Six Flags Great America - Fright Fest - October 11thWell im going to try to be rather brief since I really don't like writing TR's but felt that this years Fright Fest deserved at least a little one.Got there around maybe 9:30 and had to wait in a long line to get in the park.Ran to Deja Vu and had a pretty easy 3rd place, I had a bad starting spot so my brother and this other guy we always see at the park got thier before me. Last year it used to be fun to run to Deja Vu since thats where everyone was going lol, now that Superman's open thier is nobody to beat to the ride and you just end up very tired. Which made realize that I need to start running some more .Deja Vu opened on time, which is a miracle in itself. While we were walking up the line we were talking with the guy we always see at the park...I don't know his name and don't care to know lol. So anyhow, everytime we see him we have very bad luck with Deja Vu. He usually ends up on the train before us and the ride usually breaks down right after he gets off...or he gets stuck in the restraint and they have to take the whole seat apart to get him out (happened once).Me and my brother went to Row 1A as usual in the morning and he was behind us, so we wished him bad luck laughing about how we hope it breaks down right after we get off this time as payback. So we get on Deja Vu have a awesome ride as usual, get off and we hear the "Ladies and Gentleman Deja Vu is experiencing a temporary delay in operation" too funny. If your not laughing, then its one of the "You had to be thier type jokes". Moving along....I had been hearing about the effects that had been added to Giant Drop for a few weeks so I had to go check that out next. So off to Giant...err...Hellevator we went. This year they have sound effects on Giant Drop which include music during loading, skretching as your going up and then at the top it sounds like a cable snaps before you drop. Then when you get to the bottom you get 1 of 3 sound effects. I heard glass shattering and a explosion type song. While this didn't add much to the ride experience it is a nice touch I think, and makes the ride look cooler for people passing by.Im getting tired of typing now, so the TR is about to speed up.Then we hit Raging Bull (15 mins.), Batman (10 mins), Iron Wolf (15 min.), Eagle Red (5 mins.).After we got off Eagle we noticed how crowded the park was getting, so we hit Superstition...which is a little better then Space Shuttle America but not by much. And then went to lunch. As we were leaving for lunch the main parking lot was full. And there was a huge line to get in to park, so we knew we would be parking in the overflow lot when we got back .Got back and basically walked in circles until Necropolis opened at 2p.m. I think we ended up going through it 6-7 times by the end of the night since the lines were so long. It's pretty good. The one guy there would eat everything and everything off the ground, he would have you spit in his hand and he would lick it up...he even went so far as to make himself puke on the ground and then he licked it up. Crazy lol.The Freak Show was pretty cool too, the highlight of the show would have had to be a guy they were calling T2. Guy looked really normal until he took off his sunglasses and he had no EYE! You have to see it, its pretty odd to say the least.About 1 1/2 to 2 hours before closing lines towards the back of the park started to get shorter again, so we got on Whirlgig, Iron Wolf, Eagle Blue, and Orbit which now features strobe lighting when its vertical. Then we waited in line for Deja Vu, right when we got in the station though a downpour came...about 20 minutes after the park had closed for the night. I was thinking we weren't going to get a ride but after waiting about 15 minutes or so the rain let up and they got the final few trains out since the line had cleared out.Oh yeah, I forgot to mention up there even though its probably not worth mentioning but the Scobby Doo Mystery Train is the REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD!!! I can't describe in words how lame this is. I even heard a 5 year old say to his Dad "This stinks". It's not even laughable at how bad it sucks its very sad. If your going to Fright Fest DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!Okay and that sums up a very rare TR by me.This has been the Trip Report...OF DEATH (Only Tom, or anybody who saw the Jugglers O Death will get that one)
Dude, I was there when he ate that stuff too! There was a big croud around him and he wanted some lady to get it on film. When he ate it i'm surprised I didn't get puked on.
He did it a few times, I saw him eat his own puke twice. The first time he did it some girl said I bet you won't eat puke and he said, "so your saying im not nasty" as he was trying to puke he started to laugh lol. There was only a little group of people at this time, but later in the night he had a really big group around him while he was doing it lol. He had everyone calling himself "Camptian Nasty".
I was there yesterday, and I was so glad that they put more effort into it this year. Yeah, Captain Nasty was to funny, and nasty. I'm not sure if anyone saw me yesterday, I was wearing a Jay and Silent Bob shirt on.
The guy with the brain on the stick was pretty good I licked it 9 times and the killer clowns love chasing you their fun the be around by the American Eagle. The Jason at the end of Mosoleum of Terror with the chain saw scared the Hell out of me. I went to Necropolis with Da Rcman2001 about like 10 times waiting for more characters to come out. Really dont think they are done they had more stuff in Necropolis last year. Its alway better at night because you cant see the characters then it is scary. This truley is the best Fright Fest ever I think!
The best part of this year is that they made every thing better except in Home Town Square they play the stupidest music ever and the alens are kind of stupid but the little kids enjoy them i guess?
I was wondering if anyone knew when they were going to put the king kong blowup on the top of the sky trek tower. I heard it was going to happen wednesday, but never saw or heard about it.
Yep, King Kong is indeed up atop Sky Trek Tower. NBC-5 ended its newscast showing the 53-foot King Kong gripping Sky Trek Tower and the four spiders on American Eagle.
