Memorial Day was a very interesting day. We arrived around 9:45 and there were already lots of cars in the parking lots. They actually let us into the park this time before 10. The Hometown Square chain was packed with people. Once it opened, we walked over to Viper, and got first train of the day in the first row of the last car. As we were exiting, we were wondering why we had not seen Bull running yet. As we got to a certain point, we noticed that it was stuck on the lift hill. The first train of the day too. I had to laugh. We waited for it to open back up. We were glad we were at the front of the line instead of way back onto the midway. Was a bit of a wait thanks to two-train op, but we got on. When we got off, we noticed the line was already packed! They had just opened up the second queue house!
It was about time for HH to open up, so we went back to the car and got our stuff. This time, we decided not to use a locker and I'm glad we did. I had no idea small locker prices went up to $11. There was no reason to use a locker anyway. We went into the wave pool, and it was cold at first, but once you got used to the water, it was colder being out of the water. Waves took forever to start, and did not last long at all as they decided to do some lifeguard training or something. We then decided to go on Tornado, knowing we were going to freeze our butts off. It's my favorite slide though, so we have to go on it. No lines of course. It wasn't quite as cold as I anticipated, and it was a great ride as I went backwards. I just wish they would install a lift thing for the tubes, they are so difficult to carry up there. Right after that, we decided to see how cold the water was in Castaway Creek. It actually wasn't bad at all, so we decided to go in it for one round. Then we went in the wave pool again, I think. After that, we decided to dry off in order to warm up before going on any other slides. After warming up, we went over to the bowl slides and went on Typhoon and Vortex. Such awesome slides. I wanted to go on more so bad but it was so cold. We went into the wave pool again to "warm up" and this time there were some good waves, had tons of fun. But then a poor kid had to be saved, and then it was time for a scheduled safety break. So we decided to warm up and lay in the sun for a while.
After laying in the sun, we went out to the car and decided to grab something to eat because I was starving. When we came back in, it started raining. All of the rides stayed open though. We headed over to BTR and waited about 20 minutes for that. It was such an awesome ride, I wanted to ride it again, especially since the line had gotten shorter. The wait was about the same though, and after our second ride on it we were pretty dizzy!
After that, we walked on over to American Eagle. Now here is the most interesting part of the day. I think it is a sign that I need to lose weight. It was a very short wait. We went in one of the last rows. The lapbar wouldn't go down all the way for me because of my fat belly that I've had forever. I've never had a problem with the lapbars though. So they were racing today. The first half of the ride was all fun and good. But when we get up to the helix, of course there was airtime but as I came back down my lapbar did too. It was stuck under my belly fat, and I wasn't exactly completely sitting down anymore. It hurt like a #!$@%! Especially when the train got to the rougher parts of the helix, and going over more hills... I was screaming my head off! And my boyfriend was LAUGHING at me! Lol, it was probably my worst ride on American Eagle, but it was also funny as I was laughing afterwards. When it came time to get out, the lapbar was stuck under my fat! I started freaking out thinking that I was stuck there and a ride op would have to come and help. But Jason tried helping me and he got it to go up. What I'm wondering is why are the lapbars so darn close to the body? IDK, I guess I just have to lose that belly fat. But this has never happened to me before. It was quite interesting. It was still raining a bit.
After that, we rode GAR like always. At the end, I accidentally bumped the car in front of us kinda hard! Then we played a game and I got a Supergirl tie. I've always wanted one of those. Then, we sprayed some people on BB and I got sprayed back! We went on Demon, which was about a 20 minute wait. Good ride.I like how they turn the lights off in the tunnel early, kinda makes it more scary. After that, I decided I desperately needed something from the car. It was about 6:30 and my boyfriend said they might not have re-entry now. They stop it at 7 so we had some time left.
As we were exiting, we saw... what?! Six Flags giving away free stuff?!?! That's insane! They were giving everyone bags of the new Pretzel Crisps, the Buffalo Wing flavor. They were pretty good. A lot of people just simply threw them on the ground though. Lots of litter in the parking lot. So we came back in just before 7 and decided to go on SUF. Yay, short line, and even people leaving the line, which must mean it is broken down... People said it was stuck in the station. We decided to wait it out. After some time, these guys who were leaving the line were telling us "You might as well just go, cause you're not gonna get on it, we've been waiting a while and it's not coming back up" and boom the ride is fixed. They were already out of line and they just stared at the ride once people in the station started cheering. It was one of those "ohhh, BURN" moments. It was quite funny. So people had been stuck on both trains and they all got exit passes. After that train went through, they had to test it. Then it eventually opened back up, and we went in row 7.
It was about 7:40 when we got off, so we had to get over to Bull. We got on a few minutes after closing, and it was a great ride. While exiting, about 6 girls behind us were screaming throughout the ENTIRE exit path. It was really annoying. Heck they were still screaming on the midway too. Someone even told them to shut the $#@! up but I think he should have said that louder lol. Overall, a fun and interesting day. I think they closed HH at 6 instead of 7 cause it didn't look open after 6.
