I was going to save this TR to the end of the week, but I might as well get it out of the way. The weather was perfect, and one could not ask for more beautiful weather. Our Fantastic Foursome left for the park at about 7:30 am from my place, with a gas fill-em-up along the way. Then, we got to the park at about 9:00 am or so, a few minutes before the gates opened. The following will be the ride list:S:UF 1xTwo of our Foursome(two girls) have not been on S:UF, so we headed to S:UF first thing in the morning. Along the way, there was about a 15-25 minute delay.
After the first train departed, the second train had yet to depart the station. For the first time this Season, I heard the dreaded "S:UF is experiencing a temporary delay." For two first timers about to take off on their first flight, it doesn't help to see a train stuck in the flying position for several minutes, or the restraints locking, then unlocking before locking again. At around 10:25, things started to roll again, and we got in Row 7. It was great seeing the reactions of the girls, when the train went into the flying position and into the pretzel loop.B:TR 1xThe ladies didn't want to go on V2, so instead the group opted for Batman. This time around, we waited the growing lines for a ride in Row 1. All of us were B:TR veterans and everyone enjoyed the ride after all these years.AE: Blue 3xWorking clockwise, we got on American Eagle: Backwards.
During one of the rides, we noticed that a crew was assembling on the Red side.AE: Red 2xWe were right. The Red side opened only a little bit later. It was great to ride AE: Red again, especially since the trains were actually racing. With about an even departure, Red kicked Blue's tail this time aroundSplashwater FallsThe lines were still short for SW Falls, so, reluctantly, I joined the group for a splashdown.Giant DropSoaked and all, the next stop on our journey was to Giant Drop. As with the morning, the lines were steady, yet long.Raging BullWorking in Southwest Territory, Raging Bull was the next stop.
I suggested riding Row 8 to the group, and everybody had a great time challenging RB.Viper x 2Viper's line was growing, but our group decided to check it out. We headed towards the front of the train, which was a shorter wait then sitting towards the middle. Coming off after a great ride, I noticed that the exit now goes through the store, instead of exiting out towards the Sharpshooter game.Demon x 4Nothing to say here, except that the group rode decided to check out the front car(which gave me less headbanging than usual this time).Orbit x 2Orbit was open, but the ladies decided to opt out on this flat ride.WhizzerAt first, it seemed as if Whizzer was loading slowly.
However, when we got to the stairs, we saw that an Op was actually holding up the line by only allowing a few people to get into the lines at a time.Sky Trek TowerNear the end of our day, we checked out STT to see S:UF's line. The line seemed to be out of the Entrance, so we decided to call it a day.Side notes:I didn't stop to check out Deja Vu today, but I did take a quick glance at the station with no train. Also, one of our sharp-eyed girls noticed a lot of rainbows and men holding other men's hands. She ended up asking one of these guys in line if there was a special event at the park. It turns out that today was Pride/Gay Day at SFGAm.
Throughout the day, you would notice some PDA and fooling around(along with some GP making sly comments), but there were no Disney-like protests. Unless if any of the GP asked somebody, one might not even realize there was an event going on. We talked with a few of these guys/ladies in line, and they were pretty friendly and interesting. On one of our sidetracks at the County Fair Games, we stopped to play some Roll 'Em Away(my best game at the park). After depositing only a few quarters, I won a few prizes for the girls. Alongside us were a gay couple who seemed frustrated that they couldn't win anything. Out of the blue, they asked if I could try winning something for them.
I was 3/3 for the day, and picked out a Fred Flintstone for them. I handed it over, and in Flintstone style, said to them 'Have a Gay old time.' They chuckled, and actually joined us for a round on American Eagle. All in all, not a bad day at the park. I would guess that school groups made up about 1/4 of the crowd, gay/lesbians about another 1/4 of the crowd, and GP making up another half of the crowd. After plenty of coaster riding, we decided to head back to my place and check out a DVD, but got sidetracked by an IQ Test on TV(surprised that I scored high). More to come after our Friday the 13th trip.

Our 8th grade class went last year on gay pride day . It wasn't a pretty sight at some times during the day . This years 8th grade class also went today. I am begining to wonder about our principla . Why were the girls afraid of V2?
I don't know if they were actually afraid, but the hold on the back spike didn't help my campaign to go on V2. Instead of splitting up, we just headed for something familiar, Batman. I saw a few Class of 2003 shirts from Emerson(only one that sticks out right now). No, it definitely wasn't the prettiest of sights during the day today. Some are actually too graphic to be talked about at this point.
It was a nice day at the park, especially with the great weather. I would say there were more gay men than lesbian women at today's event. I didn't notice any public notification of today's events, but it seemed like just another day at SFGAm.
ok, so this is my first post. I'm an employee at the park, well, not for the park, but for the people that sell the cotton candy and the drinks and stuff. It was Gay Day at Six Flags today, it was rather disturbing, but fun as well, a nice distraction. It wasn't nearly as, HMMM, Loud as last year, but it was still fun to watch.
Welcome to the forums, trumpetboy. I agree that at times throughout the day, there were some disturbing moments. I probably would have still gone to SFGAm if I knew the event was that day ahead of time due to the nice weather, but ended up having a nice time either way. And, for SFGA 11, I used to think Viper always went through Col. J Peabody's as well. Earlier this Season and as of last Wednesday, the Exit went through the gate before heading to the store. Oh well.
I think the reason the Viper doesn't exit through the store any more is because of staffing problems. But I'm not sure. A lot of stores are closed besides that one.
When the store isn't open it doesn't exit through the store and instead through the gate before it. When its open you exit through it. On Sunday on my way out from Viper somebody closed the gate before the store so you couldn't get out over there...so as me and my brother were exiting we noticed a bunch of people who were knocking on the store door and we noticed this and just jumped over the gate to get out the exit before the store. Everyone noticed us do this and walked over to the other gate to get out.
I guess as the peak Season is coming around, SFGAm is staffing up. I didn't expect American Eagle: Red to run yesterday, but it did. Also, the S:UF crew by the ride entrance was great yesterday. They made sure line-jumpers could not get into the line, even though their friends were near the front of the line.
