6-28-10 Where did all these people come from?

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Jackluver18 on June 28th, 2010, 11:35 pm
Got to the park about 1:30 because my mom had to work, I never come on Monday's and I couldn't believe how crowded it was. The backlot was ridiculously packed, I was like where did everyone come from? It was insane. So first ride was TDK because I thought Looney Tunes Dance off started at 2 because I wanted to see a friend of mine which I found out didn't start till 4:15, so after TDK was Columbia and STT because my mom wanted to go on those. After that was Whizzer aka Grown Ups the ride. Skipped Viper and went to go see Show Stoppin at 3:30 which was good. After that was Bull front row Red train, still great ride also they had to open the second queue line due to crowds and were handing out the Vu boarding passes to prevent linejuping. I then went on Demon because my mom doesn't do rides, I wonder when Yellow train will be back if ever. I noticed Loggers and Clipper were closed but Rapids was open and the waterpark was jammed packed again. We were gonna go there but just didn't have enough time.

Then went on American Eagle Red Side, had fun on that. Next was Dipper, they were going to make us wait an hour to get on, I have never seen Dipper's line that long and plus I had the exit pass and you have to wait half the time everyone else waits not how long the line is. So we finally got on Dipper, my mom wanted to go on Dipper since it was little haha she about had a heart attack going down the first drop. After Dipper, I went on V2 front row and then next was SUF and to end the night did 4 more rides on Whizzer because my mom wanted to get a spot for parade. She liked the parade alot, so that was good. They had some sound problems with parade tonight like the music was skipping or something, I recorded it but it didn't turn out so great so I'll record it Saturday. All in all it was a good day there was just a lot of people in the park, I don't know how many there were but I couldn't believe Dipper's line was an hour, it didn't look like it to me. Oh well, had a fun day. Going again Saturday. I'm afraid to know what Saturday is going to be like and also I only took a few pictures because it was crowded and we did a lot of jumping around, I might take some on Saturday we'll see.

Totals
Whizzer-5
Bull-1
Demon-1
Eagle-1
Dipper-1
V2-1
TDK-1
SUF-1
Columbia-1
STT-1
Total= 14, not bad for getting there at 1:30

Damn, was planning on going Thursday but now I am definitely second guessing it... big crowds just put a damper on my day.

May have to use my once annual Flash Pass

Just consider everyday to be crowded unless there is a threat of severe weather, every time I've gone since june 1 it has been real crowded, the economy is back for six flags wooohooo j/k. And to top it off there are always like 20- 30 buses there WTF, and when hurricane harbor closes for the day stay away from SWT it is mad busy.

We tried to get out after parade right by STT and it was jam packed, so people were hopping the fences to avoid the crowds and a whole bunch of security showed up.

From mid-June until the park stops being open daily, the park is packed. It's true of many parks in the country.

It didn't used to be that way. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday used to be the best days to go. The last time I went was on a Wednesday last year and there were more people there than I had ever seen. I don't know what changed to make it packed 7 days a week. I'd guess the low season pass price and that waterpark have a lot to do with it.

Water Park should have been quite dead last 2 days. Last thing to do in the low 70's is think about swimming.

It might be because the Buy one, Get One Free is ending July 9th, and last minute people are coming in now. And remember that your ending rides are going to be more crowded than before because of other rides being closed due to the parade - Closed rides are: Big Easy Balloons, King Chaos, Condor, Sky Trek Tower, Triple Play, and Hometown Fun Machine (I think). And Revolution is busted!

Cheap season passes and cheap bus fair make the park a Mon-Fri baby sitter. Most of the time, Sunday tends to be the best day to go during the summer.

No Revvy Saturday either. Either heavy maintenance, or not enough staffing.

I wish HUSS could come in and refurb all of our HUSS rides.

- Make King Chaos stop squeaking.
- Make Revvy reliable, and make outward facing seats.
