My SFA Trip (8/3) & My First KC Ride.

Let us know how your day at the park was.

Weather-Warm, partly cloudy

If anyone was wondering where I have been, I was on a vacation to Washington DC. I went to Six Flags America for one day.

I got there about 10 minutes before opening and parked very close to the front. The very front spot was open, but I took one under a shade tree.

When the park opened, I ran to Two-Face (Vekoma Invertigo) because I thought that it would be a slow moving line. I was the first one there. Front row, first dispatch. I had to wait there a minute before anyone else showed up. I was a pretty good ride, but not as good as DV.

Then I went to Wild One (wooden). It was a walk-on, but I decided to wait one ride to go in the front row. It also was fun, but not as good as AE or Viper.

Then I did the Tower of Doom (Intamin/Ride Trade Giant Drop). It was the same as our GD, but much shorter.

Then I decided to head for the Gotham City area. Joker's Jinx (Premier launched) was once again a walk on, but I decided to wait one for front row: bad idea. They had two trains, but they kept sending one through one empty. Even though the sign said "hold on at all times", the ride operators were telling us that we had to put our hands in the air. Many people didn't want to, and it took like 10 minutes for the ops to get every ride to put their hands up. It was a good ride though.

Then I tried "Penguin's Blizzard River". I'm not sure who makes it. There was about a five-minute wait. You go in an inflatable circular raft through a bobsled style track that has water in it. You spin the whole time and get a little wet. It was a good ride.

Then I went to Superman: Ride of Steel (Intamin Hyper, NOT the same as SFNE.) I waited two rides for the back row. I wasn't holding my self and got thrown foreword and hit my eye on the grab bar. I was okay.

Then I went to Batwing (Vekoma Flying Dutchman). Five minute wait for middle of train. The restraints are really heavy. The ride is much better than S:UF in my opinion. You get more of a "flying" feeling.

Then I went to Roar (wooden). Two ride wait for the front row. It was okay, but not as good as Wild One.

Then I waited about ten minutes for "Typhoon Sea Coaster". You ride in a boat a little bigger that IMS or Loggers. They put you on a turntable and you go backwards for part of the ride. I got pretty wet.

Then I went to the Tilt-A-Whirl only because we don't have one at our park. It was the same as one at a carnival.

Then I tried the bumper cars. All of them were fast. Unfortunately, it was the kind where you have to go in a big circle. I hit that darn median five times. Some people started going the wrong way and then it became fun because you could hit them head on.

Then I did Mind Eraser (you guessed it: Vekoma). It is kind of like B:TR, but a little rougher. After that I went on the Ferris Wheel and saw the Chinese Acrobat show.

I did the Roaring Rapids style ride (I forgot the name). I got soaked.

Later in the day I did S:ROS (two ride wait, I held on) Joker's Jinx (walk on, new ride ops, both trains going full), Tower of Doom, Wild One (Back of train, no wait), Roar (in the back, much rougher) and Two Face (I went backwards) again. I would have also have Batwing again but it was broken.

I had time left so I rode the Cyclone (Eli Bridge Scrambler), Falling Star (like Trailblazer), Flying Carousel (swings), Octopus (East River Crawler like) and the Great Race (old time cars).

I flew in last night from Regan Airport. Being the SFGAm person I am, after I got home at 9:00, I put my luggage inside and headed out to get in a ride or two. I FINALLY got on King Chaos. It was pretty good. We flipped 4 times. I like how they hold you over the water. That will be great when the water jets get going.

Why did you have to put your hands up on Joker's Jinx?

Okay, I thought it was Vekoma, but wasn't sure. I fixed it now.

We had to but our hands up just because of the operator. Sometimes on V2 they will say "launching in 5,4,3" then launch the train to through people off. This ride op was doing the same thing, sometimes with the countdown, and sometimes with the hands up deal. Some little kids were really scared to put their hands up. They were reluctant to put them up. This made the load time very long.

What was your favorite ride there and how was Joker's Jinx line? Was it themed at all?

My favorite ride was probably the Wild One. It was a fun, old-fashioned wooden coaster. I like these because they are always different.

Joker's Jinx was somewhat themed. The station said "FUN HOUSE", but all that was inside were a few funny mirrors inside, most of which were too dirty to see anything. There was also a huge Joker head sticking out the front of the station.

So what if nobody wanted to put there hands up in the air I mean they dont have to if they dont want to.
No matter how hard it is...Never EVER give up. The real failure is those who dont try.
