We got to the park around 1 with my two friends, my mom, and my grandpa. We rode Columbia but to my disgust, they were playing rap and britney spears on it. Luckily, my I-pod was with me so I played my own carousel music Triple Play's line was waaaay too long so we went to Orbit. 1 cycle wait and my friend Jeffrey liked it for his first ride. After that, we rode Demon in the 3rd row. The wait was just past the cave under the lift. We then went to AE. It was having a lot of technical difficulties. When we got in line, we saw tons of people leaving because red train was stuck at the top of the lift and they didn't have blue side open. They started testing blue but red didn't re-open until we were in the station. Good ride as usual but the wait was somewhat horrendous. While my mom and grandpa ordered food, we ran over to Great America Idol. First, me and Jeremy sang Soul Man, then we all sang Twist and Shout which was a little smoother except for the beginning. After that,we did the papa johns family meal deal and jesus, they gave us a lot of pink lemonade. Then, to Raging Bull. The line went 3 lanes into the second station. I felt so bad for Jeffrey who had never been on it and was freaking out the whole time. This is where it gets good. We got Teal train. Jeffrey sat down, then changed his mind and tried to get up. I pulled down his lap bar. He nearly had a mental breakdown but as I expected, he was alright afterwards and nobody lost their lunch. We went around to IW and that was huuuuuge mistake. Jeffrey opted out of it so me and Jeremy went front row. I have never been beaten up so much in my life. it seemed like no matter where you put your head, you couldn't avoid getting smacked around. Never again. With 20 minutes to spare, we high-tailed it over to Condor. 1 cycle wait. I listened to my marriotts music the whole ride. =) Good day although IW got me in a bad mood. btw, Yankee Clipper IS still drained so I don't expect it to re-open this year. Oh, also: It appears the Fright Fest banners are back to the original orange and black because they were all around the park. Beats the ugly purple ones.
Well glad you had fun, besides IW that is. YC must be done for the season then. Why do they play britney spears and rap around the park, it takes away from the themeing.
Ha im lucky, I rode IW with him and for some reason it is never rough for me, its pretty smooth, and going up the lift we were in search of Power Dive at the top I said "LOOK I found it", it is just straight ahead and on a slight angle.
"The rides are GREAT, The shows are GREAT, the fun is GREAT. At Marriott"s GREAT AMERICA!"
They better not be bad tomorrow. It is Wednesday, the last Wednesday in August and the park is closed Thursday/Friday and most people will probably wait till Labor Day weekend. Hopefully.
I wasn't there, but on these days there are usually a lot of buses at the park. Also, did you go on Demon right when it opened? Remember, there are people that look at the County Fair sign that says that area is closed until 11 am, and thus they might come back at 11, and than you get a longer line because everyone can't wait to ride it. What were some other wait times?
Also, probably not all rides are going to be open like flats so it seems more packed. You also have no waterpark, and who knows about how many shows are running.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
Yeah but it is late in the season. Shortened operating schedule, schools back in session, middle of the week and I still think Labor Day is when people who want to go to the park will choose to go. I just do NOT want to spend $$ on flash passes so hopefully it won't be bad. $70 with coupon for two people is ridiculous.
