You think Hades has airtime????? For me this coaster only has pain and more pain. Next time ride the back row of Cyclops. Everyone always overlooks this little coaster. There is a reason why there is a sign that says you must be 18 to ride the back row. Because Cyclops has insane airtime, not the POS Hades.
I'll be at Mt.O this weekend. I'll really try to focus more on airtime on Hades, but I'm sure I'll only be on it once or twice.....I've only ridden Cyclops from the back, and that was 2 years ago, so I don't know how it feels from the other rows. It wasn't open when I was there earlier this year. If it's busy, I'll only ride in the back row..........I'm real interested in getting reactions from my group on Hades, because the other 5 people who are tall enough have never been on it!
Woah. Woah. Woah. Whoa. Did you just say there is NO airtime on Hades? Have you ever rode that beast backseat! HOLY CRAP! This past off-season Mt. O must of done some MAJOR track and train work on Hades, because it seems glass smoth compared to previous years. Back and Front seat takes a HUGE dump on El Toro for air time, and overall ride experience.
Now lets focus on Air Time. Specifically backseat. -Right out of the station you get thrown into your lapbar, on that little drop. -You incline towards the right and hit a little hop, then back down into those twists and turns. - There is a little bunny hop right before the 180 turn to the lift hill. -You get some nice falling off the track feeling air time on the drop. Then go into the tunnel. -When you come out you incline to the left and hit a trim. The angled drop to the right with a hop which has some of the craziest air time on any coaster, then right back down into the tunnel. -After going through the tunnel again, yo go directly up a hill which gives you good AT. -You go through a jungle of supports before hitting another hill where you incline down to the right. -There are 2 more air time hills before the ride hits high inclined turn, which brings you into the blocks, and down into the station.
If you dont believe me, drive up to Mt. Olympus and see for yourself.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2. Coaster Count: 167 (41 Wood, 125 Steel) @Coaster_Cole on Twitter
Yes, I have ridden Hades from both the front and the back. I'm heading there this weekend, so I will keep all this in mind. When I was there 2 years ago Cyclops blew it out of the water for airtime and is far less painful to ride. If you are not 18, you can't ride it in the back and perhaps this why you 2 haven't felt what I have felt on cyclops. I'll let you know next week......I haven't ridden El Toro. It's on the schedule for Oct, but your telling me Hades has more air??? That's all I hear about ET.
What row did you sit in? My personal favorite row on Hades is 5-1. (First row of the fifth car) I find plenty of air time in that seat, and it's not overly rough.
^Every single ride dry attraction in the park feels that way except Zeus. At least they did some re-tracking work on it and you can feel the difference.
Confirmed: You youngsters are missing out on not riding Cyclops. It absolutely has the finest spots of ejector air of any of the 105 coasters I have ridden. I have never been so close to being thrown out of a coaster as I was on that one this weekend. I rode Voyage a few weeks ago and didn't have that feeling. It helps when a park doesn't care about safety to achieve this sensation. The last car (over 18) is insane but there was still pleny of air in the front of the second last car. I would suggest giving it a try the next time you are there.

I rode it in 08 and it didn't feel any different then.

With a few enthusiast friends, I've started the Mt. Olympus death pool. Someone will die on one of their coasters, it just a matter of which one and when. I got Cyclops in July 2011 as my first pick with Zeus in July 2012 and my second pick.
I've ridden Cyclops many times, just not in the back seat. And I would have to agree that the coasters at Mt Olympus are definately not safe. It's just a matter of time before something happens.
