Around Noon, My dad said he wanted to go to Great America and after eating and getting ready, not without crazyness, were off to first get my dad his Parking Pass. We paid with our United Card in the Perferred Parking area for $25.00 and asked a women about the guest surveys I've been hearing about on Screamscape. After a Few Minutes of Giving her my Phone Number, Age, Zip Code, etc. We were in the Park. We then went to Season Pass Processing, Got our Wristband for Free Sodas all day, Season Pass Discount Booklet, and Parking on my Dad's Pass. Soon we were in Hurricane Harbor.
First we set up shop in front of Hurricane Bay wave pool and went to the Saltwater Sal's to fill up with Sprite. Immediately I headed to the Raft Rides and rode both (The Twisting One First). Then I hurried over the Lazy River and was so relaxed I could've fallen asleep. Sadly, the wave area that it used to have was either gone or out-of-service. I then headed over to ride the Bowl Slides when I met a women in a kinda of Top Management outfit and Asked her if she was doing Guest Interviews. She said that she was evaluating employees and would like to hear some things. I mentioned Screamin Swings where SSA is, Solar Panels, Replace the Blacktop with Concrete, and a Coaster around the Picnic Grove.
I then rode one of the Bowl Slides (Green and Blue One). I then checked back with my dad and finished the Sprite. Apparently Sprite has more sugar than Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, Go Figure. He said that he wanted Diet Coke and I got a refill of Diet Coke. He said 15 more minutes because I had to meet my therapist. So since I was there, I went in the Wave Pool and talked quickly to a Mom & Daughter about the SFOG kid and They said they were on Raging Bull back in 03 when the Gum Incident Happened. Either I haven't been in the wave pool in a long time or They amped up the Power but the waves were strong today.
My dad and I got left the waterpark and stopped at Hometown Funnel Cakes and got 2 yes I said 2 Funnel Cakes, I went over to Firehouse Pizza and had Poppin Pink Lemonade. The Person there was really nice and actually asked me if I wanted Ice which I said no (A little Back story- The People at Saltwater Sal's did it without asking). I actually couldn't finish my Funnel Cake and my dad heard that Geico Commercial about lowered rates in IL and was surprised about it. We then continued walking and left the park.
The End, Hopefully My First Trip Report was up to sfgamworld.com Standards

All she probably did was probably tell the people in her office to have a good laugh......at least thats what I did when enthusiasts suggested new rides to me In reference to asking people what they want (what you read on screamscape): its called reasearch. All businesses do it, theme parks ask people what new rides they want to see all the time, it doesnt mean they actually have any interest in building it. The fact of the matter is Scream Swings have a lot of maintenence issues and wont be built at another SF park, concrete would be much preffered however with the amount of trucks/cars that drive on the parks midways its just cheaper to have blacktop that can easily be replaced and SF doesnt care about details that much, and the Picnic Grove makes a TON of money for SF sales and wont be removed.
New rides are determined ENTIRELY based on numbers: they look at who they are targeting with the ride, location of the ride, costs involved, and most importantly the return they will see on that costs. If theres one thing we've seen its that [at least for right now] Six Flags is not willing to spend a lot of money on a new ride, and with all the problems they've been having dealing with manufacturers (Arrow, Vekoma) they will go with a manufacturer they are comfortable dealing with.
Nobody died on Raging Bull because of chewing gum, she had a brain aneurysm
Its your opinion and im not basing it, but by posting it on a public forum your opening yourself up for criticism, if you were suggesting that something needs to be repaired/painted it wouldnt be funny, but by telling random employees that they should build a S&S Screamin Swing I personally think is kind of funny.
Also look at SSA's location and look at Hurricane Harbors crowds, why do you think they would want to build a flat ride in prime HH expansion area.
You do have me on the Screamin Swing though, I was thinking about the crazy S&S flat at Six Flags New England for some reason...
^Large park models handle 40 people per cycle, which are generally pretty short. The line always moves quickly at Valleyfair!
Coasterboy, I think you have the greatest memory ever. I would never remember so many random details in a trip report.
And sorry, but I've gotta say SFGAm_07 has a pretty good point. While we may have some good ideas for the park, we certainly don't work there nor do should we serve as advisors for the company.
