Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby rcoaster on May 17th, 2009, 12:43 pm
Got there at about 9:45, and waited by the block before Mardi Gras to ride V2.

Image
First ride was V2, second ride of the day, front row. Still no holding brake.

=============================================

Image
Went over to see the new Buccaneer Battle. The temperature was in the low 50's, and I dared myself to ride it. It was a fun ride, and I got soaked since there were some cruel people on midway shooting water at me. I think only one other person was on the ride with me, but I thought it was fun.... just not in the cold.

The employees at the park are VERY VERY polite and enthusiastic. That's a great improvement!

Next up... Raging Bull!
Image
When I got there at around 10:45, there was a line to the entrance, and my guess would be that it broke down because there were people in the station. Otherwise, great ride... But only a two train operation on a crowded day in May.

===============================================

Now time for some American Eagle

Image
Only one blue train today, so every other train got to race, and I happened to be one of those.

Red train hiding behind some trees

Uh-oh. Blue side is feeling a little down....

I'm a Mac. And I'm a PC.

Time for a relaxing ride on Iron Wolf

A Visit to Gotham City
Image

Image
The cops came, so we evacuated into the Bat cave.
Image
Image
After evacuation, we ended up in the same spot we started, so we just made a left to the exit, and everything was now okay... But it wasn't. So I ran to Wayne Central Station to get the hell out of this city.
Image
Image
Image
The train made a huge circle, and we ended up back in the station! (Even more new effects added: Disco lights at the end of the ride! And the bus horn goes off every few cars)
**A man was smoking inside, in line. Got away with it.... Unseen, but the employees did announce that who ever is smoking better put it out.
===============================================

Hopefully Superman will save the day... Ah. But is it Superman?

It was like that on Friday too when I was there. You would have thought that it would have been fixed by Saturday? :D

^ Same reason they park Sky Treck Tower at the top when its closed or not in operation. That reason is so that the cables are on the inside of the tower (out of the weather).

There is also something about having it up to keep people off the ride. With security the way it is, I don't know if that really is that much of an issue, but if its up at the top, people can't mess the cabin or the cars.

^^ When the cars are at the top, the cables are inside the tower and therefore protected from the elements (in the case of yesterday, wind).

EDIT: Brian beat me to it

If it is not done in the next month or so I say don't look for it to be fixed anytime this season. We have the busiest time of the season coming up (Memorial Day-Summer Daily Attendance). If they don't care now they won't mid-summer or just for FF.

I would say the holding brake already is not happening this season. The park is already in daily operation.

Does anyone know where they moved the Five Point Challenge? Is it still close to the BB area? Not that I like it or anything just wondering...

If you look at the online park map, it shows it directly accross from Orbit and next to the first aid station.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Yes, the 3 point challenge is across from Orbit. The other basketball game (This is the one that was in County Fair, and than they took it out because of Johnny Rockets - It was blocking the restaurant.) is around Buccaneer Battle.

^I got on the back row of bull at like 10:30 and we waited and waited and then "attention guests, we are having a temperary in operation, we ar unsure how long it will take to find a solution. You can stay and wait or exit the way you leaved. blah blah... then we were forced to get off. they sait the train wouldn't leave the station, so we got off and waited on the exit ramp. after about 4 mo-peds, 4red trucks, and 1 mystery machine they got the people off the train that was witing to go into the station, on the orange platform, and then they did 1 test and we got on. its was annoying, and I got it all on video, so expect it on youtube soon. :D
