Six Flags St. Louis 4/3/2010

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby bobbinbop20 on April 8th, 2010, 8:48 pm
This past weekend we also went to Six Flags St. Louis for our first time.

Here's some Raw Footage of Freeze, Evel Knievel, and THBS If you care..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAZb6iCkwwU

I really liked SFSTL and enjoyed my time there. The park is beautiful and was very clean as well, plus all employees seemed to be working quick and were very friendly, I'm liking the "new Six Flags" more and more everyday, also a lot of things looked touched up and "new" for example Ninja's brand new paint looks absolutely great and really drew attention to the ride... even if it isn't the greatest ride ever.

Anyway, 5 words: Evel Knievel and Mr. Freeze! These two rides were just plain kick ass, never in a million years did I imagine Mr. Freeze to be so intense and so much fun! I was hoping Mr. Freeze wasn't gonna be like Flight of Fear at Kings Island (which sucks) but thankfully my expectations were pretty much blown away after I rode it in the front row, It really is one of the "Coolest Coasters on the Planet" Great hang-time especially on the return trip and you gotta love the couple seconds of weightlessness you get on the vertical spike. If you go to SFSTL DON'T MISS OUT ON MR. FREEZE!

Evel Knievel was just as good as I was expecting it to be, maybe even a little bit better, Almost Terminator good! All and all who doesn't love a smooth GCI in those incredibly comfortable Millennium Flyers, with an abundance of those irresistible little "pops" of airtime :) Well that's what makes Evel Knievel great!

The Boss is a huge ride, parts of me hated it and left me cursing at it, and then the other side of me loved it deep down on the inside, It has a good layout, but Isn't really the smoothest thing ever... With a smoother ride it would be pretty damn good!

Screamin Eagle was pretty fun, definitely a few pops of good airtime in there. really nothing too exceptional but I enjoyed my ride on it.

I found BTR to be really exceptional, like wayyyyy better then any of the other one's I've been on, excluding the one at SFGAm, because It's still the best... Twisted Twins trains were also being stored under BTR...

Oh yes, I almost forgot. They were doing some kind of "Double Ride" thing till 1 in the afternoon, basically every train got to go twice, it was pretty sweet deal especially on Evel Knievel and Mr. Freeze!

Anyway I probably went on for too long... pictures...

We decided to start our day at Evel Knievel..

We got to the park 20 minutes after they opened and Evel Knievel was still testing.......

You aren't missing much at WOF anyway :)

I love SFStL, one of my favorite parks because its well kept, has some really underrated coasters and is just a friendly place to be. Never had a bad day there before...Nice pictures.

Nice report, great pics!

I was also at SFStl on 4/3 and also had a great day! I had only been there once before, and that was in 1985 when I was 6. I just barely remember riding Screamin Eagle and the Mine Train when I was a kid.

I thought the double rides thing was great, lots of fun, especially Mr. Freeze and Evel Knievel. Speaking of Evel Knievel, that was the coaster I was most looking forward to, as it was my first GCI. After reading reviews of it and other GCIs, it did not disappoint! I loved it! Millennium Flyers are fantastic. My other favorite was Mr. Freeze, love that launch. After reading reviews about the Boss, I was prepared for something horribly rough. It ended up not being as bad as I thought it might be, but one ride was enough. Scooby Doo was also great! I hope we get a shooting dark ride at SFGAm someday. The ferris wheel was a treat as well.

Overall, I thought SFStl was a very nice park. It was clean and even had some theming.
