5/11/2008 - Can't think of a title...

Let us know how your day at the park was.

Hahaha. Today was definitely different.

We got to the park at about 9:30, and I counted about 5-6 cars in the parking lot. Sweet... but of course more came. They didn't let us through the park gates until 10. They also posted signs that said the park would close at 5 instead of 7. We went over by Superman... and surprisingly, they asked "Ready to ride?" and it was raining decently. So we go up, get on in the front row. The restraints were locked. I heard one of the ops say "Down?" or something like that... I had a strange feeling it was actually down. Yep, they unlocked the restraints and told us it could not run. Wonderful.

So we went over to King Chaos and rode that. It was pretty different. Instead of flipping backwards, it flipped forwards. It was awesome hahaha. We went over by Batman, closed. We rode Whirligig, and it was fun but I felt a little sick. We decided to go back the other way, and we ended up riding Sky Trek Tower. It was nice. While up there, we noticed many of the coasters testing, and even saw that Superman opened. Raging Bull was testing as well. Also, they've begun to fill up the pools in HH.

Once off the ride, we ran to Superman and waited for the front row. It was about 2 train wait. Pretty awesome ride in the rain PLUS being in front, haha. Once we came back into the station, the ride op said the park would be closing at NOON! I was very upset to hear this. I couldn't have been more angry and upset. So, we ran over to Bull cause we had to get on it. Yay, it's actually open, and Batman's not! Well anyway, we went in the back row. AWESOME ride, I had pins and needles in my face. By this time, I was pretty much over the fact that it was closing at noon. I was glad to ride Bull. In fact, we stayed on it 6 more times, making it 7 times without getting off. Would have been 8 but I couldn't handle much more. On our 5th ride, I started feeling sick and almost completely lost it at the last turn going into the brakes. I felt it coming up but I kept it down. I wanted to stay on though, so we did, and I survived.

By the time we got off the park was closed. I was upset, but whatever. We went to Gurnee Mills and had a good time, Pizza Hut, then we took to Edens just to see the wonderful skyline of Chicago...

But I'm pretty pissed off considering the weather cleared up almost as soon as they closed the prk. They should have waited it out. Because of this, I am SO going this Wednesday. I better be anyway. I still had fun though, I loved my 7 Bull rides.

SUF - 1
Whirligig - 1
STT - 1
KC - 1
Bull - 7
Not bad for 2 hours! :)

I havent been to the park at all this year or the previous season...and I know that its the beginning of the season BUT i just like to give my two cents. Sorry if im wrong or make anyone mad here.

I call the 08 the construction season. There is more construction going on there. Almost every picture Ive seen being taken here are all of construction. I do not agree that the first thing entering the park from grand ave is a big grey box ( BDK ). SSA is closed, SWF is being torn down, DeJaVu is obvious with the construction. So basically this semester were going to see alot of empty spots just sitting there.

Not only that but I think the whole locker things in front of the rides is a great idea. But Seriously placing it right in front of the lines wouldnt that make it over crowded.

Not only that but the advertisements are a little to much. I mean a big random box in mardi gras, the big geico sign on Viper.

Now im not trying to complain at every little thing. i do like what they did with "Camp Cartoon," the whole parking thing, and I like the entrance for BDK its pretty cool.

^ I'm not sure we read the same post. Can you keep it relevant? There are other posts for every topic you just covered.
