Left Evan's (Raging_Bull) around 8 am. By the time we went to the bank, gas station etc. it was 8:40. Arrived in Louisville around 3:15. When we walked into the park, we knew it was empty since we walked on their Wild Mouse coaster. After that we went over to Chang for a few straight rides. Then on to T2. After going on Thunder Run, Twisted Twins and Roller Skater, it started to storm shortly after. The park closed around 7:30, 2 hours early even though it was clearing up.
Rides:
Chang:
First good stand-up coaster I have been on. One of the few rides there with a decent appearance due to the new paint job. The turn around before the drop was a good feature, but the drop wasnt steep enough to produce any airtime. Loved the 2nd corkscrew. Due to the horrible landscaping in that park, you could touch the plants on the sides. Got a total of 7 rides on it.
Summary:
A good coaster, but its still a stand-up coaster so it cant be too high on my list.
T2:
I had been on Mind Eraser at SFNE before this and actually thought it was a decent coaster. However, the roughness of this ride and the HORRIBLE appearance of it brought it down a notch. Before they painted it black in 1997 or so, it was red. They didn't even bother to repaint the station when they did this, so the station was all red. You could also see alot of red in the track. The T2 sign was a joke. Most of it was bare wood. Got on this 3 times.
Summary:
Pretty bad for an SLC. If they actually took care of it and made it look decent it would be ok.
Thunder Run:
Average wooden coaster. Not much to tell about it. Went on once.
Twisted Twins:
Another coaster with a horrible appearance. Maybe if they would actually trim the weeds growing through the track it wouldn't look like s***. Ride wasn't anything to talk about after the first drop either. Went on a total of 3 times combined.
Greezed Lightning:
To my dismay, this ride was closed.
Overall:
Landscaping in this park was a joke. All one train ops. Operations weren't horrible, but not good either. The atmosphere was very weird since the park was so dead. I had never seen a park this dead before. They wouldn't let us stand in line when the sky looked dark. Then theres the fact that they closed 2 hours early. Lets just say I won't be returning to this park for a while.
And Six Flags Magic Mountain is up for sale?? Did you like the Mouse ride? That was my favorite at that park except for Chaos which is now gone. There is also Penguin's Blizzard River which is in my opinion, the best raft ride.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
Yeah, I've been to SFKK before. You're right, the place looks like crap.
No wonder the park was dead.
"There should be a B.O. squad that patrols the city like a "Smell Gestapo". To sniff 'em out, strip 'em down, and wash them with a big, soapy brush..."
"Why is nice bad? What kind of a sick society are we living in when nice is bad?"
When myself and my brothers went to KK, 3 years ago I believe, there was no lines. We rode, Greezed Lightnin' 11 times, and probably at least 5 times in a row. Not one ride, did we ever wait for. That's how empty the park was. And we were just as lucky in St. Louis, a couple weeks ago. The longest wait we had, for the 3 days we were there, was probably 5-10minutes.
