Wow. My first trip since May and boy how crowded it was. Flash pass line itself was bigger than I ever saw! Because I only make 3-4 trips a season, I know what I want to do fairly easily and what I can skip for next time. My brother dropped me off around 10:30 and went to Gurnee Mills. cars were still busy coming in the lot. Hurricane Harbor was said to hit capacity later on. Weather decent with low humidity and part clouds part sun.
First ride was Bull. Never waited in the first waiting area before the line to the stairs but all in all not bad I think it all took 15-20 minutes in all. 45 seconds or less on loading for the team which is great. Awesome ride and glad I sat in the back for the first time though I barely felt any difference. 3 girls next to me said how fairly "slow" it was and not the scariest ride people make it seem. I agree.
Since I am human and don't pay attention to corners or hidden areas of the park what the heck is Underground Junction again? Picnic area?
King Chaos closed all day. Otherwise everything ran nice my first ride on Dipper! And probably last as the thing felt like 20 seconds when the wait was 25 minutes at least and this was before 12 noon. The one train really slows everything down. Nice ride but not for me. Finally did notice Superman IS very faded and new paint is needed. It has been 7 years. Sad to see the former Chang area just bare and untouced. More would be done by now if plans did not change.
Like I said lines and crowds were much bigger than I remember almost as big as my trip closing day 2008. Having ridden everything already and knowing how little is to be expected these days, I do think one trip us left this season and no season pass next year unless that newer aged Splash Water Falls comes to be. No ride totals. No need. Did all but Batman, Wolf and STT. Superman was at least an hour and a half when I left at 3:30. Maybe more. Might return in Fright Fest as I missed it last year.
What is it with all the Fright Fest decor already? MUCH more than I ever saw 2 months in advance. Too fast Six Flags!
Only thing I've seen for frightfest this early is when they advertise it on the bilboards throughout the park and there is usually a little set up of decorations by Rue le Dodge also for advertising.
The park was hiring actors/whatever for FF which would explain why the decor was out already. Cedar Point also had signs up for Halloweekends hiring as well.
I don't want to start a rumor here, but is it possible that we witnessed Pictorium's last season? C'sGAm has been down for years. maybe they need extra storage space now that they lost SSA? I don't really know, but I hope not...
Also, if Six Flags does in fact drop their stake in DCP (Which I think they will), then what would they have to show in the Pictorium? Their IMAX connections have stopped.
Losing Pictorium would be unlikely but it would provide with a lot of room in that area with Chang's near home.Just shocked it is early August and it is already closed for a while till October.
It makes sense to me why it's closed. The new guy probably understands it was a stupid pointless show while Shapiro probably thought those shows were the best shows in the world.
