July 4th 2010

Let us know how your day at the park was.

This was a very important trip as it was a gift me and my wife did for my brother who will be 29 on the fifth.

We started out the day with the water park because it was insane even getting into the park and they kept telling every one that they were expecting the water park to be maxed out quickly so we stood in line for about an hour to get in. We stayed there for about three hours doing as much as we could. Around 2 we went back to the car to eat lunch and plan out the rest of the day.

We hit Home town fun machine first since it had no line.
Then it was time for us to dance with Mr. Six and take some pictures
Saw Show Stoppin, at 3:30 it was ok we didn't know a lot of the songs.
After that we headed for Little dipper because we all wanted to ride it
Then the rain came. We decided to wait it out by eating in the place by V2.
Porky, Marvin the martian, and pepe le pew were also there messing with every one and taking pictures.
Porky then kept following my wife around and tryed to pick her up. We all had fun till the rain stopped and we started to leave. At this point it was almost impossable to get on any ride so we walk around took some more pictures with who ever we could find and ended the day on triple Play. Not a bad day and we all had fun.

To tired to post a ride count and in the end does it really matter?

SO glad I did not go today. Would have had to get a flash pass and spend almost $60. But hey it is the 4th.

I was out at the park yesterday from opening till around 8 PM. I did not go in the water park at all, and had a good time. I don't feel like doing my own TR, so I'll add mine here.

As far as rides, let me try to remember... I know I never waited more then 20 minutes for any one ride. Most of the coasters were walk-ons or at most a 2 train wait for any given seat. The list below is not in the order I rode them, just how I remember what I rode.

Viper -2 (first ride was solo at 10 AM)
RB - 2
Batman - 3 (did the swap seat thing between cycles)
Iron Wolf - 2
Whizzer - 1
Triple Play - 1
King Chaos - 1
Ragin’ Cajun - 1 (used single rider line)
Lobster - 1 (yeah I know..its not called that anymore, but that is what I call it)
Train - 1 trip around the park
Demon - 2
Eagle Red / Blue - 10 to 15(did not keep exact count..this is a guess, and I did ride both sides multiple times)

I was up at Eagle (Blue side) when the rain hit, and was on the last ride before they stopped running due to the rain. While it did start out nice (the rain felt good), that quickly turned to PAIN as the rain was coming down so hard and with such big drops that we had to ride with our arms over our face. The people in the front of the train (I was in row 2, car 1) were screaming in pain the whole ride with their arms over their faces.

After the rain delay, I stayed on Blue, and noticed that Red was blowing through Brake 5, so I took a ride on that side. Sure enough, Brake #5 was WIDE OPEN (I sat in the front car to verify this). Brake #6 was ineffective due to the rain (overspeed brake #6 light was blinking on the operator panel). However, the fun came to an end a few cycles later due to a trouble light. I was waiting in line for the front row and saw the light come on the panel. One train was at the base of the lift hill about 15 feet up, and the 2nd was on the brake run into the station. After maintenance came out and reset things we were back in action. However, with the system reset, Brake #5 was back on, as well as the one going out of the barrel. Brake #6 was also working "as normal". Now, for those that know me, I would rather ride Eagle (either red or blue side) without Brake 5 or 6. However, I know why they are there. It just makes for a better ride, IMHO.

With it being around 8 PM, I left.

Overall, a great day.
