Alright so me and my friend planned a while ago to one day take a trip to six flags and ride one ride all day as much as possible. That day rolled around finally and we chose Memorial Day as the day to do it. We decided to ride Raging Bull as much as possible from opening to close. We decided to get a flash pass to ease the process... A platinum Flash Pass to be precise.
So we got to the park at around 9:15 and were let into the park at 9:30. We got to the gates by the Fun Machine and waited another 30 minutes. We chatted with some employees and told them our plans, discussed coaster stuff, blah blah blah. We also saw some mascots like Mr. Six and wonder woman walk by, which was nice to see as I am sure there was many kids in the park that day. As soon as the National Anthem ended we ran into the Flash Pass building and got our platinum flash pass. We then left and used the washroom before heading towards our challenger: Raging Bull.
After hitting the washroom and walking through the Flash Pass line we got to the station. The ride did not even test run yet and they were telling us because it was about the thunderstorm they could not run the ride temporarily. After about 30 minutes it did start storming... and mostly everyone left the line. We stayed though so we could start riding immediately when the storm stopped. About 30 minutes later the storm stopped, and the ride was tested 5 times which then opened to the public.
Alright so I am going to cut this next part down by how many number of rides we got on...
RIDES 1~10 - Pretty smooth sailing really. After around 10 rides in a row we did not feel as good as we did when we entered the park. We drank our water bottles and ate some granola bars which made us feel better.
RIDES 11~20 - Started REALLY not feeling good, plus we needed to really use the washroom. after 20 rides we took some time to take a 30 minute break to get a Johnny Rockets burger (freaking delicious) and use the washroom.
-30 MINUTE BREAK-
RIDES 20~30 - We came back feeling much better hitting the ride after getting some food in out stomachs. However it seems we were not welcomed back by some workers working the ride this time. The crew changed up a bit, the Flash pass person was the same (his name was Mitchel, he was a really cool guy) but the people in the station were changed. We always told a ride op we were re-riding and were almost always accused during this time for re-riding more then once. We would always have to find the employee we told pull them to the other side and explain to the other ride ops this was going to be our second ride. We were mostly accused mostly by the same lady over and over again and she called park security. We told Mitchel the situation and he informed the security we were going through the line every time and we were not cheating the system. Security did nothing to us in the end.
RIDES 30~40 - I started feeling really crappy again. The worst ride was ride 35 I believe where me and my friend pulled our shirts over our heads so we could not see where we were going. After that ride I felt very very bad. After walking around a bit and drinking some water I felt better. During this time the same lady in the station started freaking out because we were re-riding. She accused us of not having a Q-bot and riding more then twice. We showed her the Q-bot and pulled the ride op over that we told we were riding again, and and that point she said 'whatever. and let us go. Park security was called again, but we were unsure if it was for us... If I were to take I guess I am pretty sure it was. Mitchel was now gone too, but the new guy was aware of our situation and supported us and was also talking to security about how we always came back in a reasonable short time and always checked in with our bot. After ride 40 I really had to pee pretty bad. so we took a quick 10 minute break.
-10 MINUTE BATHROOM BREAK-
RIDES 41~50 - Came back feeling a lot better after getting more water and relieving myself, I think my friend did too. After 40 rides on the same ride over and over again I finally grew immunity, and did not feel sick at all on these last 10 rides. The crew finally got over us thinking we were cheating them (we weren't) and it was smooth sailing from there. Not much to report back on except on ride 50 we told them to announce we got 50 rides in on one day and they didn't (sad face). We went front row for the last two rides and it felt great to get some fresh air after hogging the back all day.
TOTAL RAGING BULL RIDES (Consecutively):50
We then deiced for the last 40 minutes to ride a few other rides. We hit Giant drop riding it twice and then ran over to Superman for 2 more rides where we met Mitch again. We told him we still had problems after he left and we got 50 rides in and we were pretty excited. He then let us through to catch the third train while we waited in the station. We rode that twice and then it was 9:00 and park closing so we went to return the flash pass. I hit the washroom, and my friend met Mitch and the flash pass building again. He told the whole crew the troubles we were having all day and the Flash Pass crew told us to go to park management and file a complaint... which we ended up doing.
GIANT DROP-2
SUPERMAN UF-2
TOTAL RIDES-54
Alright so this is basically my complaints about the Platinum Flash pass experience. None of the crews were prepared to have us use these passes. We were told by the flash pass place to always show a ride operator your wristband... which we always did, and state "were re-riding", and always did. However most of the time that ride operator would not tell the rest of the crew, resulting on confusion, especially for how many times we were riding. We also felt maybe the ride-ops did not like us because we were being funny (like clapping in rhythm and saying stupid stuff to other people while we waited... it was nothing bad), but if they told us to stop we would have been more then happy too. We were just passing time while we waited for the ride to dispatch. Also the crew did not seem very happy which ruined the six flags experience a lot. Overall the pass was really cool though and I felt I got my moneys worth. However after all the struggles, confusion and frustration that this thing has caused I am not sure if its going to stick around until next year. Six Flags REALLY needs to train their employees better. For instance not only did we find ourselves having a job to tell the ride operators... but also the people in line. We almost always had to tell the strangers in line the stay back unless they had two riders. That is a job for the crew... not the guests.
So overall a nice day to go... We beat the crowds with the flash pass and still managed to have a good time... and maybe set a record. If you plan on getting Platinum ever just be aware of what you are in for.
