Short trip report 6/13/09

Let us know how your day at the park was.

Since it was kind of crappy outside Saturday morning, I decided to go to the park hoping I could catch some short lines because of it. I starting out with my traditional ride on STT just to see how the lines were in areas of the park that wasn't hidden by trees, buildings and etc. So, I noticed that whizzer wasnt a long wait so i decided to hit that after STT. As I was walking toward whizzers entrance, i saw that Show Stoppin 09's opening day was today and the first show was at 3:30, so keeping that i mind, i rode whizzer, hit up a couple of flats and headed over to the GMH for the first show.

As the show began, they have the 4 lead singers come out and do a short intro song like that did in the previous shows and at this point, i saw some familiar faces from the previous shows. It looks like everyone returned except for one person (think she did "walk away" another year). The dancers look all new, didnt see any familiar faces except for one that I think was a dancer in Dead Mans Party last year (not positive though)The show was different as they advertised it would be from the other years it ran as it had a new song line up. The show was ok to me this year, it just didn't seem like it had the "vibe" with me that it had last two years, dont get me wrong, the leads were very talented and some might think its great as it depends on your musical tastes. I think maybe as the show progresses through the season it might grow on me more as its only the beginning and they need time to get settled into their new songs. Also it felt shorter than last year as they were blending solos together more instead of singers doing solos on their own. Anyways, after the show I hit up Rue Le Dodge and headed out to go to the mall because i needed to pick up some things before heading home. Overall it was ok for a Saturday in my opinion.

not really, really because i live ten minutes from the park and if it got bad enough were I couldnt do anything I would have just left and went some were else. Since bad weather sometimes scares the crowds away, I thought i could get in a couple rides and a show and head out. Every once in a while I'll do this just to pass time...
