July 10th.....fun day

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Jackluver18 on July 11th, 2010, 12:03 am
Got to the park at 9:30, waited for a friend of mine to show because he overslept so while I waited I went on Dipper and then into the Wizard Shop by Dipper and purchased my pink dragon I have been eying for a month now. After buying it, we met up and went on Whizzer which wasn't a long wait. Skipped Viper for now and went to Bull, great ride as always. I must say Bull's crew was quite amazing today, I applaude them *claps*. After Bull was Drop.....still trying to get over my fear of it. Then it was time for Demon yellow train and my is that train bright holy cow. Next was Eagle, Blue was down for awhile then opened sometime after we left.

We then went to go eat lunch it was now around 1 that we ate. My friend didn't want to go on water rides because he didn't have a change of clothes so I went on Rapids, Clipper which is open again and Loggers while he went on Chaos. After the water rides, we went on Whirligig and East River Crawler while waiting to go on V2 which had a 45 minute wait. We then went on V2 and wanted to go on BTR but there was an icident of some sort so we had to wait so we went on Whirligig again while waiting. We then went on Columbia and was gonna go on STT but as soon as we got on there was "a problem" so we got off and went to dinner at Subway and while coming back some really nasty clouds started coming in, thought it was gonna rain but didn't. We then did 2 more rides on Eagle and raced both times, Red won the first time we raced and then the 2nd time Blue cheated so...yeah they won.

We then headed back towards Dipper and got a time which was a half hour wait so while waiting we went on Spaceley's 3 times and then went on Dipper. After Dipper was SUF 4th row and then TDK which wasn't a long wait at all. And while on TDK, I noticed that the Batmobile that was now outside, is now inside. Look down while going through the track, it's hard to see but it's there. We were gonna go on Drop again because it was getting dark out and I haven't gotten on it at night so as we waited it started to lightining really bad and they closed it just as we were about to get on so instead we did 4 more rides on Bull and to end the night 2 rerides on Viper. It wasn't as crowded as I heard yesterday was. I will be going back July 15th for CAD before going on a 2 week vacation. Can't wait. Oh I also forgot to mention that was some dispute between some teenagers over by Batman and they got escorted "backstage" by security, couldn't quite figure out what had happened. Why would they go backstage with security?

On a typical CAD night, how many pass holders are there?

^Way too many. People think it's a great perk, and it would be a much better perk if they didn't shut down everything else. What happens all the times I went is that what they do is they only have the roller coasters open with maybe Giant Drop, and Revolution, and because of this it gets more crowded than sometimes during the day. The one day I went, it felt empty during the day, but at night the lines for the roller coasters were quite crowded. Think of all the rides and shows open during the day, and they shut them down for the CAD event. That is a ton of people.

I might sound negative but this is why it's so crowded for CAD - There is No these attractions open: Pictorium show, Condor, River Rocker, Chubasco, entire waterpark, Roaring Rapids, Yankee Clipper, Logger's Run, Columbia Carousel, Rue Le Dodge, Hometown Fun Machine, Show Stoppin, Bucaneer Battle, Antique Cars, Train, Triple Play, The Orbit, Ricochet, I'm guessing all the kiddie areas, Fiddler's Fling, Big Easy Balloons, Whirligig, Jester's Wild Ride, Sky Trek Tower, and there aren't as many shops open from what I remember. And on top of that, these are people with season passes. They have ridden these rides before, and do you think a lot of them are going to ride Demon, and Iron Wolf? Who knows, they might not even want to ride Dark Knight? I think of CAD as being at the park for an extra what 2 hours like it's 3 pm - 5 pm at the park instead of a 9 pm - 10 pm type of feeling. I'm saying this based on the crowds.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"

Well...that's why it's called Coasters After Dark. Yes there is usually potential for a few Thrill Rides (which usually depends on staffing...but the main draw/purpose is the coasters.

When I went to CAD last year, it was filled with teenagers (like my self), tweens, and too-cool for you college kids.

The person waiting in line in front of me for Raging Bull kept saying (and seriously, he said it like 25 times), "Since when was this place over-run by annoying teenagers that just get in your way when you walk?" He also would stare at me when I would say something to my friends and then roll his eyes like he is far to much above me to even be around me. [Seriously though, if he's a pass holder, how on earth does he not know the clientèle?!]

Anyways, I ramble. I spent the majority of the time on Whizzer.
