Messin' Up the Dells

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Director_Guy on March 21st, 2007, 10:18 pm
This calls for a different kind of introduction because in tonights episode, you are the star....

No, wait... let me start over.

It being the offseason and all, there aren't too many places one could go for a weekend of spring celebration. Nothing's open unless you want to drive 2000 miles east or west. So we hopped in our Doom Buggies and headed north for the wetlands of Wisconsin Dells.

This won't be a typical Photo Trip Report because there aren't many opportunities to take pictures inside water parks, but I guarantee some fun in the sun...er....clouds....

Tsuki is back from her far away place!
Image
"I never left! I've been stuck in your closet this whole time!"

Tsuki and I hitched a ride from Danhockey04 himself and his growthly tumor cousin Joe and headed to the Dellz!
Image

Image
Oh no...
Image
It's snowing. Will this winter ever end?!

On our journey up north, we caught a glimpse of an under cover cop destroying one of the giant ciggarettes
Image

Enough of this noise! Let's get some Pizza Hut Buffet!
Image

Here's the Joe before the buffet...
Image
and here's after...
Image

Finally we made it to the land of Oz
Image
A wonderful site to welcome us, closed amusement parks.
Image
Image
And a totally complain closed roller coaster!

We also headed over to take some nerdly pictures of Avalanche.
Image
Image
Image

Another sad reminder of winter, I got stuck in some snow
Image
Image
Image
Snow sucks.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Interesting. The front door is wide open. I don't see any harm in going in, do you?
Image
I would imagine some sort of large aquatic mammal is kept in here. One that resembles Joe.
Image
The other two are hesitant to be rebels and take too long to enter.
Image
Image
Interesting...
Image
Looks like the track is getting some work done.
Image
And look! A conveniently placed pile of wood.

On our way to the hotel, we see that Mt. Olympy is getting some work done as well.
Image
Image
Image

Oh, wow!
Image
A piece of wood somehow appeared in my hand! Imagine that!

At the Wilderness resort thing, we were attacked by thousands of dead animals!
Image
Even dead kittens!
Image

Image
Joe finds the door that leads to nowhere.

After some awesome hours in two of the waterparks (which included an awesome Tornado ride thing, a complain wavepool, and an Ice Cold tube slide thing) wii decided to play some wii

Image

But it wasn't that easy. The TV's didn't come with AV inputs, soooo wii found the nearest Walmart (cause the nearest Best Buy is 30 miles away) found some funky box that'll connect us, and we cheated the system! They don't want us playing with our wii's? Who do they think wii are?

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Even the bed wanted to get in on the Wii action and tried moving closer to us.
Image

Next, we got our buffet on again inA Room With A Moose.
Image
Image
"Two buffets in one day? I'm in heaven!", says the growth.

Oh look! A hidden Mickey!
Image

Here we go, your first look at the water slides.
Image
Okay, that's enough looking. Time to go have some fun in Dodge 'Em City!

Image
I want to know why the sign is in the Moose's pants... And if that's not the sign.... what the hell is it?

Image
It amuses me how out of place our shoes are.

Image
04 tires to Dodge 'Em.
Image
Tsuki crawls through one of the many perilous tunnels.
Image
But of course, falls to her doom.
Image
Oh no! I fell through a trap, too!
Image
Behind Dan are the most evil little chittlins to ever walk this earth.
Image
They bombarded Tsuki and I with thousands of little foam balls, thus killing us on the spot.
Image
Dan just keeps on going up and down the slide

After our breif encounter with death, Tsuki falls down an awesome slide I dubbed The Black Slam.
Image

Black Slam Reverse POV

Dodge 'Em City closed for the night, but I wasn't about to leave the game room without kicking some major ass in air hockey.
Image
Image
Image
Lundy blocks! Shoots! Misses... Shoots again! Scores!
Image
BUZZZ That's the game!

That's gotta sting. He's the one who plays REAL hockey.

Day Two has arrived. Let's get some eats.
Image
Image
Mr. Bunion agrees with our decision.
Image
Oh look! Woodland is here. Neat.
Image
"Where's my flapjacks, woman?!"
Image
I show off my newest and greatest invention, The Uber-Fork.
Oh, and because it's Saint Patrick's Day,
Image
I've got me lucky green beeds on today, faith and beggorah! Erin go Brah!
Image
Would you believe it? It's bigger than the Disneyland castle. How sad.
Image
Yay, Mickey Pancakes!
Image
Oh, hey! And Some Guy was on vacation here too! Weird how he gets around.
Image
On our way out, I tipped the tip.

We decided to head to Mt. Olympus and take some more nerdy shots.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Dynamic!
Image
Image
Image

Back at the Wilderness, Eric and And That Some Other Guy showed up.
Image
Image

After a while in the water parks and a near death experience in the wave pool, we went back to the room to dry off.

Quick gang! Let's go to MooseJaw!
Image
The hockey one hugs MooseJaw, since the Bull support is nowhere to be seen.

Down stairs in the arcade, we found this very interesting coaster machine.
Image
Image
Image
"I feel cheated and abused."

And That Some Other Guy gives it a try.
Image
Image
Wow, he looks really into it.
Image
Onlookers watch as the drama unfolds!
Image
"First credit of 2007!"
Image
"Let's go again!"

Then there was this odd horse game.
Image
I think the point of it is to kill the machine before you can finish the race.
Image
Go, Tsuki, go!
Image
If you don't win, your horse gets turned into glue!
Image

But you don't have to let the pictures do the talkin'. Check out the video of our fun in the arcade.

Arcade Fun

Eats time! (We sure do eat alot, don't we?)
Image
Each person was served their own healthy glass of urine.
Image
Hmm...that's an interesting color of urine.
Image
Joe does his Adam Sandler impression.
Image
Here's the pile-o-crap we made. Aint it loverly?
Image
Yay, moose hats!
Image
Tumor Joe says, "More urine please! Sluuurrrrp slurrrp"
Image
Moose rule!
Image
Off in the distance, we hear the faint cries of a small child. It can only mean one thing.
Image
It's a birthday. Poor kid. He'll soon realize his life isn't worth living.
Image

Eric and And That Some Other Guy left us, so we went back to Dodge 'Em City.
Image
Image
Image
Not finding any foam balls, my camera flash was my only denfense.
Image
I nearly got lost in the deep jungle of sock'em boppers.
Image
Note to self: Camera flash does not deflect foam balls to face.
Image
"Hi floor! Make me a sammich!"
Image
Gahh! Scary.
Image
It's no disrepair, it's THEMING!

Joe dissapeared. We later found him lounging about with his alcoholic beverage of choice.
Image

Day Three has arrived and we are forced to leave or room in the Wiilderness.
Image

Now, since all of our stuff is packed up, I can finally show you a glimpse of the water parks.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
The Hurricane (tornado) had this pretty cool lift thing that took the raft up to the top for you. It was pretty awesome.
Image
Of course, I couldn't bring the camera on the ride, but this was as close as I could get.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Cool tube slides. Not great. But cool.

Between two of the parks was this outdoor "heated" tunnel.
Image
Heated meaning not as cold as it really is outside.
Image
This is where the wavepool was. It was about 80 degrees in there, so naturally I didn't want to leave.
Image
Dammit, we lost Joe again!
Image
Oh never mind.

He later washed ashore stuck in one of these.
Image

Image
Stairs to the tornadeee
Image
Slide spew area.

Also, there were these weird midget sized beach chair things that...kind of freaked me out.
Image

After some more fun in the wet, we headed back to Illz.

Spring is just around the corner, but it really brings me down when reminders like this
Image
keep showing up telling me that it's still flarking cold outside.

Bullocks.

Here's to a happy (and early) Spring.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Aw I love Dodge'Em City. And for some reason I found the ending part of their tornado to be awsome.

that's some funny looking trackwork on Avalanche, hopefully it runs well, gotta get back up there this year, havent ridden it since a few days after it opened to the public.

And I personally would have driven thousands of miles, just ask anyone that knows me, Miami in Smarch rocks, Miami Dade Fair, cant beat that in the offseason, along with the 4100 mile drive that accompanies it as I hit every park open in Smarch along the way or within about 500 miles of the route there and back :) Sucks though that pulling something like that off requires something I guess is known as money, which I wouldnt know anything about since I dont have any, damn Euro Trips :)
