Lets just say, worst visit ever! Bull, GD, all of Mardi Gras' rides, STT (Opened first few hours), Revy (at times), AE Blue (retracking), Orbit (Special reason), and many many moe were closed! They all said "Closed for safety due to weather conditions" on the signs. It's because of the strong winds. I've been there one time with stronger and it wasn't that much shut down. They had 6 workers in front of Bull's line telling people who wanted to ride it that it was closed because of strong winds. Here's all I rode and many times I did it....
Viper -4 times V2- 1 time BTR- 1 time AE Red- 1 time Whizzer- 1 time
After that, I got bored because there was no Bull going which is the whole reason a came to opening day. The front of TDK looked awesome! Very neat indeed! Superman was closed most of the day then re-opened around 2:30. Viper was fun as usually with cool airtime in the back that I don't remember having! V2 was pretty fun, gets boring after the launch though. (No offense Dvurulz ) Batman TR was ok. Got me unusually sick though on the loops for some reason. It felt like I was going to blackout almost which never happened to me before. Whizzer, always a good family ride! Pretty smooth too! Always walking by Trailblazer's (best flat ever!) old spot, it makes my heart sink! I miss it dearly! AE Red good as usual! I had an alright time but people were so mad and some were swearing because of Bull being closed. Also, We went past Key Lime Cove and it was HUGE! Very cool looking from the outside! Sorry no pictures, I lost my didgital camera and my phone takes blurry pictures. I also saw at least 6 people wearing ACE (American Coaster Enthusiast) shirts. The parking is now at a rediculous price! 25 dollars to park in the normal spot now. 15 bucks to park way away from the park. More than half a mile away or more. I'm going to complain about those prices. Kind of stupid.

I dont think the other tr's will be any different. I was there and ALOT was closed but opened up later bull wasn't running because of high winds supposedly but why would they run v2 and basically every other ride. And the locker rule is SO stupid. You can't even walk into a line with one of those refillable drink containers. I agree it was probably one of the worst days at great america.
But you do have to realize that every ride is different and that the park did not opt to have a windy day. This stuff happens and it's only the first day.
I would assume that V2 would run due to the fact that you really don't have an issue with the train getting stuck on the ride course with the resistance from the wind, whereas Raging Bull could potentially become victim to something along those lines.
^That's a very good point! Raging Bull would be the only one with hills that high, the risk of valleying was probably high (but i'm no expert). At least you got to go on some rides, ttdrox, and i feel ya there about Trailblazer! Viper back row is the best and usually my first run of the day, so glad at least someone was there to fill my shoes. Did anyone wear any TrailblazerTony shirts for me like some promised?!
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter

I understand that, but I'v visited before with stronger winds and more stuff was opened. The guys in front of Bull said it was closed to do winds and if it broke down on the chain lift (very rare), a working cannot walk up the sides (catwalks) due to the strong winds. I guess I shouldn't known that was a lame excuse. So what is the real reason? I'm still very upset because of that!

Please get different sources because your brother, i mean "source" is wrong. I know the lead at the ride and the maintanence that were at the ride and it was only closed because of high winds. It's people like you giving out wrong info that gives all acer's a bad name
I have to agree. Perhaps it can be explained why it was down for some dire issue on Sat but open normally on Sun apparantly?
It was the wind. SFGAm just didn't want to F up the new paint job having to remove a track section to retrieve a stuck train, besides bad publicity if it stalled out with people aboard.
As an aside, perhaps someone in the know would like to explain a certain "anomaly" that has appeared on one of V2's supports, specifically the newer add-on support for the front spike a few feet up from the bottom most flange on the park facing side
When I get a pic that a friend of mine took of it, I may post it, but not sure yet, it's not the sort of thing that should be pointed out really except to those who may need to know (but probably already do)

^Interesting, please post the pic up. I would love to see what you mean about the V2 thing. I forgot to add, I can't remember, I think it was in Yukon people were advertising for Mt Olympus. Did anybody else notice that? They were saying that you can get cheap rooms with free tickets or something like that. I wonde rif SixFlags would ever buy the park out. Nah, doubt it!

I do not tell my brother jack, thank you very much. Acording to ASTM standards, B&M over 150ft close at 35mph, such as Hulk. It was actually the combination of COLD weather and HIGH winds that closed it not just HIGH winds. Don't insulte the brother, because do not forget the brother reads, and generally does not get along with him. . .And is not afraid of a fight. Congrats, you know a lead you must be very proud. . .Thats an acer thing to say.

Where do you get TrailBlazer shirts? I want one! Well, I'm going to SFGAm tomorrow (May 17th) and I hope I'll get to ride Bull at least 7 times since I didn't get to ride it at all opening day. By the way, Is bull still running with only 2 trains?

As of today, there are 4 cars from Teal train next to the ride. At this point, it looks like next weekend will be the first time it runs with passengers
