Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby rct2wizard360 on June 26th, 2009, 1:31 am
My day started off by not leaving the express lane in time and passing Grand Ave. -Strike 1

We parked in the back lot to save money. It was around noon, considering our main goal of the day was to get some time in HH, this wasn't a problem. Walk to up the gate. Guy scans my pass twice, whether on accident or not, he proceeds to tell me, "Have you used this before?" I replied, "This season? Yes." He was an older man, he must've misheard me and replied, "So you HAVE used this today already?!" Frustrated I replied, "No I haven't. I just got here." He raised his voice and said, "Take yourself and your story to Guest Relations." - Strike 2

He forced my girlfriend through the gate with her pass, not letting her follow me and leaving her confused as all hell at the front of the park all by herself. I waited by the window and the very nice woman there directed to what seemed to be a supervisor that came out the door. He kindly asked me if I had honestly used the pass earlier in the day and I replied no. He walked me to a turnstyle and told the attendant what to do. I thanked him and he was on his way. Wish I caught his name, glad he could help me out.

Anyways, we were off to the waterpark. Pretty packed I guess. Just a quick rundown nothing too special. General note was long lines that moved real quick. Very good employees on the slides today, as well as the river.
-Castaway Creek
-Tornado
-Vortex
-Hurricane Bay (which was disgustingly warm)

We packed up and headed off to Subway and returned to the park shortly after to hit up the water rides inside the park. All of which were up and running.
-Yankee Clipper (Longest line of them all)
-Logger's Run
-Buccaneer Battle
Now here's my review of this ride.
This is coming from a 19 year old male. This ride was pure, immature, childish, amazing, LOADS OF FUN!
I've never laughed and enjoyed a ride like this in a long time. We were completely soaked, and I have never had more fun being drenched in my change of clothes for the day. For all of you who are moaning and groaning about this ride sucking and not being some mega thrill machine, go ride this. If you still feel the same afterwards, go to Cedar Point and never come back.

We rode some coasters after this but nothing out of the ordinary.
...except this...

I guess Deja Vu IS coming back.

Wasn't that sign up already in 2008? Hopefully we will see Space Shuttle America down and out before the season ends...

With that paragraph alone, you just hit a grandslam. There is nothing like shooting the people standing there, and watching them run when they realize that you can hit them with the water as well.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.

I'm all about lying rides.

I mean, I guess the water park is a big waste of space then too right?

^^ Because the 500-foot, 240 inversion launched wooden inverted coaster that everyone has been dreaming of would have fit in that spot just perfectly  (end sarcasm)

Seriously though....eveyone that has either interacted with the ride by riding it, or shooting the passengers from the midway have come away laughing and talking about it...so I still don't see the hatred for it. And just because the line isn't long doesn't mean that it isn't popular since the ride is great on capacity.

But too many Technical difficulties made it SBNO...not a waste of space....waste of money.

I have no hatred for the ride, but dont believe it was a good addition to the main part of the park due to its seasonal nature of operation.
It should have been put in the water park portion of the park, even if something had to be removed from that park to fit it in.

Hurricane Harbor was a necessity and proved to increase attendance by 25% in 2005. Buccaneer Battle was not needed & even when HH is closed you don't see it standing but not operating as it is not directly in the park. Each time you pass BB in County fair and the temps are too cold or crowds see how nauseating it is & continue to skip it, it creates a big fat hole in CF once again. BB is only crowded on sure-fire busy days. The ride was virtually empty half of May and June. Yeah, I know because my friend who lives in Gurnee goes to the park 3-4 times a week.

You're friend needs to get a life then.

Jesus Christ.
I'm sure BB is nauseating. Oh yeah most definitely. FLOATING AWAY ON THE OPEN SEAS WATCH OUT YOU MIGHT GET SEA SICK!

You people are morons.
Don't post anything ever again.

Though it wouldnt surprise me if something was put in that area next year, for now, like last year there is clearly no construction and that sign was put there as a deterrent to people complaining about it being closed (also keeps people from entering the queue trying to get on the ride).'

I think everyone should be entitled to their own opinion. Personally BB is not a great addition for me because I hate getting soaked and would never ride it, but to many it is a great addition. On the flipside Terminator was a great addition for me because its an awesome roller coaster but we all know a new coaster is not what they needed there. If SFGAm announced a major roller coaster addition tomorrow I dont think anyone on here would be complaining (including the last thing SFGAm needs is a coaster crowd) so calm down.

By this same token, that means the other 3 water rides need torn down as well right? They don't run in the cold, hell, one of them is SBNO except on busy days. The two running ride were also empty most of May and June as well.

The other 3 move a bit faster & appeal to everyone, have a long history with the park and aren't right in the middle of an area already dead with a missing ride and a kiddie area that took over

The park would have been better off using the BB area for an attraction that would be operational year-round and also operate Yankee Clipper daily instead of running it as little as it does.

What does speed have to do with appealing to everyone? The rides appeal to people because it is a way to cool down on a hot day.

Also, history means nothing when it comes SF. These are the same people that razed Astroworld. This is a business, people tend to forget that.

The entire park was virtually empty half of May and June, not to mention the temperature was under-average for most of May and the first part of June. Not too many people prefer to get soaked in mid 60 degree temps be it on BB or any other water ride the park offers.
