SFGAm June 18

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby DejaVuGurl1203 on June 18th, 2003, 10:29 pm
Got there at about 10:30 after being slowed down by traffic 5 times. When we parked I just saw Superman get stuck on the lift hill. About a minute later it started going and got stuck again only for a few seconds.

I waited for Superman to open and it opened around 11. I waited about 20 minutes for the back row since it was almost a walk-on and they were only running one train. Thankfully it was better than the last two times I rode it. I bought a new SUF visor (my other hat got stolen) from the Heros store and wore that the rest of the day.

My mom bought me a fastlane pass and said the prices had gone up AGAIN. Now the cards are designed differently and they're $15. My mom went to guest relations later in the day to complain.

I headed over to Viper and saw that Whizzer had a very short line so I decided to go on since I hadn't been on in a while. It was about 10 minutes for the back. What a fun ride... maybe I should ride it more often.

I went over to Viper and there was no line up until the station. I waited 10 minutes for the back. This ride gets better and better every time I ride it. I regret the fact that I used to not care about it until I rode it in the back for the first time.

I headed to Raging Bull and used my fastlane pass. There were only 2 trains running. I waited about 10 minutes for the back. I looked at the parking lot by RB and I could see the purple markings. To me it looks like oversprayed paint from Raging Bull's supports. Had the usual great ride on Raging Bull.

We had to meet up my brother and his friend by 1:30 and when I got off it was 1:15. I decided to skip Giant Drop until I saw the line for it - there was almost no line at all. So I hopped on. Man that drop is so fun, something about it makes me wanna ride it again and again.

We went over by Iron Wolf (which is where we were supposed to meet up) and we went to Angelo's for lunch. It was great to be inside a cool building because ever since we got into the park I was sweating like crazy. When we were done the sky had started to get dark. When I was heading over to V2 it started to drizzle. I used my fastlane and I wanted to go in the back but they said they were going to close the ride because it started to rain harder. So I just chose the shortest line which was row 6. It seemed a little faster today.

By the time I got off it started pouring so they closed all the rides. At one point I saw that East River Crawler was running so I went on that. I loved it so much I wanted to ride it again, so I did, since it was the only ride open. The rain had stopped when I got on and then it started drizzling again. After that I went to Whirligig. I saw my friends Sarah and Becky so I rode with them. I went on it a second time, but it started to pour really badly so they closed the ride.

After a while, the rain had finally stopped at about 4:30ish, can't exactly remember. I headed over to Batman and it wasn't open but I was one of the first ones in line. After about 15 minutes of waiting and watching it testing I finally got on. It was a walk-on. I went into the back as usual, and I was the only one in the row. I was so excited I almost forgot to take off my visor and hold onto it during the ride. It seemed faster than before and of course much better. This was the best ride on Batman EVER.

I headed over to Iron Wolf and there was almost no line. I waited about 10 minutes for the back. I hurt the upper part of my back during the ride, probably because I was leaning forward. Right now it still hurts. Still had a fun ride on it though.

I went over to American Eagle and it was a walk-on for both sides. There was almost no one in the station. I rode Blue first, last row to leave the station. AE doesn't seem as great as it used to be. It seems slower and less rough. Now I like Viper better. I hopped onto the red side in the last row. I hadn't been on this in a little over a year, and it was a totally different experience. Wasn't as great as Blue, but it was still pretty cool. And the trims were on a lot stronger than before.

I went back over to V2 and used my fastlane. I was in line for row 2 but I got on row 1 cause there was an open seat. So, they had to open the airgates back up for a second. When I hopped onto the seat, the operator said "You're lucky, we're nice enough to let you on like that." I just kinda laughed at that. Had another great ride on that.

I used my fastlane for Batman. I waited about 10 minutes for the back. I just love this ride so much. It's so fast and crazy and all. Batman is just AWESOME for a first B&M invert.

I was about to head over to Superman when I saw no line for ERC so I went on that. I kept staring at Batman and at one point I started drooling. I'm a little weird... lol

I went over to Superman and they were still only running one train. The line moved slowly and at one point it started drizzling. It started to rain a little harder and then Superman closed. A lot of people left the line. When I got up to the station I heard all these people yelling "Start the ride! Start the ride!" And then on the mic. the operator said "pull down all the harnesses" and then everyone screamed and cheered. It tested a few times and it finally opened up. I headed to the back row when I ran into my friends Sarah, Becky, and Jacob and I rode row 7 with them. Still fun as ever.

I left at about 8. Overall, this was probably my best day at SFGAm. The thunderstorms actually made my day better than I thought. The park seemed pretty empty today, especially after it poured in the afternoon. I didn't take any pictures today because I didn't feel like it. I bought 2 onride pics from SUF, though.
