I return to SFGAM! 5-10-08

Let us know how your day at the park was.

Well, i'll start with the stuff you want to know:

Eagle Blue: It was OPEN today for a short period of time and then closed down. While open it was running one of the trains and the other one was cycling with water dummies.

Dark Knight: Not open, but scenery is REALLY starting to come along, you could hardly see the track in the box! The mechanics were working on the lift hill and old TR, there was painting and stuff, it's coming along nicely! Great T-Shirts for it too at the gift shop next to it! (I bought one)

Deja Vu: It's two stubs of steel now, no track at all, it should be entirely gone by next weekend.

Splashwaterfalls and Space Shuttle America seem untouched of course, Raging Bull is completely painted now, and there were a decent number of people at the new basketball game, so that's a good sign I guess.

Ride Count:

We didn't really ride too much, we all ended up getting headaches from all the little kids that were there (fricken annoying as hell!). I normally don't mind large groups of kids, but these were just obnoxious as ever for some reason! We counted over 150 North Face jackets in the first two hours, so when were done enjoying that game of "count the unoriginal children" they started just becoming annoyingly loud. Nevertheless, we got some rides in, it was awesome to finally be back into the park. I also got to spend time with my brother and his friends, which was nice cause i'm normally away at college and don't get to that often. Oh, and I saw Jackluver at Rue Le Dodge :)

Oh yeah, I also saw, in Director Guy's terms "That Guy" today twice, once at Daredevil Dive and once when he was jumping up to a park map where a group of kids looked lost. Both times he didn't hear me say hi.

RB: 1
GD: 1
AER: 1
Spacelys: 1
V2: 1
Whirligig: 1
Cajun: 1
Rue: 1

After the park, we headed over to Gurnee Mills to get our last minute mothers day gifts and a cheap dinner, which is why we didn't stay long to get a lot more rides in. The weather held out decently, the drive sucked with all the traffic on 294, but the lines being 15-20 minutes each made up for the time lost getting there. Overall a decent first trip to the park, thanks for reading!

I was also at the park on 05/10/08 and felt bad for the people waiting on the blue side of AE!!
We got into line for the red side (luckily) and we got two rides in before some people on the blue side got in one because the wait was much longer with only one train.

I also thought the store by TDK/SUE had some good Batman shirts, but they should have ride related shirts out already rather than just generic Batman shirts.

We also didnt have any problems with any guestsm though there sure were alot of bus's in the parking lot, but the lines werent as bad as I thought they might be.

^I agree about the Batman shirts, Hot Topic at Gurnee Mills had a cool one for the movie though. I'm suprised with as many times we've been to the park at the same time over the years that I haven't run into you. :)

Tony, Im sure some day we will meet up. I know I will be at the park on 05/21/08 for thje hoped for opening of TDK.
And SFGAM should have the same Batman t-shirts that Hot Topic has, my son has bought 3-4 different shirts for the upcoming Batman movie.
