I thought about making a PTR, but I'm too lazy to keep track of my camera.
We left my house at around 7:30 in the morning. The drive up there isn't bad at all actually. No construction causing delays, just a nice quiet drive up there on a beautiful weekend.
First thing I noticed when we got there was the eight dollar parking, and believe me, parking a car for eight dollars feels great (compared to parking at Six Flags at least, I ain't payin no eight dolla to park at foo fo less.) Right away you can tell the locals are extremely bored of this place. Memorial Day weekend and the lot is all centered around the entrance. I wonder if this place ever gets crowded?
We did Shivering Timbers first. Rode in the back on the green train I believe? First time I've felt air on a coaster after the first drop since I rode Voyage back in '05. It was great getting some awesome airtime over each and every hill. Extremely fun ride, and it was extremely refreshing to get thrown out of my seat that much. Thrown around in it on the helix? Not so much.
I don't really have much to say about Wolverine Wildcat. I enjoyed that it ran along side of the lake. The bunny hills from the first turnaround were nice, as well as the double down on the way back.
Corkscrew was up next. Longest wait of the entire day, for what I think was car 4 or 5? I mean, granted they have to release the harnesses manually from the back of each car, but SEVEN MINUTE DISPATCHES?! Not only did it have to be done manually, but Cedar Fair and their glorious seatbelts on Arrow's was there to make this an even more pleasurable experience. It was a miserable ride and I'm still debating why I even bothered with it. The inside of the station reminds me of an inner city school circa 1960. Terrible terrible terrible.
The BIG story of the day. Riding my first SLC. Ever since I saw pictures of Infusion at Pleasure Beach, my attitude faded from the "f@&# Vekoma" mentality and actually wanted to give one of these things a chance. The park did a GREAT job with this coaster. They landscaped it great, and really just made it the nicest thing in the entire park. The queue line is right under some of the best parts of the ride, and frankly, it's just fun to look at it. Lot's of foot choppers the entire ride, and I think thats what really won me over. Now I will say that my first ride was in the front row, so that probably had something to do with it not bothering me so much. But my second was in row three, and thats when there was some more classic Vekoma moments. Usually trademarked by "OW OW OW OW OW OW"
Nothing else really stood out to me. Mad Mouse and Zach's Zoomer were just another two coasters off the checklist. The water park was great, and I really enjoyed their Tornado.
Honestly if you have the chance to head up there, go. It's $25 for a few coasters and a decent waterpark.

Same problem last year on closing weekend for myself.
the station on corkscrew is known around the world and was 99.5% of the allure of the ride, at least until they painted it and nicened it up, now it's barely worth riding

Wheres this?
There are two different boats that leave Muskegeon to Milwaukee every day over the summer. However, they are pricey as hell. Like 70 bucks a person and 100 for a car.
And manual release OTSRs are no excuse for 7 minute dispatches.
