Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby revolutiongurl on August 14th, 2008, 12:33 pm
Yesterday was a great day at the park! I went with my 'blood sister' Adrianna, you might remember her, the 9-year-old who I wish would grow up and go on the big rides (JK...well, kinda :oP) and her Dad, who doesn't like rides but took us because Ade really wanted to go again. Anyway, the weather forecast called for thunderstorms but we decided to stick it out and hope for the best...well we weren't disappointed as the crowds weren't bad at all and it was dry and beautiful all day!

We got to the park at around 10:30 and headed to Triple Play. There were only three people in front of us in line, whoo! We did yellow, which is the funnest :o)

Whizzer was next, we waited about 15-20 minutes, second to back row. It's fun but I don't much like sitting in back of Ade. I love it when the people in the row next to you in line want to ride with their friends or family members, so they let you go in front of them! That was the case with Whizzer.

Ade LOVES The Orbit, so we did that next, it was a one-cycle wait. After that we ate cheese bread for lunch at Firehouse Pizza...yum...

Adey wanted to see how bad DK's line was (she loves it) and it was 2 hours! Yikes! We decided to wait until later in the day, which has worked other days. So we headed to Ragin' Cajun (another favorite of Ade's) and waited 45 minutes (cursed low capacity). We really enjoyed listening to 'Wicked' on my Ipod while waiting.

I had my eye on some real thrills (a.k.a. Batman) so Adey and her Dad rode ERC. Batman was only a 15 minute wait! Nice! Second to back row.

V2's line was blech so we skipped it and went to Spacely's, which Ade rode with her Dad and I rode all alone :sniff: JK! I love looking really bored when the camera comes up :oP

I asked how long Eagle's line was, they said 15 minutes..so Adey and her Dad rode Fiddler's Fling. Well I walked right on Red side! Whoo! I sat near the back, I just LOVE the airtime on that ride.

Next Adey and I decided to do Great America Idol. First we sang 'We got the beat' together, which was good. I wanted to sing 'I want you back' (Jackson 5) I thought 'I don't know all the words, but I know the tune so I can wing it from there by looking at the screen.' That is waay easier said then done and I made a complete fool of myself. :sigh: Then Adey sang 'It's my party' and did great. I wanted to make up for my awfulness so I did 'Over the rainbow'. I thought, I've done it before so I won't mess it up. Wellllll as it turns out for some reason they played in a different key then usual. It was way too low. Ugh!

Well by then we were just tired of singing so I bought a Sprite and headed towards Viper. That was a half-hour wait. In line I met this really cute little girl..I told her about the ride because it was her first time riding it. Since she was with two other people she would've had to ride alone, so upon finding out I was too riding alone she asked if we could ride together, so I said yes, glad to have a buddy! (we rode near the back)

Next Adey, who had just done Chubasco and Ricky was hot so we both got Dippin' Dots. Then I checked to see how long Raging Bull's line was and it was a glorious 20 minutes!! So..Ade rode RR and I did Bull..fun!!!

So Ade wanted to check DK's line again. It was 1 1/2 hours so we did Whirligig again, basically a walk on (half cycle wait). Then, we went to Great America Idol again. She sang It's my party again, and I sang Leader of the Pack and finally suceeded. Yay!

Then, the trouble started. I wanted to do Eagle again, so I asked Ade's Dad where we should meet after I was done and he said 'we'll wait for you here'. so I hopped on Eagle, had an amazing time as usual...I went back to where they said they'd be and lo and behold, they were gone! I was running around the area for close to 20 minutes until finally I saw them back where they should've been all along. Apparently Ade wanted to ride HFM and they left, while I had no way of knowing they were gone when they said they'd be right there, watching the show, waiting for me.

Sooo I went to Demon because I wanted to be alone for some time. I rode front row for the first time, that was about 5 minutes. It was nice to be up front but the headbanging is worse up there. Oh well, I still had a good time.

I caught up with Ade, who had ridden Triple Play again, and her Dad looked miffed. We decided to ride Dark Knight and go home since they didn't want to stay any longer after that. I spotted Whack-a-mole, which Ade and I thought we wanted to do earlier and she said 'I already did!' kind of snotty, so I said, 'oh I thought we were going to do it together!' and her Dad butted in and said "You're always off riding your rides and you can't expect us to wait around for you!" but earlier he had made it clear to me that I could ride any rides I wanted that Ade didn't want to ride, and they would wait. I was very mad. I had been so scared, looking all over for them, and he was the one who was angry?

Anyway, Ade and I ended the day waiting about an hour for Dark Knight. I don't get why people think it's lame, I love it!!!!! To pass the time we played '20 question'.

Anyway besides that whole losing my party at age 14 scenario, the day was GREAT and I was very thankful to Ade's dad for taking us. The weather was lovely, the crowds weren't too bad and Ade was a happy camper most of the day!
Eh.......I got nothing.
