Just wanted to send out a huge thanks to the different charcters and crew that made Fright Fest possible this year. I have met some great people during this Fright Fest and I will defnitley be looking forward to seeing you all next year! Like I said before Fright Fest started this year.. every year brings more memories and this year I have ALLOT of good memories. So to Big Mike, necrocheer, twinzombie, nightshade, necropolis GD, Ruk, and all other cast and crew THANK YOU! Big Mike hope you have a great time on your cruise! See you all next year. Who knows I may even join you
Thanks to you, PunkBunny. We're glad you enjoyed the show. It was a pretty smooth run for the most part (there were a lot of security incidents, including two characters [one werewolf and a Necropolis character who also happened to be Tafaba's son] getting hit with PEPPER SPRAY on Saturday), but when all's said and done, we had as great a time as we do every year. As long as folks want to be entertained, we'll keep coming back to help them enjoy themselves.

I'm not clear on all of the details, and I probably won't be now that the run is over...But the person responsible for at least one of the sprayings (and likely both) was apprehended. Tafaba informed me that he and his son are DEFINITELY pressing charges. As well they should. And he was not in the Mausoleum, he was a street character.
He's a good guy and didn't deserve it. Like all of us who get assaulted, he was just doing his job. But, hey...He had a sense of humor about it. Once he got treatment for the spraying, I saw him at the bar after the show. He told me he felt fine, then picked up a pepper shaker off the table, and mimed shaking it at his face. So, he came out of it fine. But it still sucks that it happened.
The werewolf who got hit is also fine. He was on his stilts at the time, and did go down...and HARD...But he also got treated at the park and was okay once he got helped out and cleaned up. That pepper spray is some insidious crap...Anyone from our company who came into contact with either of the characters who were sprayed (or their clothing) suffered temporary burning skin rashes.
Still, once it went out over communication that there was a pepper-sprayer in the park, every character got pulled to level two immediately in order to avoid a third having to suffer what the others did. We were only allowed back on the street after the sprayer was apprehended.
Sadly, I wish I could say this was an isolated incident. Characters have been pepered or maced before. The third weekend, I almost got sprayed. I was up in the tree I like to climb in the small wooded strip between the Troll Bridge and the Orbit....and this one jerk broke away from his buddies, sat directly beneath me on one of the benches, and pulled a keychain canister out of his pocket. He started laughing, and jerking his head up toward me. His buddies were laughing and pointing, and encouraging him...Egging him on to spray me. My only crime was sitting in a tree.
Thankfully, from that high up, I could see what was going on, and I waved over our security lead, who IMMEDIATELY intercepted the man. But I have no doubt I would have gotten sprayed if I hadn't seen it coming in advance. He was in the "working up the nerve" phase when he got spotted. So, I got lucky. But ther were two characters who weren't, and they're both EXTREMELY nice people and dedicated performers who in no way deserved to be assaulted simply for doing their jobs.
it was amazing what happened, i was in the area (i'm that dead nanny character that doesn't really do that much) and it was crazy... just to walk through the bush area afterwords burned... we were lucky that the park reacted so quickly... almost instantly we were surrounded by extra security guards and a some rent-a-cops (who were really nice, and i thank them for keeping me safe... they intervened a few times when i was getting messed with)... i have no idea how someone would think to come to the park with pepper spray and target the character, it wasn't like they were scared and reacted out of defence, it was definitely some idiot who was looking for a quick adrenalin rush...
anyways, it was crazy, charges are being pressed, but it was terrifying for me to be out on the streets that night just because of all the harassing going on... (eventually i WAS pulled thankfully)
That really does suck that there are such idiots out there. I mean I have come to the conclusion this year that there are some complete morons out! Not just dumb or ignorant just really stupid people. Out of the three Saturdays that I went all of them were level 2's. That is very sad. I mean pepperspray! That just takes on a whole new level of idiocy! It wasn't just a bad day it's just how people are now all of the time. Pretty scary...
I'd also like to send out a thanks to all the Fright Fest Employee's for putitng together one of the best Fright Fest's I've ever been to. You guys deserve alot for putitng up with these crazy idiots. I'd also like to thank the rest of the Six Flags Great America Staff for giving us a great season this year, truley one to remeber. It seems like just yesterday I was waking up to Ragin Cajun on CBS 2..........
alas, I am the bush in Necro who got sprayed. I can tell you, it was the worst feeling I've ever had to endure on my face...I also had someone pull my hood off, was hit in the eye, and got sick from the cafeteria food.....
that sure was a fun day <---sarcasm
Thanks for your guys' appreciation. I had alot of fun this month and hope you all had an even better time. I'll prolly be there in May for the new season <--- another annoying season pass holder so, I'll see youse there.
the bush
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.

AHHH!!!, My son the Bush! The bravest 16 year old I know.
They did catch the guy, we did press charges. We were lucky that at the time he got sprayed our Lead was right there watching it. So they followed him down the hill and ID'd him and arrested him. At that point there was almost a gang fight with the police.
Thanks Beef for the great writeup on what happened. I think if I was the one to be sprayed I would have called it quits but my son AND the warewolf were back out for the final day.
Also, a special thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed the park, Fright Fest and the characters. I know we all put a lot of work into making everyone happy.

Yeah guys Fright Fest was awesome this year. Unfortunately I was only able to make it to FF once this season. But when I did go I'm not sure which bush guy it was but he jumped out and fell flat on his face. I felt bad for him. It was like he went in mid-air and then took a face first dive into the ground. It sucked. I would like to also compliment everyone on the FF crew, and everyone at Six Flags for putting on one hell of a fright fest. It takes a lot to walk those streets not knowing what is gonna happen when you scare the next person. So I really have to give props to all the scaracters.
