Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby DejaVu The Ride on June 10th, 2004, 11:54 am
My friends and I arrived at the park around 9:50, and noticed the list of rides closed today which included DejaVu, the Orbit, Triple Play, and I think either Hometown Fun Machine or IMS. We went through the Season Pass entrance and went to Superman which already had about a 20 minute line, We went to Batman : The Ride.

Batman was running great with a 10 minute wait. Nothing else to say, just the old Batman. We went to check on Ragin' Cajun but it wasnt open yet and lines were still short. We headed over to V2 for a 3 train wait. Still as fun as ever. I always love the holding brake. From the station we noticed DejaVu had workers on the towers working on the cables so I knew it would be awhile if it opened if at all.

Next we hit Iron Wolf which had a 10 minute wait for Front Row. This is intense as ever and I am beginning to love the first drop more and more. We got off and figured we should go and check on Ragin' Cajun. It wasn't testing yet, but I wanted to just wait it out and see what happens, while they went to get their passes processed. So I watched maintenance work. They were working on one of the trains on the transfer an then put it onto the actual track. They also did a lot of other odds and ends.

Then the 'alarm' started going off a lot. Then they started moving the cars in the station area and then testing. They did a lot of testing. They also, tested the block brakes all over. My friends came back and we waited. Brad Papas and his friend were in front of us. a small line formed nehind us. Then they started playing the spiel that this line is closed and they do not know when it will open. Then more testing continued and then an op got to ride. Then the ride opened. We got second dispatch after waiting around an hour.

This ride is fantastic! I heard people on the midway saying that it was a kiddy ride and that it wasn't woth waiting for. But they are missing out. It is just pure fun and was a great addition. It ran 5 trains great. I don't see how they woyuld run 9 trains on this. They probably could, but I don't see why they would need to. Once one train cleard the lift, the other was dispatched. I noticed King Chaos was testing its restraints. People were working on it a lot today.

Our next ride was Stargate which had about a 10 minute wait and was onlu running half of the seats. The ride op was pretty funny. Fun ride.

Next, we went over to ride the Demon with a 10 minute wait. It was fun, but when we got off, someone threw up on the platform.

We were hungry so we went to the car and ate lunch. People were feeding the pigeons so it was kind of funny.

When we got back in, we headed to Viper and waited a half- hour. The station was full so that was why it was so long. Airtime was only noticeable on a few hills but the ride was anything but lacking airtime.

Next was Raging Bull which had the first queue house full and running 3 trains. The lines moved really fast and was about 20-30 minutes for back row. A lot of airtime and was runiing really great. Looked over at DejaVu and noticed that there was still no activity.

My friend and I decided we would ride Giant Drop while the other waited. The lines was 15 minutes and gave a great rush.

American Eagle Blue was next with a 5 minute wait. A little rough but running pretty fast. Red side broke down right when we got on the train.

We went to ride Revolution which had a 2 cycle wait. It was spinny and was a great break from the coasters. We noticed American Eagle Red opened, so went went and rode it. 10 minute wait and was a lot of fun.
We raced but not surprisingly, we lost.

Now we wanted to go on a water ride, so Loggers Run was calling. We waited 15 minutes and got soaked. It was a cool off. We noticed DehjaVu testing so we ran to wait in line. It opened up and we went to the front row line and went to 1B. We waited 3 dispatches with a total wait of 15-20 minutes. The lines was at least 45 minutes to an hour after we got off. It was supposed to be closed too.

It started drizzling a little so we went to eat cheese fries at Farmers Market.

Next, we went to ride the Whizzer, which had a 10 minute line thanks to the grouper. We rode in the seats near the back of the train. This ride is truly a fun ride with a nice little breeze. I noticed Hometown Fun Machine was running as was the Orbit. Triple Play had its arms now but not the actual cars. It should be soon.

Sky Trek tower was next for a break from the still hot weather. Air conditioning. We waited 10 minutes. When we got off, it was really cool and breezy. Wow what a change. Now it was about 7:15. We wanted to ride Ragin' Cajun again and we waited about 15 minutes and was almost there when it broke down for 15 minutes then they clsoed it because it was starting to rain. We then went over to Superman.

We waited 25 minutes and had an awesome ride. It was a lot better than waiting 1 1/2 hours earlier in the day. One of my friends and I went to go and see if Ragin' Cajun opened back up because the rain had stopped. No, it was down mechanically. We still waited. Then they made the op change the sign to weather and I wondered why. Then it started to just pour. We ran out to a game. We were suppose to meet the others at Heroes. So we then ran to the bridge soaked. Then we dashed toward the gift shop and waited 5 minutes until it cleared a little. All of the rides looked closed so we decided to leave at 8:20. Overall, it was a great day. It wasn't too busy but busy. We had a lot of fun. Thanks for reading!

DejaVu did end up opening after 4 I think. When we got there I heard that it was open, but they made everyone get out of the line. Also, i think the Mardi Gras stage is looking great and the band should be there soon. they are also adding a fodd/drink stand near the SWT Amp. It should be open any day.

You shouldn't pay attention to the signs because they are never reallt that accurate. Tons of times I've seen D Vu' closed on the sign, and it was open later in the day.

Well if you read the sign it said, "May not be operating” So there is still a chance that it will be operating.
