08/18/05 - MiA

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Danhockey04 on August 19th, 2005, 10:27 am
Crowds: Light/Moderate (emptied once the waterpark opened)
Temperature: about 70 and on/off showers
Rides Closed: None (Mad Mouse opened late)

Me, Ally, and Jeff, left really early in the morning to drive to there. We get there at 10:15, right when they open the parking lot. We get in the park and wait, like at SFGAm, to go to Shivering Timbers.

We rode Shivering Timbers in the front row, which gave a lot of good floating air time, but back row is amazing, a little rough, but the air and forces really beat the roughness.

Then we went to Wolverine Wildact, rode that in the middle, which really is Mean Streak 2, rough, really rough.

THen we hit Corkscrew, a decent coaster, but Big Dipper and Zach's Zoomer were both good. Mad Mouse opened really late, but we still managed to get 2 rdies on that, which is just as good as Cajun, if not better.

We went to the waterpark. Funnel of Fear (tornado) was amazing, I cant wait till SFGAm gets it next year. Their family slides were both amazing, the Min Shaft was much better. The tube slides there are better than SFGAm's but SFGAm's body slides are better than MiA's.

THen we rode Shivering Timbers more and gave Wolverine Wildcat one more chance in front row, which saved that ride from known as Mean Streak 2, it was actually really good front row.

Shivering Timbers: 7
Wolverine Wildcat: 2
Zach's Zoomer: 2
Mad Mouse: 2
Corkscrew: 2
Big Dipper: 2
Funnel of Fear: 2
Mine Shaft: 2
Mammoth River: 1
Slidewinders: 1
Cyclone Zone: 1
Snake Pit: 1
Giant Gondolla Wheel: 1
Tilt-A-Whirl: 1
Sea Dragon: 1
Scrambler: 1
Flying Trapeze: 1
Trabant: 1
Timbertown Railroad: 1
Swan Boats: 1

TOTAL: 33 Rides

I am glad I didnt go the day before, cause of the power outages that MiA suffered. I was wondering why I heard people say that they got free tickets to come back, and that they used them that day. Well, great trip overall.

Also, riding on Shivering Timbers, look to the left on the second hill, you can see blue tarps and lots of wood, just past the wood is coaster track for a wooden coaster. There is a lot of track and quite a bit of wood sitting back there, so they are either retracking a coaster or might actually get a new one.
