Got to the park at noon, park closed at 1. I figured it would, really I just wanted a free admission ticket for a friend of mine. It was pouring so I made a quick lap of the park. Rode Viper twice, it was hauling like nobodys business with it's rain slicked tracks. Got one ride on Bull which was it's usual disappointing self. American Eagle was running pretty near brakeless. The brake at the top of the barrel just barely scraped along the train, took no speed off really, brakes at the bottom as usual were full off, and the final helix took maybe 3-5mph off, it was an airtime machine, wish it ran like that all the time, rain slickened it up nicely as well. Next up was king chaos and my 1 flip ride which barely made it that one flip. Even the final roll it grabbed the gondola to late so at best we just had a general downward view at the end of the ride, at first I thought it was gay, then I decided it was in fact extremely gay and I moved on. Superman was going to take one ride in the front row, but as I was getting off it was announced there'd be only one more ride, so I rode in the back row.
After that went to the park exit and claimed my free admission ticket good for the rest of the season
Other than that, here are a few general updates from around the park that I noticed.
Most rides were closed including Hometown Fun Machine, Whizzer, GAR, Eagle Blue, Batman by the time I got to it, though it was running when I entered the park, etc. V2 apparently hasn't been touched since last week(at least visually from views you can get from the midway). I saw Demons Yellow train on the storage track loaded with water dummies. As shown in another thread, BB is nearing completion. Eagle Red has 2 trains on now, running only one, the one that was off the tracks last week was running this week, the train is in horrible shape, the lapbars are almost black from wear with chunks missing, everything is rusted and/or scratched and it just generally looks really bad. Way to go off season maintenance! Not much else changed in the park from what I could tell.

Why spend more upkeep budget on ride maintenence when they can spend it on things like that awesome new Raging Bull sign
Well, I know they refurb one train per year and cycle through the 3 trains per side, and generally the non refurbished train looks sorta junky. My real question behind that is why wasn't it on the tracks on opening day? They obviously were not working on it. In fact why even bother taking that train off over the winter? I'm sure it needed a few new wheels and whatnot but minor work like that can be done easily on the storage track.

^ There are 3 per side, but only 2 per side run now. Eagle used to run 3 per side with the brakes at the helix being a block. Same as Whizzer having 5 trains and only running 3.
