. The paint job looks pretty good, but I still miss the grafiti.

S:UF- 4 flights
Great to see S:UF as a walk on I wanted to take advantage of it. I wish I couldve got more rides though as it won't be a walk on much longer.

I liked today great for riding though I'm mad I didn't even step foor in Southwest. Which meant missing Viper and Raging Bull, but there's always next week .

Mike, I hope you read this part!
After it stopped raining Mike(Galvan316) kept saying to go to Deja Vu right away. We didn't and he kept saying we should have. Just wanted to point out what could have happened to us lol.

Anyhow, SFGAmOwnz I agree that Batman was running fast today. Felt completely different from how the ride was running last weekend. It was alot warmer out so Im sure it was the coolness that slowed it down last weekend.

Good TR
Go Bulls!

Good day at the park. At least you got very nice weather for your first day at the park this season. Last weekend was rough on the fingers. Kinda makes me wish I was there.

Anyways, you missed a great cubs game though!

Sunday was a great day! I can't believe you didn't step foot in SWT. I spent most of the time there! :) I went on RB 7 times in a row! Then by around 3 I had 11 rides on it!

Yeah, I know I was so mad I missed it. It sounded like a real thriller with them being down in the bottom of the 10th 2 outs and A-Ram hit the homer to tie it.
