My friend and her three nephews and niece left Memphis at around 8:30 in the morning and made it to Six Flags at around 1:30pm. The first ride of the day was Batman: The Ride which I skipped out on because their version is very shaky and her youngest nephew (around 7ish) was to short to ride so I watched him. Also, her niece (I think she is 14) pretty much chickened out on all of the coasters we rode that day (including the mine train). Anyway, Batman stalled at the top of the lift for about 2 minutes when my friend and her oldest nephew was on it. When they got of, we went on the Ninja. All of us (excluding her niece) rode the back. We went on it again a second time this time in the front (except for my friend).
After the Ninja, we headed to Thunder River (the longest wait of the day = 30 minutes). We got completely soaked, so we decided to head over to the Boss. The back row was the only way to go on this ride and we conquered it. After the Boss, my friends youngest nephew wanted to ride the Highland Fling. I really hate rides that spin you around and no one else would ride it. I didn't want to disappoint the kid so I sucked it up and rode it with him. The ride wasn't to bad and I didn't get sick at all. After that ride, we headed for the Screamin Eagle (back row). This ride has gotten rougher and rougher every time I ride it.
When we finished the Eagle, we saw Superman:TOP and decided to skip it because the line was way too long. Also, a few of the carts were not functioning which made the wait time even longer. Skipping Superman, the little guy wanted to ride the Rush Street Flyer so I rode it with him twice while his sister rode Water Street Cab Company bumper cars.
After that, the River King Mine Train was the next ride to ride. Then we headed towards Tidal Wave and really got soaked. The little guy then wanted to ride the Riverview Racer (swings), so we watched him ride it.
Once he was done with that ride, him and his older brother wanted to ride the Boss once again. So we got in line and rode in the back cart two times in a row. My friend and her niece decided not to ride the coaster.
The final ride of the night was the Scooby Doo GhostBlaster. The wait time was a little long, but the kids seem to enjoy it.
We left the park at around 6:30pm. In between time, we played a few games and I bought a couple of souve's for some people.
Overall, we had a good day. The crowds were pretty moderate and the weather seemed gloomy for the most part. Mr. Freeze was not in operation (as expected) and the DC Comics characters were every where.
The one thing that truly suprised me about this TR was the fact that my friends little nephew was brave enough to ride all of the coasters. At first when she told me that he was going with us, I kind of cringed thinking that he wasn't going to ride any of the rides and that we would have to take him to the Bugs Bunny National Park area. We took him over to that area to let him see the rides. He said that those rides looked "boring" and wanted to ride the big rides.
This kind of makes me rethink about Shapiro's "Family Image" that he is trying to create. Continue to make family rides, but don't take away the development of coasters in the process.
good TR. your friend's got a brave little nephew....now if only my little brother, he's almost 12, would suck it up when we go on trips...he won't come close to any coaster except the kiddie dragon coasters...
What rides did you like the best? You didn't really say what you think of blah.blah... I was told that SFStL was SUPPOSED to get Goliath that went to SFOG. It figures that the little park gets dumped on. And whopee doo. Next year, it might get a mouse coaster. That won't help that park much.
