I'm waiting for the Polyp to open again. That's my favorite ride at that park. I hope they aren't just saving the money (for the part), and aren't going to open it up at all because that would be horrible. It's not in the commercial, and that kind of worries me about not riding it again. How many places have a ride like this? All the good ones are in Europe even though Spiders are awesome, but yet a different ride.

I believe Kiddielands Polyp is the only one of that model in the US.

I was there last week and they were working on it, looked like they have a major project going on the hydraulic side of things.

From what i hear, it's as good as sold, will go to Europe and be parted out for the several that are running out there.

^Darn it. Why can't Six Flags buy it even if it wouldn't be Six Flags Great America? That's good to know that they are at least working on it. I just hope by working on it, they aren't taking it apart. I would say like for the past 4 years, every other year it had trouble. It's a great type of ride, but yet it's not always working. It's got to be really, really old.

Here's a newer version of the same type of ride. I don't know who it's made by. I thought Soriani and Moser made them, but now I can't find their website.

Edit: SDC Rides makes them, but I know if that's the same manufacturer as the one in the video.

SDC went out of business about 15 years ago.

Also Polyp as you can see from it's run at Kiddleland where they take immaculate care of their rides is a maintenance headache, now at a park like Six Flags where for the most part rides are neglected til something brakes, just imagine it then, it would never run.

a few italian companies make them, but i haven't found any to be as good as the Bakker/Appeldoorn polyp. Though I do like the Schwarzkopf Monster III alot also, though keep in mind they run a lot better in Europe unlike East River Crawler.

And when I was in Europe only polyp I came across was Blue Power which was alot of fun

Came across a bunch of Monster III's

One I liked was mis named Polyp

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pejmQgRTwA

as you can see from that the ride op had some tricks, not just the straight up missionary style program that SFGAm runs on ERC which is the exact same ride model. :)

And now I'm on youtube and I gotta share this and dont want to make a new topic, but I rode this also, DecaDance is the most amazing looking Breakdance I have ever seen.

it's just crazyness. And before anyone brings it up. Yes, those are real flame throwers in the second video, it gets pretty hot on the ride when they go off. and Yes there are people standing in their seats during the ride, and that is the queue with no fencing with people just inches from a high speed spinning platform, and that is a ride op dancing on the moving ride. All that has to be said about that is when people as a whole use common sense and can be trusted, rules are far more lenient. And no, people very rarely get hurt on fairgrounds in Europe.

^I've been a Fabbri Crazy Dance. That one is called Twister, and it's owned by Wade Shows. Well, the major part of the ride in my opinion wasn't that great, but the ending part where they barely moved the floor, and just liked moved the seats was so fun. I wish that was the whole ride. The KMG Afterburner looks good in the video. :D

I like the seats that are stationary rather than East River Crawler, but yet on the Eyerly Spider, or Octopus, those are great with them moving. That Eyerly Monster though is boring in my opinion.
