So as some of you know the other obsession for me is the Pontiac Fiero sports car. For the second year I drove my 88 Fiero Formula up for the all-Fiero show at the Chula Vista resort. Also decided to cram some rides on Avalanche in while I was there. Wasn't going to screw around with Mt. Olympus since I didn't have cash for parking (yes parking is now $5).
SATURDAY: Weather looked like crap Saturday morning but still managed to dodge most of the rain
Fueled up and 45 mins later it died near Madison. Started right back up after a few minutes and made it the rest of the way with no problems
...and what a place to break down near. LOL. I don't even want to know what a beer lube is.
Thanks to that I got there late. Crap.
Time to walk around!
Dells Run!
More Fieros!
Hooray for free stuff!
Time for the other obsession! Was going to do Mt. Olympus but didnt have cash for parking, so I settled for getting my ass kicked by Avalanche/Hellcat. It's rough as hell but still a great little ride! Thanks to a mixup I ended up with 7 rides for the price of 2, despite the 5-ride-limit signs!
The "Top Secret" fun house. Whatever it is it looks neat, might check it out one day.

SUNDAY: Breakfast/Awards/"Auction off the Decklid Vents" time:
...and be ready to cough up alotta dough. The family and I all walked in, sat down, looked at the menu, and ended up bailing out before we could order. The bowl of mashed potatoes was $11 and that was the cheapest thing. Steak and lobster was the cost of another night at the Chula Vista. Oops...
Time to head home, and here we are again. Might be time for an ignition module.
At least I broke down in a less bizarre place this time
Looking forward to next year! Timber Falls is a pretty decent park for what it is, the employees were friendly and it was somewhat clean. Might be back there for Mt. Olympus later this year.

Somewhere in Florida a village is missing its idiot. He can be found in Washington D.C.
Yes, the parking fee is new as I was surprised when I pulled into the lot because I didnt see it on the site. They have metal poles set up near the edges of the parking lot that feed traffic to the back of the lot where they have a guy next to an orange box taking cash.
Timber Falls had "5-RIDE LIMIT" signs plastered at all the ticket windows and in the queue for Avalanche, but because of a mixup I ended up getting 7 rides for the price of two. New cashiers and new computers make a wonderful combination.

I wonder how much longer Timber Falls will be open. This sudden pay parking and ride limits are clearly moves of desperation. If they were simply being greedy these changes would have happened a long time ago. I can't think of any other attraction in WI Dells with a pay parking lot. Though admittedly I dont go there often.

There were 92 Fieros in the showfield, and 9 in the parking lot. The clubs do other Fiero shows around the country, the Illinois club has one in St. Charles in September.
Last summer the Michigan club did one in Pontiac for the 25th anniversary of the car's launch, they had several hundred Fieros in attendance, along with some of the GM prototypes (many were sold over the winter) and the actual 1984 Indy pace cars.
The grey Lambo rebody is owned by the Wisconsin Fiero Fanatics club president and was just barely finished enough for the show, he is still working on the some of the windows, mirrors, and vents. The red Ferrari rebody has I think a supercharged 3800II V6 and has been seen doing wheelies. When they did the parade the guy told me he almost did one as he was leaving the parking lot but decided not to at the last minute.

[jonrev] wrote:$5 cash only, and 5 rides per day (though you could always wait for the next employee shift and do it again if they don't notice).
That's what I heard from some other people from another site doing. I think the $5 parking isn't too bad. I'm not saying it's good. But even still, it has some of the best deals in the Dells for your money and thrills in the park. Now, I would like to see Mt Olympus get a nice Euro Fighter in place of of the now defunct Atlantis. That'll boost it up! Not sure where I'm going with this though.

This is a photo I took of it about 3 years ago. It looks a lot different now like flags are down and it's neater on the outside. From what I've heard it's one of the worst attractions in the Dells. I thought about visiting it myself until I saw it got very poor reviews from many travel sites. The only thing good at the Dells is Mt Olympus, Timber, water parks, resorts, and one very cool themed Mc Donalds!
