My 14 year old daughter who just flew down here to Florida, loved Buccaneer Battle, and also loves the thrill rides and coasters. This tells me that this new attraction is a hit. She is not narrow minded like some of you here who are still bitter that DV is gone. She liked this coaster also but knows it was removed for certain reasons.
If a 14 year old can appreciate what is going on, I would hope you older crowd posters can just accept it. She said it's a great attraction with good theming and pirate music.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
Even if Buccaneer Battle was constructed in a vacant location, I still wouldn't be excited to ride it. Maybe it would be fun on a 90º day in July, but for the meantime it looks like a boring ride in which you sit down on a very slow moving boat and get splashed with water. I know some people may think of that as fun, but I don't think I would ever want to waste my time on it.
EDIT:
One more thing - I'm 14 years old, and none of my friends want to ride BB.
I say it is evenly divided with some liking the interactive elements and a nice cool down while others dislike the slow pace and doing nothing but squirting guns at people or them at you. I say as long as this is the very last of family-focused rides for a bit who cars. We just need to get past this kid friendly atmosphere before kids and families take over the whole park. What a nightmare.
^^I agree. If they took down American Eagle, and I could careless if they did that, I would still think this isn't my type of ride. The crank thing is just dumb in my opinion. I'm not the person that is putting $.25 in the Roaring Rapids machines to squirt people and get my kicks out of it.

I think it is good that we got a new attraction this year, and hopefully when we finally get some decent weather it will draw alot of people and make other lines shorter.
But overall I would agree with Coaster Kid's thought's on the ride. This would have been good if they put it in the water park and removed something from that park. For the main park I think we need a ride that isnt seasonal and has a high capacity of riders. As for DV the loss of the ride doesnt bother me, but when you lose rides like DV/SWF/SSA and have other rides like Yankee Clipper/Hometown Fun machine that rarely operate and then lose shows like the Bugs Bunny Show/SWT stunt show and a lame show in the pictorium with the only decent replacement being TDK the park is reducing its offerings which will result in longer lines.

So what you're saying is you'd rather have the park taken over by gangs and teens than by kids and families.

I'm wondering how many people have actually seen people riding this on a hot day. It's not supposed to be the most thrilling ride, but it is a blast if you ride it while people are around, not to mention incredibly refreshing on a hot summer day.
But if you go in with a grumpy and bummed-out attitude, it's obviously gonna suck... so it's up to you really.
Did I mention how angry I was when I first heard about it? I was NOT happy that they were taking out (arguably) the most thrilling coaster in the park to put in a friggin kiddie ride. However, I kept an open mind when I saw it and ended up loving it... so yeah.
Coasters Ridden: 131 Top 5: Maverick, El Toro, Voyage, Fahrenheit, Dominator
I've Ridden Bucc 6x This Season and It's Great But it Needs More Water Effects/Targets. That Thing is FUN however (Btw, I Don't Care Deja Vu is Removed, It was Expensive to Maintain and Rarely Open so Good Riddence and I'm 20 and Enjoy Buccaneer Battle WAY WAY WAY MORE THAN DARK KNIGHT, But that's not saying much )
I don't want gangs running my park I want to feel like I fit in even though I'm not a kid anymore or have a family with me. I completely agree we lost too much too soon and thus only one seasonal ride has been put in. That is a joke. This is what should have been involved with expanding Hurricane Harbor. It is a nice family ride but it looks so out of place and will never be used when the temps are low. Almost as bad as with the downtime and closed periods with Deja Vu. For now I keep hearing how small the BB lines are. Weather hasn't been boiling hot but that shouldn't mean people like it it just means people want to cool off and all water rides are then popular.
Well last Fright Fest, it was quite warm. Maybe the guns surrounding the ride could be shut off. Bringing this up makes me wonder if there could be any Fright Fest decor for BB.

This should happen any day that below 75 degees so more people use the ride and not be a chicken on the sideline squirting people on the boats. The staff will be actual doing something and not standing around waiting for next ground willing to get soaked. Oh wait drenched I mean

If gangs want to go to an amusement park, they will still come in whether you build a family ride, or not. It doesn't matter. It just means you need to beef up security. Gangs could come into Kiddieland if they wanted to, but if you have no one policing them, you are in for trouble.
Family rides doesn't automatically mean no gang members, and big roller coasters doesn't always mean gang members. So, why did / do they have problems at Six Flags Magic Mountain? First, season passes are really cheap, and they could potentially hang out there. Secondly, I think the Six Flags Security force should be stronger. Get some more real police in the parks! If something major happens, call them. Sure, the security force at Six Flags can kick people out and such they have now, but what about fights, and SFMM getting robbed at the parking booth. Those things can be easily stopped with better security.

I went on it and loved it. I think it is a decent replacement for Vu. I surely do miss Vu, but it is never coming back, and I've accepted that. BB is a fun ride, especially when it is cold, me and my friend were screaming our heads off when we were being sprayed.
What is the need for another water ride in the park? They have the boats, logs, and rafts...and a water park! I would have rather seen the money that was spent on BB be spent on either a new roller coaster OR to properly maintain the park...new paint, fixing some 'rundown' buildings and props...etc.
I have to say, this ride would have been perfect for Hurricane Harbor. It's a small ride with a goal to get you soaked. To me, that sounds like a ride for a water park. It really has no place in Country Fair. It's really sad to see the park's once strong original theming be destroyed so much...with misplaced rides and food options.
