July 2nd......a rainy day

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Ragingbullmaniac on July 2nd, 2008, 7:35 pm
Well the storm that was predicted did show up......but it took awhile!!! (fortunatly) anyway here was my day....

Arrived at the park at 9:50ish and went to go get my season pass printed right away. Hopped on the Orbit without waiting then went to the Raging Bull.... we discovered the new (well new to me since I haven't been to SFGAm since 05!!) locker regulation so we weren't so happy about that....
We hopped on with only a 15-20 minute wait...not bad I must say!!! :D After the Bull we walked to Giant Drop which had a small wait...about 5-10 minutes. Let me just say this...The Drop scares the sh*& outta me..... but since my mom and grandmother wanted to go on it I said alright.
After the drop we walked on to Demon. (seriously we walked on) Relaxed after demon with a few souvenir cups. :D My grandma needed to rest so my mom and I went on Revolution. (2 minute wait tops)
After that we headed to the Iron Wolf and waited for my grandma to get back from the bathroom. While we were in line for the Wolf it broke down so we waited for about 20 minutes then said ok lets go find something else then. So we left our stuff in the Wolf lockers and went to Batman!! Batman's line seemed long but they weren't using any zig zag queues so it wasn't bad.(maybe 35 minutes max.) I was hoping we were going to hear my song (U2-Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me) and it didn't look like it...but since we were waiting in the front row...a couple trains before we got on it started up and I was happy. (We got to hear almost the end of the song by the time we boarded and started up the lift)
After Batman we went to Roaring Rapids......this one had a decent 30 minute wait.....(grrrrr...but they all can't have short lines) After the Rapids (I didn't get wet except my back and my butt..which sucked slightly) We went back to Wolf and by this time it was operating again. A typical 15 minute wait for that.
When we finished with the Wolf it was food time (about 2:30 maybe 3pm) I got a Turkey Leg, which would prove to be bad later on :( It started looking cloudy by this time so we thought we would probably have to call it a day after one more ride. So we chose Superman since it is my Grandma's FAVORITE (and I mean favorite) ride. This one had about an hour wait if not a little more. We got front row for that. While we were in line it barely started sprinkling but the sun would peek out every now and then. After Superman it started to clear up but my Grandma was tired so we went and watched the Pictorium video about the Shallow Sea...it was alright. After we got out of that show around 5pm the sky started to look black over Viper and the Bull. We attempted to make it to one more thing but it started to DOWNPOUR on us so we were stuck under an awning by the pass processing center. It stopped for a few minutes and then suddenty poured again. All the rides were closed (except the ground ones) so when it stopped raining we headed to the Flags Gift Shop where I found....yes found. a SMALL Raging Bull tshirt. It was conveniently hidden behind TONS of XXL shirts.... (lucky find I guess) So We called it a day and left.

Overall it was a fun and productive day...crowds were somewhat small believe it or not (compared to other days!) I guess the rainy forecast and weekday timing turned out to be a good choice in the long run when looking at wait times!!!

So that was my day and it was fun! See you all next time when I have another TR!!

:P

sounds like someone found it earlier and it was the last one so they hid it and were probably going to come back to get it

I can't believe that your grandma enjoys Giant Drop. I find that the scariest ride in the entire park!

i think that ride will always bug me....dunno why.... maybe its because elevators scare me. (i watched a lot of movies with the traditional cable-break = fall to death thing when i was little....)

maybe its because of all the safety precautions and stuff. like E brakes or something. im sure they have some other form of brakes just in case one fails. I'm not sure though.
